Coming Soon đ At the beginning of April, youâll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
They are so fixated on Luann I wonder if they will go back and try to rebrand her again. Sort of the way this plot has been circling the drain for six weeks.
Being unbrandable makes Luann unique so in itself makes her interesting. Congrats, Karen, on that front. Youâve succeeded in branding her. The Fluid Brand. Any ideas for names to Brand in that regard is welcome!
The problem is they are trying to rebrand Luann based on what they think makes a secure, popular person. Rebranding is as much about personality as it about presence. A true rebranding specialist would have been able to take the answers she gave them, and built up something interesting. Itâs not about fixing the image. But finding different ways to display the image.
Iâm enjoying this arc! This, by the way, is how brainstorming works. No one ever comes up with the perfect idea on the first try, even professionals.
OK, people, how would you rebrand this strip? And stay away from politics and religion. Remember, they are not full-fledged adults yet nor high-school students. And, finishing past strips, while it would be good, does not count toward rebranding.
Based partilaly on th helmet Tiff just re â branded Luann as a horny cinnamon bun salesman. Either that or Beats jus came out with some weird gold headphones that look like cinnamon buns. Psst Luann, what song are th girls listenin to on them headphones?
Of course there is. Girl next door, old fashioned, sweet, helpful. Itâs just not super recognizable because it looks unambitious in our capitalist society, and it is. Old fashioned sweet helpful women, while a lovely brand, end up being taken advantage of as low paid teachers, social workers, customer service reps under our current system. Unlike Bets & tiff who are working to figure out the rules of capitalism to NOT be taken financial advantage of. Sooo if blank slate tool of capitalism is the brand Luann wants, give her enough rope to fiscally hang herself.
Itâs a good thing these two immediately faced Luann the biz-buster. This way, they have to realize how many holes their idea has and (hopefully) theyâll be able to find how to solve them. Even if looking at todayâs strip, it seems more likely that Luannâs case will push them to cancel the whole project. I keep hoping either for a suddenly stroke of genius or for Dez to arrive, giving them some good advice. The image of Luann as a Valkyrie is beautiful.
Iâve been reading this comic strip for a very long time now, but this arc is really starting to annoy me. Iâve hovered over the unsubscribe button a few times now. Is it just me that feels this way?
At least Bets is showing she has some common sense, unlike Tiffany who has proven AGAIN how much she hates Luann. She has spent all this time insulting Luann and putting her down.
Quite the change from the girl that invited Luann to a fake âpool partyâ but instead spent the whole time dumping about her feelings for Kip. When she was in crisis and needed friends to talk to Luann wasnât such a loser was she?
Just another G&K character personality change. Typical.
So a Childrenâs Zoo educator that perhaps uses humor and songs to teach young kids about animals never crossed their minds? Please make this arc stop.
Remember when this storyline started, April 1st was ânext weekâ? And now itâs still going on and presumably just the next day (since Tiffany finally changed out of her work uniform), but April 1st is now last month. And other than Luann deciding that her utter lack of personality was actually a good thing, there has been no character development or self-awareness whatsoever. Just more and more wheel-spinning.
One time my small dog seem bored so I stood up and did a song and dance. The dog looked at me just like Puddles is looking at Luann. Confused and concerned.
Iâm enjoying this arc! I love seeing the brainstorming team at work; as everyone knows, no one comes up with the perfect idea on the first try. As Iâve said before, Tiff and Bets are the ones who really need ârebrandingâ, aka new paths so they can grow, expand, learn, and discover. Thatâs what college and being a young adult (19) is about- exploring, experimenting, and finding yourselves, or at least finding the path(s) you are interested in.
I think these two are discovering that personal branding is not straight forward; theyâre dealing with real human beings; they canât just collect a list of answers from a questionnaire and assign a âbrandâ.
The only thing going for this story arc is showing how vapid so many online scheme makers are. I hope someone busts in and tells them that this is a total bust.

Sheesh.
WHY are they still focusing on Luann when there are so many other Suckeers, uh, I MEAN âclientsâ BATUBS could choose from?
And Tiff?
Youâre slipping.
Forget Lu as an opera singer.
Remember your Doll-O-Ween party last Fall when Luann stole the show dressed as Dolly Parton?
How about Luann as a Country Music Pet Educator?
After all, Country Music is all the ârageâ these days, supposedly.
Just ask Beyonce. ;-)

Itâs not reasonable to expect comic strip characters to know they are bashing their own brand, since without âLuannâ, none of them exist. ;)

Luann is her own brand, silly geese. What they call blah and unbrandable, is actually a very imaginative person with great potential.

It seems to me, in this age of social media, that young people are more interested in being a âbrandâ instead of becoming a person.
