I’m sure Musk has put all his holdings into a blind trust since he’s a government employee, albeit an “advisor”. And his security clearance and that of his Musketeers is coming, just wait ….
I drive a 1949 GMC 3/4T, 5 windows that I restored and mild modified a little over 20 years ago and I still usually get compliments when I’m out and about with it. Then one day I’m unloading some packages at the Post Office. when I was shocked to hear “Man that’s the ugliest truck I’ve ever seen!”. The comment came from a few guys staring at a Cybertruck about 5 spaces down the row. I just smiled with relief that it wasn’t my truck.
“Back in my day”, it was a VW and we called it a “punch buggy” quickly followed by a punch in the arm. Who in their right mind thought that was fun? Actually, we did, and we laughed like ninnies afterwards.
A coworker asked me and another friend to pick up her VW Bug because she could not get off work before the dealer closed so we went. I got the keys and headed for the parking lot, got in started her up and headed for the freeway on ramp where I floored it and was surprised by the small whine coming out of the motor… TURBO!!!! What a blast LOL
I will have to confess, I did not know what the “slug bug” game was until recently. Back in my day, we didn’t count VW Beetles, we counted cars with one headlight burned out (Padiddle). Whoever called the padiddle first got to choose someone else in the car who then had to remove an article of clothing. If you called padiddle, however, and it was a motorcycle you had to remove an article of clothing. Needless to say, this was not played in the car with parents or siblings. The secret to winning was two-fold: wear lots of layers, and keep a watchful eye. It also helped if you ganged up on someone prior to starting out on the excursion.
I saw pictures of those abominations online for sometime, but I didn’t believe they were actually real until I saw one on the road. All I can say is WHY!!!

I saw one at Denny’s yesterday, never got to see one close up. Yep, one ugly vehicle.

We called it “punch buggy.”

I’ve seen one, but it was kind of lost in the hoard of monster Dress-up trucks.

Cybertrucks are so futuristically ugly & intimidating. Tell me why anyone wants one?

The “cyber truck” is a piece of junk, and totally useless.

I do like EVs but the Cyber truck design is so useless. Anyone remembering when the old style VW bug was nick named a pregnant roller-skate?

Before “Slug Bug”, there was “4-hole Buick.”

I live across the street from a high school. The first time I saw a Cybertruck I thought it was working project from the auto shop class.

They’re making the wrong motion. It’s supposed to be outstretched, stiff arm with palm down. THAT’s how you salute a Swasitcar!

I think you mean “swasticar”.

When I first saw a picture of a cybertruck I thought it was like a prototype or concept vehicle. I didn’t realize it was the finished product.
