It’s past time to switch to Luann and Piro’s story reading and any development in their relationship. And I’d like to see Bets and Gunther fronting a cosplay booth. Heck I’d even watch Ms Phelps give horribly inadequate career counseling. T’d Teas has run out of gas
Well, looks like there will be a fight, after all. Just not the fight I expected – between Tiffany and Steffi about Kip. Instead, it’s a fight between Steffi and Dez — who I never thought would get angry about anything. Maybe this is what gets Steffi kicked out of the dorm…
panel 2: stef may not be selling any tea with her impromptu routine, but she’s probably giving any guys a show…especially if she’s going commando. And stef definitely seems like the type to go commando.
Stef has managed the difficult task of doing something that displeases Dez. Maybe if she continues telling lies, she’ll even be able to make her angry. Honesty is important to Dez, if Stef wants to pay her back, she’ll have to find rhymes based on the truth. Kip seems happy to see Dez’s protest. Does he admire her integrity or is he simply happy when someone tries to reason with Stef? Their relationship is looking more and more like a disaster.
Kip STARTED the whole thing by saying “you can help with sales, after all, you owe Dez $600”. That implies she could work off some of what she owes and she went after it with a vengeance. Do you honestly think Stef would be knocking herself out if she didn’t think she would profit from it somehow?? Get real.
Dez is witnessing commercialism destroying innocence. Her perfectly nice little tea blend has been turned into a money making venture and now the chickens have come home to roost. Who knows? Maybe the power of suggestion will convince people they feel more fit and sexy after drinking it. Stranger things have happened.
It will be funny when Show Off Steffanie tells Dez she was killing herself cheering to help pay back the $600 and Dez tells her she never expected her to pay it back at all.
Interesting….. Dez is upset by Steph’s “hyping” up the product.
1. But, come on now….. Dez’s little “wiggling her finger over the tea” routine also DID NOT make the tea leaves into a true “love potion”, “aphrodisiac” or “libido energizer” either. So, Steph’s enthusiastic promotion of the tea as an “invigorator” of fitness is not any less supported in reality.
2. Even though I normally do not like Steph…. today I am looking kindly upon her because this is the first time I have seen her be helpful and wanting to do something for others and not just for herself. That should be applauded, IMO.
3. All the hyperbole about the whole range of “benefits” of the tea….. just snake oil nonsense and placebo effect.
So…. while Dez has a right to be upset about how her tea is being promoted…. IMO the way Dez (and Tiff and Kip) are promoting the tea is really no more honest and real. So the “honesty” line by Dez….. blech.
Drinking that tea instead of soda probably does promote fitness, Dez. Don’t be so quick to dismiss it; I don’t remember that chick saying it’s magic tea.
To look at the other side of the coin, so to speak – anybody who believes that a tea can produce those kinds of results just because a cheerleader is shouting them out, deserves what they get. (Caveat emptor – let the buyer beware!) Though of course most people buy their health products at fairs, lol.
Judging by current and long-standing advertising policies, I think it would be safe to say that drinking tea contributes to all of those. So does drinking water, which tea is mostly made of.
Panel Two has me thinking about a movie I haven’t seen in decades: Hollywood Knights (I think that’s the title). It’s about a gang of teenagers who prank the town in response to their favourite hangout, Tubby’s Drive-In, about to be shut down.
I don’t know if this was an intended prank or not, but one scene has a high school celebration with cheerleaders doing a routine, and one of them forgot something rather important… her underwear.
