I’m sorry Lupin, but you’re not a kitten anymore. Kittens can get away with almost anything, more er, mature, cats are supposed to know better.

My Sara likes to have me sing to her too. Fortunately, neither of my girls will claw my beard, though they do love when I rub against them with it. Serious snuggle time.

Are we sure that the Man isn’t actually some kind of lizard? I mean, he keeps losing his tail and regrowing it. (And what kind of predator keeps attacking him?)

And, we have ANGRY Toebeans from Lupin!

She certainly figured out how to work The Man pretty fast!

I guess it’s hard on the youngest sibling when they are no longer the youngest sibling. Being an only child, I never had that problem

Because she’s about 4 and your about 40 (in cat years

Sing her to sleep while she plays you like a violin!

Hush little tortie, don’t mew a word/ Papa’s going to give you a catnip bird.

And if that birdie don’t make you sing/ Papa’s going to give you a bacon ring.

And when that bacon ring is gone/ Papa’s going to play with you until early dawn.

And if Papa falls asleep/ You’ll have to wake him up next week.

OT: I had to put my Misty to sleep yesterday. She had major kidney disease and wasn’t eating.

She’s a daddy’s girl.

I think Lupin’s issue might be more that Ora Zella has the Man’s attention than the unfairness of it all. Don’t worry, Lupin, at least she will never match your talent for turning invisible.

Lupin, don’t be upset. As an adult cat, you know you aren’t supposed to climb the curtains. Ora Zella is only a baby and she hasn’t learned yet. Judicious applications of the no-no spray bottle will teach her.

Meanwhile, Back on the Nile

Beatrixia: Looks like all the sisters met fine cats. Except for the youngest. What happened between her and Pink Lupin?

Elvis-Anum: According to the story, at the end of the Yarn Ball the four older sisters introduced their young cats to Tommy, who was delighted to meet them. But young Ora Zella was nowhere to be found.

Here’s the rest of the story:

Chef Tommy: I’m delighted to meet you, young cats. I am sure you all are fine, upstanding cat men.

Puck: I would like to ask you for Sophie’s paw in marriage, Chef Tommy.

Elvis: And I would like to court Tabitha, who is not intimidated by my poofing.

Chef Tommy: Agreed.

Captain Iggy: I must go back to my ship, but I would like to come to an understanding with Beatrix. When I’m back from sailing and she completes her studies at University, we would like to wed.

Burt: And I would like to wed Goldie as soon as I have made Run Down Estate Habitable.

Chef Tommy: This is all wonderful news. But where is Ora Zella?

Puck: Oh, no! It seems Pink Lupin is missing as well!

Lupin, those are just the realities of life, one day you are king of the world and can do no wrong, the next day you are just one of the peasants trying to stay out of the line of fire.

Looks like she’s learned how to pull a Nermal.

I’m so sorry. Gentle purrs of comfort from us at Malaria Gardens. My girls will get extra love tonight in her memory.

When you get stuck on the curtains, you can do a lot of damage, Lupin. When Ora Zella gets caught on the curtains, she’s too small to do much harm.

It’s unfair when you’re older and you can’t get away with all the fun things you could do when you were younger. You hear things like “you should know better” or “aren’t you too old for this” or “did you think you’d actually fit inside that McDonald’s play place”.

Very smol kitties’ needle-like claws allow them to levitate up almost any slightly porous vertical surface. (I wonder if it’s a phenomenon related to newborn humans’ ability to reflexively grab with enough strength to support their body weight.) But to their chagrin, this super-power doesn’t last, and they enter the “puff-up-at-anything” stage, followed by the “staple-everything-with-my-fangs-because-I’m-teething” stage. Then they discover they can no longer fit behind the china cabinet as part of their “zoomies” route.

Love the stages they go through! What others have I forgotten?

I always loved to strip where Elvis was stuck on the curtains and he refused help from the man. Only wanted his Mommy to help him.
