Coming Soon 👀 At the beginning of April, you’ll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
Admittedly, i could be wrong but wouldn’t there be an elevated risk of people who go for the bands having compromised blood? The devil may care lifestyle.
Shush, Tiff. You’re jealous, Tiff. Luann is doing something worthy…a community service and is pairing with a guy on this cause…when you failed to hook Kip after prying Stef and Kip apart. You’re at a low right now and trying to pull Luann down to your level. Grow up girl. Contribute your time to your community learn a thing or two about compassion and unity.
“Blow up… that’s funny. You’re funny. It’s TJ, right? You’re a real laff riot… just like Luann. She’s really funny too… had me in stitches on our date.”
“Phill, why are you wearing scrubs?”
“Sorry. It’s to hide my profuse sweating. Can you see me sweat? I hope not. Because, remember… Never answer the phone on the first ring. Never say ‘I’ll be right over’. And never, ever, let them see you sweat.”
“My spicy hot cooking might make you sweat.”
“Like I said, laff riot. I wouldn’t mind cooking with you, TJ. But I’m already cooking with gas. In fact, I kinda have gas after eating here. Would your cooking give me gas? Because I feel like I have to blow wind. See? I made a funny too! We could be a regular comedy duo. See us? A laff riot, squared!”
Of course things blow up TJ, remember when you blew up your food truck? Also of ourse it’s all about Luann, Tiff that’s the only thing she thinks, cares, or talks about. This whole thing is just to impress Phil.
Let’s hope Phil realizes that if he continues to see Luann, this will be his life. TJ seems so proud of the effect The Fuse give to people and Luann and Tiffany may have become almost friends now, but some things never change.
Why no green cookies? Appropriate for the day and probably a lot nicer than the Red Cross snacks (in my experience, a few cheap biscuits in a small pack). Real lemonade and coffee would be appreciated too, surely. And that way the event could be an advertisement for the Fuse / Kafe.
Also live music doesn’t have to be horribly loud. Why not someone doing Irish songs on a guitar?
Pardon me for asking, but what “profits” does a blood drive generate? Does Luann mean, profits made from food purchased with the coupon, in which case, how much of a profit margin does Kafe Kablooey have to make a profit on 10% Off?
This is Phil’s first time in the Fuse and meeting Luann’s mom, friends, etc.? And knowing nothing about the Fuse he suggests to Luann that her mother should be donating the profits from any business they do to the blood drive? And then in front of everyone Luann says “If that’s ok with you mom.” That sure puts mom in a tough spot is she wants to say no, and I’m not so sure she would take such a liking to Phil as a first impression with such a suggestion from him putting her in such a spot.
So glad to see Tiffany being the selfish, jealous, hateful b:tch we all know and love! Don’t worry, they’ll do a turn around and show her being kind and helpful before this story is finished. Personally, I don’t think it’s especially wise to fight with the boss’s daughter…in front of the boss.
Tiffany still dwells in a cheap mindset while Luann is evolving thanks in part to Phil. Most of the Fuse crowd have no idea what a blood drive involves, even Nancy; I hope we get to see it in action.
So why hold a big planning meeting in the first place? Just tell everyone what’s needed, or better yet just tell their boss and let them pass the word along. As annoying as Tiffany’s being, she’s right in that this didn’t need to be a big event if Luann didn’t actually need or want everyone’s input. To use the old office phrase: “this could’ve just been an email.”
Maybe Nancy can suggest that Luann work at the cafe for free for a day or more, so she’ll have a better understanding of what it means to give away income for a day, while still having to work? It’s harder (but also means more) to give away your own paycheck than to volunteer someone else to give up theirs. It could be an interesting character development twist for Luann. She could also forego tips so the regular workers wouldn’t see theirs reduced.
Profit-lets say their basic burger lunch-1/3lb burger/fries/soda is $15 and their total variable cost-ground beef/bun/veggies/10 minutes variable labor-server/dishwasher(if TJ is the only cook then his labor would be included in his owner’s draw cost). So if that totals $5, profit will depend on how they allocate fixed cost-owner’s draw/rent/utilities meaning “profit” can be manipulated by at least $5 per lunch.
It would actually be kinda nice if Phil manages to help Tiff realize her lack of KISS is why her business ventures keep failing. She has good ideas, but keeps getting distracted with branding and perks too early
So Tiff has transferred her obsessive fixation on Kip to Phil. Pity she can’t seem to find a guy who isn’t already “taken” so to speak, but she has to continue to try to steal another girl’s boyfriend. (or potential boyfriend, in Luann and Phil’s case.)
There is so much going on here, but I doubt if Tiff’s sarcastic putdown will go anywhere. This train is headed to the station, with Phil and Luann as engineers.
I fail to see why Tiffany is even at this meeting. It should just be management, owners and the people putting on the drive. Why should Tiff have a say in how they run their business, any more than Les or Ox? And then to insult Luann in front of her Mom who happens to be her boss?
lvlax about 17 hours ago
I disagree. I think a cool band playing there would help bring in lots of people to donate blood.
Not sure Nancy will be thrilled about giving away all the profits, either…
J. Scarbrough about 17 hours ago
And of course Tiff has to be the difficult one . . . that needs to be written in her chart.
Yuban333 about 17 hours ago
Back off, Tiffany! Jealousy doesn’t look good on you.
beb01 about 17 hours ago
This is why I hate meetings. So much chaos and ultimately nothing gets done.
Mordock999 Premium Member about 17 hours ago
Well, you could always give blood, Tiffany.
Bet you’d do if Kip and Stef showed up and Stef DARED you. ;-)

Red Cross is getting the blood Luann…
R.W.Singer -SF about 17 hours ago
I went to a blood drive where they had some food but gave you two drink tickets at the bar. Really hits nicely when you are pint low.

Commediacrit about 17 hours ago
Of course it’s all about you and Phil, Luann! Haven’t you been reading the comments?
Good thing TJ’s keeping his cool and his humor. Phil’s gonna need a savvy guide on his first foray into Luann’s social circle.
kenhense about 17 hours ago
Good comment from TJ (he would know about blowing things up).
snsurone76 about 17 hours ago
I thought Tiff and Luann were finally mending fences—especially after Tiff returned Puddles. Looks like I’m wrong, and I feel badly about that.

Meetings with out coffee and donuts is against some law of nature…………..or it should be.
Vilyehm about 14 hours ago
As suggested years ago, the band should be EXTINGUISH.
Composed of off duty fire fighters. Continuing the theme.
Fuse.
Kablooie.
Extinguish.

Green cookies still would have been good. A personal touch from the Fuse.

One of these days someone will stomp all over Tiffany. It won’t make much difference, tho, because she’s indestructible.

The Fuse should be the name of this comic strip soap opera.

I generally can put up with ads on most sites, but the ones here that keep changing the whole screen format are getting out of hand.
You can’t even finish typing a short message without it jumping out of view a few times, so you have to scroll to get back to it.

Because Tiffiny always has to compete with and out do LuAnn. Especially if there’s an eligible male invovled.

chris_o42 about 9 hours ago
Well Tiff is her snarky self as usual. And where is Bernice? Shouldn’t she be here offering free psychological evals to donors?
Ancient Wise Guy about 9 hours ago
I tried to give blood once, but there were so many questions. “Where did you get it” “Whose blood is it?” “Why is it in that bucket?”
Ellis97 about 9 hours ago

Are Tiffany’s eyes turning green, again? Will the 10% of the day’s profits include TJ’s Cafe’ Kablooie? Can Nancy write it off next year’s taxes?
Bernedoodle about 9 hours ago
So, who will chicken out on giving Blood?
