I can tell the Man is just thinking “Oh my cat she’s wants us to adopt this tiny nuke”

Sidebar: you think he’d be used to her cooing over the cat equilvent of a nuke by now given how she treats Elvis and Lupin

There is a hot sauce called Da Bomb Beyond Insanity, and it clocks in at 1.5 million Scovilles. Looks like Ora Zella might be even spicier than that!

If the Woman plans to adopt the tiny purring bomb, she really ought to give the Man his very own full body bomb suit this Christmas. It’s the only sensible way to handle live ordinance on a daily basis.

Iggy looks so content in the woman’s arms. They need to get Ora some place she can’t escape from, like the office before she wakes up. Somehow I don’t think they would find it quite as neat as when Goldie was locked in there, https://www.gocomics.com/breaking-cat-news/2019/11/26

All People and Cats had to be out of the house last week while our floors were being refinished. Two of them went quietly. Two of them did NOT. Chasing a cat needs to be an Olympic sport, it is highly entertaining AND difficult.

Will the Man need a round of antibiotics after being bitten by Da Purring Bomb so many times? Kitties have lots of bacteria in their cute, little, razor toothed mouths.

Assuming Ora Zella’s claws have not yet been clipped (highly possible considering her wildness), the Man’s shirt sleeve and palm must be in need of Bactine and bandages. Not to mention the bite wounds.

    Michel Legrand: Pieces of Dreams

    Little cat lost

In search of little cat found

    No need to run away

    You can stay

    And find the love

    Why must you fight?

    Everything will be alright!

    You’ll find many friends

    And love without end!

    …….

    Little cat ill

In search of little cat well

You will not come to harm

In the arms of one you can love!

    Running away

    Will lead you further astray!

And you have no need to fear

All that you need is right here!

    …….

    Little cats now

There is no need to roam

It’s time to give your love

    And receive your love

    Look and see

    Now at last you’re home!!

Important note: I’m sure that none of these bites even scratched the skin.

However, cat bites are ALWAYS serious and should be treated as such – and if they break the skin or, worse yet, draw blood, then you MUST go straight to the doctor for some heavy-duty antibiotics. Taking chances can result in serious risk to life and limb within hours.

This goes triply so if you don’t know if the cat has been vaccinated against rabies, of course, but rabies at least takes its time to manifest. Sepsis kills fast.

I love how Beatrix just immediately reverts to reporting the news and basically everything the Man does in this one. Since he needed Puck to save him from the robo-snake, he might be in over his head. I am sure the People and Tommy’s Woman will figure out a way to help her, so tune in next week.

My old Calico, Dot, was a purring bomb who would just conk out after wreaking havoc. You could force her to sleep by talking right at her face softly. She would protest when you did this, and then just conk out.

For your prayers & comforting thoughts: yesterday, my friend had to have her beloved Shiloh sent over the Rainbow Bridge. Shiloh was a very impressive Maine all creamy-smokey-fluffy & a personality like no other Maine. She was also 19 years & 6 months old. My friend didn’t say much, but, I know she’s just destroyed inside. She & her hubs are in their 70’s now, so, there’ll be no lil furrball coming to help fill the void. Thank you, for your compassion for my pal.

If the people adopt both kittens, will they run afoul of any local ordinances? Providence has a limit of 3. I couldn’t find any specific information about other RI towns. I worry that having 6 cats starts to put them under the category of “crazy cat people.”

I found a site that said, “According to experts, an individual must not have more than five cats. If you really love cats, six is the maximum. There is no going more than.”

I couldn’t help thinking of this childhood favorite of mine:

    He’s nothing much but fur

And two round eyes of blue,

    He has a giant purr

    And a m1dget mew.

He darts and pats the air,

He starts and c0cks his ear,

    When there is nothing there

For him to see and hear.

    He runs around in rings,

    But why we cannot tell;

    With sideways leaps he springs

    At things invisible -

    Then half-way through a leap

    His startled eyeballs close,

And he drops off to sleep

With one paw on his nose.

The trick is to yelp at every bite, as though it was killing you, until they learn to control their attacks (assuming these are “play bites”).

I did that the first time Colette bit me when she was a kitten. She froze. I could see her thinking. “OMG. I hurt a giant.”

For anything really aggressive, supple garden gloves are essential for kitten wrangling (and a squirt gun).

Every kitten I have had goes through a “jaw strength calibration” phrase. The kitten will put its teeth around your finger and apply gradually increasing pressure. "Does this hurt? How about this? "

    “Ouch! Yes, stop.”

It is important not to be stoic and to always overreact before it actually becomes painful.

Yah. When we got married many years ago we found a cute little sortie and cream. She was so sweet. We called her “Bitey” for reasons that were obvious. Nice, sweet, gentle and full of purrs. But for no apparent reason she would just come up and bite you.

You have just described all kittens, Man. One would think you’ve never encountered one before.

I’m gonna guess Ora Z was going for intimidation more than actual damage, as she was bouncing around instead of latching on and not letting go. Still, as other commenters have suggested, at the least clean those wounds VERY well!

Heh. I resemble that. Nyla can push her way out of her cage if I forget to clip the bottom closed – I woke up last night to my toes being chomped. (she stays in the cage at night to be able to have food anytime). Right now the 3 babies (Pepper, 3; Moonlight 1.4; Nyla 4 mo) are barrelling around the house chasing each other!
