Well, at least it’s not a battery this time. The Boy is learning what is appropriate to sneak to the cats. (Now, he just needs to learn to sneak!)

Grill some ham as part of that sandwich along with that cheese, and Puck would be so ecstatic.

Maybe Lupin should try the soup, since he appears to be all-white again. Perhaps he’s content to only occasionally experiment with color.

my girls love cheese too. I make grilled cheese with a blend of shredded cheddar, gouda and asiago. Sara knows what the package looks like and demands some. so they both get a small taste. also, love Pucky saying hold the tomato soup LOL

Cats do like cheese. Probably more so than mice. Such stereotype that the rodents are the ones that like cheese, when it’s grains they prefer.

Never understood the appeal of tomato soup

Loaner Cat likes neither cheese, nor tomato soup nor much of anything like that. She’s so picky. However, I love grilled cheese and tomato soup! Loaner Cat will watch me eat it, she just wants no part of it.

The last panel is my middle black boi every morning while I eat breakfast. He has to be in my lap and insists that we are sharing breakfast – even though he’s already had crunchy breakfast and soft breakfast. I think he’s part hobbit who thinks third breakfast is a must.

The Boy looks all too happy to share! When you have a cat that loves food as much as Puck, it is hard to resist.

Hey now he offered it. It’s not Pucky’s fault. Both the Boy and Puck are adorable in that last panel though. I also notice the kids are slowly aging. There still a ways behind the real ones (And I only know that because of Georgia’s 24 hour comic day doodles and various posts on instagram), but i’m glad their not just stuck as toddlers like I feared they’d be, especially since they keep calling their room the nursery.

Point is with pet’s there’s a line between trying to steal your food while you leave it down somewhere (As my late cat and very much alive dog have tried), or if it drops, and your young son offering it to the cat. Pucky was offered cheese and he took it. I think we all would do the same.

I love the combination of a grilled cheese (cheddar, coby/jack, or even Kraft singles) sandwich and a hot bowl of Campbell’s tomato soup (with real milk instead of water).

Grilled cheese and tomato soup. Oh. My. Cat!!! That is the best after a snow day!!!

Now that Lupin is white again it’s time he got into the tomato soup and turn pink again.

It has been established that by law, you have to cut your grilled cheese diagonally. Furthermore, dipping the corner of the sandwich into the soup is mandatory.

I keep Campbell’s Tomato Soup in the pantry. I make it with half and half, add a dollop of ketchup and a squeeze of squeeze of sciracha. I also stir in a generous handful of grated cheese (aged cheddar or nacho). It’s delicious and I don’t need a sandwich on the side.

Give Lupin the tomato soup. Maybe he can get pinker again. Back to blush (or darker.)

I’m not too fond of tomato soup, either.

Wait, what about ora zella? Is she star shining in the snow? Doesn’t she deserve cheese too?

Oh Lupin, you took too many baths and are back to just white. I’m sad. Get into the tomato soup or some other red substance & get pink again!!!!

Mr Kitty never cared for cheese or most human foods, but my golden retriever Molly adored the stuff. She had a psychic connection to cheese. She could be a quarter mile away playing in the creek with the neighborhood kids yet would come charging up when I pulled some out of the fridge. It happened so much it wasn’t a coincidence.

All my cats have always loved tomato soup too, not just the cheese. Hmmm…. lunch…..

Gee, what a shock. The Woman—I think—is yellow some other cat’s name besides Lupin!

OT, Oliver: Ollie & Felix seemed to have reached a detente, but O was driving us crazy by clawing at the front door. We’d let him out for brief excursions ‘round the barnyard, and he always seemed pretty ready to be called back in- always reinforced by a bit of kibble. But monday afternoon he was particularly antsy & when i let him out, he went walkabout and didn’t respond to calls. We live in a rural area, and coyote hunters & trappers are active just now, we also have bobcats, fox, stray dogs, great horned owls (aggressive in this nesting season), and occasional eagles. We knew he was semi-feral and capable of defending himself, but of course i was worried, especially when he didn’t show up by tuesday or wednesday morning.

Last night as i was washing up from dinner came a plaintive mewing at the back door. The prodigal had returned. His long hair was a tangled mess of burdock stickers, and he patiently submitted to a half hour’s brush-out. Some clumps needed to be cut out, and his tail still has some burrs. He was and remains ravenously hungry. Felix actually came up, touched noses, and gave Oliver a good sniff over- it was as if he actually missed his roommate.

In another farm-cat news, we have a black and white kitty who occasionally appears on the trail cameras. We call him Ranger or Bandit. Yesterday pre-dawn i happened to turn on the back porch light and saw Ranger (i like that name better) sheltered from the wind there. He got up & moved across the yard to the steps of the outbuilding and sat there til dawn. He’s welcome to return, tho’ i don’t think he’ll be as friendly as Oliver or be allowed in the house.

Cats loooooooooooove cheese! ❤ I never knew that until our vet recommended we wrap the kittens’ worming pill in a slice of cheese. Worked like a charm! They devoured it like a precious delicacy! :)

I’m with Pucky. And make sure Lupin doesn’t get into the tomato soup, either!

I guess this means the Woman was giving Lupin a bath (yesterday) while the Children and probably the Man were out in the snow (Tuesday), and now they’re all back together again (today). Continuity! I love it!

My late loving wife really loved grilled cheese and tomato soup night. Sadly I was just diagnosed with cancer of the esophagus and now I can’t really eat anything that requires me to chew it. Pretty much all liquid and Ensure, not even sure when or whether it is treatable, waiting for a PET scan to see if it has spread too far.

DON’T PANIC! Lupin is back to “normal.”

I wonder if there’s a connection between mostly black cats and a love of cheese. 8-ball has a passion for cheese.

I recommend the Croque Monsieur as did another reader and grilled cheese connoisseur… My Lucy just wants the butter.

Hmmm, wonder if Vlad would have liked tomato soup? He like it when I ate tomatoes like an apple. He would even ask for a slice when I made something with fresh tomatoes. And it would be gone when I turned around. Sometimes asked for more. He was definitely mommy’s cat. Miss him every day. I miss Natasha and Ash both fighting over my lap too.

It looks like the Boy caught a small shark with that grilled cheese bait!
