Disclosures about Tiffany?

No sleep for poor Dez.

So did Tiffany’s shout wake Dez and interrupt Kip and Stef from consummation? Will we ever learn what was so shocking? Will Bets be banned from the Gulag when this rumor gets back to Leslie, as it inevitable will?

And what were Guns’n’Bets doing that was so quiet that they plainly hear what Leslie was saying to Punk. Because when I talk to our cats I never raise my voice.

Not even Les deserves to have his private conversations made public.

Ever notice that when someone divulges a secret which subsequently is Known To All, he’s mad at the person he told and not himself?

Once, when I was teaching a Sunday School class, I mentioned that my wife’s birthday was next week. (This was at a time she was very sensitive about her age.) One of my students asked me how old my wife would be.

“Well,” I began, “Can you keep a secret?”

She nodded vigorously.

“So can I.”

Gotta feeling this arc will REALLY become complicated—and its greatest effect will be on Gunther and Bets! BTW, is that nymphomaniac listening—or is she still having climaxes?

Oh leave Bets alone, don’t kill the messenger, and stow the “Poor Les” comments.

Remember back in early 2019, when Les pounded on Gunther’s bedroom door DEMANDING to know what Gunth and Luann were “doing in there?” Knox wasn’t worried about or respecting other people’s privacy then.

Actually, Bets’ revelation could be a good thing for Les. Nature-Gal Dez, who probably talks to her plants, might appreciate a guy who talks to his beloved kitty. Les just might gain a new friend here: Dez.

The one I’d worry about is Stef, who now appears to winding down the screaming and listening intently.

Remember how quickly she posted Bets and Gun’s bureau-up last year? ;-)

I know this is a comic strip, and is meant to be humorous, but this strip depicts something that really bugs me when it happens in real life (which is way too often). Whenever someone says something along the lines of “I’m not supposed to tell you this, so don’t let it go any further”, what they’re really saying is “Somebody trusted me, but I can’t be trusted, so I want you to be trustworthy for me”. I was once with a group of friends, and one woman said “I was told this in strictest confidence, so don’t tell anybody”. I pointed out that she was violating the person’s trust who had told her. She told us anyway. Why do people do that.

I hope Dez gives Tiffany a talk about trust and not telling your friends’ secrets that will change her heart completely, otherwise the entire The Fuse staff will soon know Les’ secret. If that happens, I hope Les will be angry with Tiffany and not with Bets for telling her what she heard. Tiffany needs to learn that gossiping is wrong.

Best way to keep a secret? Don’t tell anyone in the first place.

Dez might really be awake listening to all this.

Just because I alluded to a Les-Tiff possibility does not mean an intent to speak it into existence! The giggling in the last panel does have implications.

Don’t ever tell Tiffany anything, then ask her not to tell. That’s like putting it on social media!

Between the two conversations, Dez will wake up and think Steph was saying …. to Kippy.

The three FASTEST methods of communication; 1) Telephone 2) Television 3) Tell Tiffany!

And now Dez finally has enough and moves out of the dorm and into some hippie commune.

I remember when this comic used to be funny.

I had roommates like that. Absolutely no consideration for others. Makes you want to explode sometimes. Dez may reach that point with Stef. And Kip bears a lot of responsibility for this situation. He is using her tolerance to benefit his relationship with Stef.

My bets are on Bets stringing Tiffany on with a bit of make believe gossip :0)

Naked Yoga Girl needs to get up and whomp the tar out of all of them. THAT’S a comic I would enjoy.

No good can come of this…..and Dez is waking up, I see.

Now things seem to be getting good.

I doubt if the gossip is anything bad. Probably just something that would show Les to be a caring guy. It might embarrass him if others thought he wasn’t such a tough guy.

Stef is still doing her thing, she did not hear what Bets said to Tiffany. I doubt that Dez heard either. She is just waking up from the loud laughter.

I learned long ago not to share secrets that aren’t mine, particularly ones I learned by accident. If you have to say to a friend “okay, you have to promise not to tell anyone” then it’s you who should not be talking at the moment. I regret the chain of events that forced me to learn that lesson, as it involved breaking a confidence for no real reason. But I learned my lesson from the experience.

It appears that these girls, though years older than I was at the time, have yet to learn that lesson.

Never tell a cat anything you do not want the entire world to know.

I learned my lesson about LUANN secrecy when I first got this gig. Dropping hints of future developments seemed like fun and a cool way to interact here, but it was an immature and selfish act on my part. I have occasionally drifted away from NOT doing that and usually regretted it. So, with respect to GnK and the faithful followers here, mum’s the word. Dang it.

Lemme guess – Les says “I’m your huckleberry…”

Uhh, Bets was that really necessary?

While there actually be something Les said to Punk that is worthy of a few giggles, the vast majority of what Les says to punk ain’t that interestinig-or funny.

A secret is a secret when only one person knows it. When that person tells another, it is no longer a secret.

Dez is not going to get any sleep tonight, is she…?

I’m betting by Saturday we see a whole new side of Des.

…and so it starts.

I learned a good trick. Whenever someone tells me a secret, I make myself forget it. It actually works.

Poor Dez. She’s paying for a room only to sleep on the couch. In what reality would Steff still be in the Quad? She would have been kicked to the curb long ago. I know it’s a comic, but it is written to be believable. And this just isn’t.

I really hope Tiffany doesn’t use this information to make Les quit taking his cut of her tip money from when he took the dishwasher job to let her be the waitress. That would be kind of underhanded on her part, but I can see it happening.
