What a cute strip. The whole family is so affectionate and attentive to Mrs. Horner’s needs. Mut the one who understands her best is her pupil Luann, then there’s Puddles who adores her. Her good mood is fantastic and I think it will be a cheerful dinner, maybe there could also be a surprise with Toni announcing she’s pregnant.

an accidental invitation to thanksgiving continues the tradition.

An accidental text message has led to a Thanksgiving tradition that is now continuing into its seventh year.Jamal Hinton confirmed on Instagram Tuesday that he will spend this Thanksgiving with Wanda Dench, who in 2016 thought she was texting her grandson to invite him to Thanksgiving when she actually texted Hinton.

This takes me back to last Thanksgiving. The night before, I went to the Emergency Room with a headache and mild fever. Turns out, I got Covid. I told them it couldn’t be that. I just had gotten the latest booster less than a month, earlier. Well, the kids had to make a u-turn and we had a turkey all to ourselves. I’m hoping that this one is better.

It is odd that Nancy would call her Mrs. Horner instead of her first name. I can see Luann calling her that since she was her teacher, but someone as old as Nancy would call her by her first name.

This is so sweet. Makes me think of someone, in a nursing home, we could invite for our family dinner this week. Being catered too sometimes makes us “senior” seniors aggravated but here it’s so sweet. Phil is just a plot transition device. However: its Monday, Thanksgiving is Thursday. Plot misdirection is entirely possible. We"ll see.

This story is more about Mrs. Horner than it is about Phil. I’m kind of hoping for a love connection between Luann and Phil, perhaps encouraged along by Mrs. Horner and their mutual friendship with her. That would be a sweet and different type of story for Luann. Her relationship with Quill was so juvenile. But Brad has grown up so maybe it’s time for Luann to do a little maturing as well.

Not-so-fun fact: Per the USDA, Approximately seven million American senior citizens suffer from food insecurity…

Sounds like she’s got her priorities in order, dark for me, extra stuffing and gravy ! ;-)

What would be really interesting is if Luann should have a knew love interest without a certain someone, anyone, trying to eclipse her.
