Leslie should keep his nose out of Gunther’s life choices!

Leslie is right! Gunther is blind to how manipulative Bets is. Hopefully he will come around. Bets should want to be with Gunther because she cares for him….not because she cares for him getting her “views” and “likes”.

Les tells it like it is. It didn’t take much to convince Gunther to sew those costumes. He lets Betts walk all over him. Studying is more important, and Betts should have accepted the fact that he needs the time to study.

That’s quite the sassy little pose Gunther is making in the third panel. I feel bad for the commenter who claimed there was “a man’s man” underneath Gunther’s awkward exterior, because that stance says otherwise.

Looks like Bets has Gunther’s ____ in a jar on her night table. It’s SAD to see!

Gunther is going to start thinking about it now.

I do generally find Les to be a major jerk. But I must admit, I really like his snark at the end. “I must wallow in my heartbreak.”

They each have a relationship they enjoy: Les has Punk, Gun has his Holster. Respect each other’s choices.

Gunther obviously cares enough about Bets to adjure certain rights and freedoms but that is hopefully a conscious choice..

Here’s a thought.

Right now, of Les and Bets’ date, we only have Bets’ side of the story.

Just suppose…was it the other way around?

Granted, Les and Bets’ date was a couple years ago our time, maybe a couple weeks their time; nevertheless, Les was still somewhat in his bad boy days. We don’t know.

But I’m wondering, if the truth be told, which is the one who dumped whom – and why?

Les is right!!! Gunther lets Bets boss him around.

Gunther knows a lot about everything but himself.

Who are we to judge? Perhaps the BETS/gunther relationship gives both of them exactly what they seek in a partner?

At the rate this is going, he should just sew her a Wicked Witch costume and make his costume one of her flying monkeys.

Rosa once told Gunther that she had to make all the social moves for him. So, he’s got his mold, and he ain’t gettin’ out of it. Do unto him what you will, Bets.

I really like Bets in that she’s felt pretty well-rounded right out the gate. Like, she has a vibrant, go-getter personality, but people are right in saying that she’s pushy/bossy (and then there’s the jealousy thing she had about Luann).

Especially because her pushiness does feel more…“balanced”(?) than being straight up manipulative or forceful. Sure, Gunther has expressed reluctance in things like being involved in her social media, or right now where she’s talked him into sewing them costumes, but ultimately he seems to enjoy himself or at least grow more comfortable with being more social and outgoing by the end of it. I’m sure there needs to be a line drawn somewhere down the road, but I really enjoy Bets as a character and get kinda frustrated that half the plot lines she’s featured in have other characters raising their eyebrows like she’s some sort of wolf-in-sheeps-clothing tyrant.

Where’s Mordy? He gotta have something to say about this.

She is neither “forcing” him, or “convincing” him. She’s “managing” him. Gun needs a lot of managing, otherwise he nor she would have any fun at all!

Does Gunther know that this date is going to be a media event?

Bets is quite the catch for the ol’ Gunner. However, she is getting to be a bit too much. What am I saying….she’s always been too much. They would be perfect for each other if she could chill the f out but I don’t see her changing at this point.

Nope, you’re mistaken, Gunther. Your spine was pulverized and it was sad to witness. Dump Bets. You have known she is bossy, demanding, jealous, suspicious, domineering, unreasonable…all the unflattering adjectives. Yes, she was a rare one who is interested in you but she is interested in you for all the wrong reasons which is all in name of self-interest. Bets’s priority is…Bets – and her social media followers. Don’t put up with her because you rather have a girlfriend than being alone. Someday, you will realize it is better to be alone than be miserable in a bad relationship.

Where is is Morty? What got me in this whole story line is that Bets didn’t ask Gunther to sew the outfits, she told him to do it. Not only is that bossy, but it is also impolite. If Bets has true feelings for Gunther she should be supportive to his needs, especially school work.

I appreciate how the only likeable character in this strip is the one who was specifically written as unlikeable.

Leslie Knox has not recovered from Tiffany episode where she stated that he was icky

Les is trying to help Gunther understand how unfair this situation is!? GO LES! He’s a great cousin ♡!I really miss it when Gunther had the “three days beard”. He had a horrible temper, was irritable, victimize and selfish. But he seemed better able to look around and know when someone was taking advantage of him. Now he looks so weak, so manipulable. Gunther really loves Bets♡, so much that he is unable to see flaws in her. Let’s hope this doesn’t affect his grades too much.

Les is right, Gunther. Bets is a pushy jerk who’s only out to impress her unseen internet audience. Hope you still have that attitude when you fail your classes after working on those dumb costumes, only to have her spend the entire dinner on her phone and ignoring you.

Gunther is comfortable with Bets. The other girls made him nervous and sweaty. He puts up with Bets because Bets “puts out” for Gunther. It is obvious that they share a very active sex life.

It’s time to write Gunther out of the strip. Tired of him getting upset about everything.

Gunther probably has the perfect girlfriend, even if she is pushy. He does love to sew. He loves it a lot, but it’s easier for a boy or man to say his girlfriend made him do it instead of just admitting that’s what he wants to be doing. He might have a hard time finding another girl who not only admires his talent but encourages it and provides an outlet for him to sew any time he wants. It is odd he doesn’t work on spiffing up his own wardrobe…just sayin’.

And Now we see Gunther get angry. Too bad his anger is not directed at the person he should be angry with – - Bets. If Gunther can’t recognize his true feelings he will continue to let Bets and other people run over him.

Alas, poor Gunther. Feline flagellated men often don’t understand that all women have one. Some lucky men manage to pull their head out and let the other one do some work. I hope Gunther does before too much damage occurs.

Les is owned by a cat.

Just live in the moment. If Gun is doing well in school and can handle a relationship, then it’s all good. What difference does it make as long as he is having fun? Personally? I am not a Gun fan; however, in this matter it’s all about balance. If the costume making isn’t impacting his grades and he enjoys being with Bets then the point is moot.

The difference between ‘convincing’ and ‘bossing’ is a thin line indeed.

Les has a point. What a character shift from being unlikable bully to a voice of reasons.

Great line, Les. I’m starting to like this guy; he speaks the truth, even knowing he’s not being listened to. And if his cat loves him, that’s a good indicator of character. Cats see through the facades we put up. . .

That’s one way to look at it, Gunther! Guess he’s ok with it, but for how long?

Divergent views of the same situation. But Gunther is enjoying real benefits. Sewing is not picking cotton or coal mining, and a kitten is no substitute for a real, “physically enthusiastic” woman! Sew, Gunther! You are well compensated.

Going back to last Saturday’s strip, I missed the fact that we saw a confrontation between two quite bossy types. The final confrontation at the TTF2, if it ever happens, should be interesting.

In panel three Gunther provides a perfect example of rationalization.

Les is rough around the edges. But he is trying to help you, dude. You need to stand up to her because she does not respect you.

I do have to wonder if this nice dinner for two is for Gunther or her online followers.

Les has become much more caring than he used to be!

Well, we shall see, but not next week, I’m sure.

I don’t see how this works out well for Bets, especially if she and Gun actually show up at the mansion dressed as pirates.

Maybe Les will clue Gun in about the formal dinner that Tiffany is preparing.

We don’t know what either is thinking. This could be exactly what Gunther wants. She may correctly or incorrectly think it’s what he wants. She may be thinking of him or just herself.

Leslie has Gunther’s number. Gunny is blinded by his infatuation with a girl who seems (to him) to care for him—and is, BTW, quite attractive, too!

Alas! I once had such hope for Gunny & Bets. Now it is all falling apart….

C’mon, you’re better than that.

Perhaps the seed has been planted, and maybe Gunther (I refuse to call him “Gun”) will ditch the bossy chick. She’s a user and a loser.

Les has a point. You don’t have to do everything your loved one tells you to do. Poor Gunther, knows that, but Bets just manipulated him.

Les knows what Bets is up to; he’s got too much experience with manipulators not to see that this isn’t healthy. Ultimately, it’s Gunther’s decision what he does with his life, including his love life, but hopefully he starts to see what Les is talking about. His relationship with Bets can work out and continue, but it is awfully one-sided right now. He needs to learn how to stick up for his own needs.

I now officially like Les.

Never thought I’d agree fully with Les. Poor Gunther is smitten and doesn’t realize Bets is preying on him.
