I read online that a lot of classic kids books (as in written in the 19th century) are being edited (changed) to remove anything upsetting for the Generation of the Offended. Funny how they leave the modern (living) authors alone! Only tyrants ban books.

I wondered how long a new character in this strip was going to last.

I prefer the version of 3 Little Pigs done by Green Jellÿ. The umlaut makes the “y” into an “o”, btw.

I saw today that some place or other they’re canceling one of the fairy tails. Cinderella, I think? Because it’s too adult for the target audience. I’m okay with dropping it, though not for that reason, Rather because it’s all about teaching girls that the way to be successful is to tie yourself to a rich and handsome guy. This is neither realistic nor empowering.

‘Snowflakes & The Seven Dwarfs’ just doesn’t have the same ring to it.

This is exactly what is happening with Snow White. Drop the dwarves as not PC, she doesn’t need to wait for a prince to rescue her, and fair becomes a character trait since she is now Latino and not super pale skinned.

I once met a woman who was selling a copy of Grimms fairy tales because the stories were wrong. They were more violent than the Disney versions she was used to.

Will Rat be deported? Or expelled? It’s considered, by some, cool to be rude. Or soft to be considerate. There are a lot of different kinds of oxes in the world. Maybe you feel differently when it’s your ox that is gored.
