With friends like that..

Totally feel you Luann; I can’t stand when other people start brown-nosing around in my projects whenever I’m trying to work, it just completely throws me off my game.

This is so annoying because we went through all this once before when Bernice told Luann she would write, and when Tara told her about the on-line writing community and the 50,000 words by November, and in Mrs. Horner’s writing class. And proposed two award-winning stories. Have the writers forgotten all of this or are they stuck trying to think of what to do next?

Good summery of Tara’s suggestions from a couple weeks ago. Now can we get some new plot character development ourselves!

Now, WHY is it that whenever Bernice is studying, she EXPECTS Luann to leave her alone.

But when Lu is trying to “study,” Bernie is all “In Your face, Blab-City?”

Of course, if Greg and Karen are attempting to make Bernice even MORE Unlikable this week, they’ve just succeeded beyond ALL Expectations.

There’s not even a joke here. Bernice isn’t making any sense, there’s nothing wrong with taking notes.

I think Bernice needs to read the book How To Treat Your Best Friend.. For Dummies!

Inspiration strikes Luann and she writes a book called, “The Muse Who Mouthed-Off” it’s about a muse who does the opposite of inspiring people. Instead of fostering imagination this muse goes around discouraging creative expression and gets smug satisfaction from being snarky and condescending. Luann would get really creative when Miss Madmoiselle Muse gets karmic retribution. She can even dedicate the book to Bernice.

’m getting tired of Bernice being unkind and smug as her main character traits. But that’s on me I guess… the writers are entitled to craft this how they wish, which means it’s time for me to take a break here.

Just once I’d like to see Nancy catch B’s snarky demeaning comments to her daughter and shut her down. Ever wonder what feeds Luann’s self-esteem issues on the regular.

Normally Bernice doesn’t bother me, but this week she needs to find a new hobby. Luann should also find a more private place to write. Writing in cafés is probably the worst place to concentrate…

I think Bern is trying to be supportive but failing miserably.

All very good points she should do well if she follows her instructions. Now to keep my beloved Bernice happy, just throw in a car chase or two and maybe she’ll be alright.

Bernice, how is she supposed to get any writing done if you keep bugging her!?!!?!?!

Bernice needs to remember she’s a guest here. Intruding on the family that’s taken you in out of kindness and making them wish you were gone isn’t a great idea. Maybe I feel more strongly about this because I’m a writer but I would be showing her the door.

People gettin’ on Bernice, but they forget she’s ALWAYS been like that, and Luann can give as good as she gets. It may not be YOUR friendship, but it’s theirs and they make it work. I should know: Me and my best friend of 20+ years are like this too.

Erma Bombeck would cure writer’s block by reading soup cans, cereal boxes, cake mix labels, …

Maybe Luann will end up writing about Bernice.

Bernice acting like a snarky bully (snarkcissist), trying to take over the situation. Luann is coming back with clever lines that Bernice might not be getting.

Writing in the basement or in the attic could also be a solution to avoid very annoying “nuisances”. Bernice seems to really enjoy teasing Luann. I hope she can also be able to suggest something that can help her, otherwise it’s just sadism. It’s nice to see that Luann has several books on how to become a writer. I hope yesterday’s specific reference to Stephen King means she wants to write a thriller or a horror.

This is sibling behaviour.

Bernice needs to stop minding everyone’s business but her own.

Sigh! Are we still in dream time while Tiff suffers in her delusions? Does Stephen King write books for dummies now?

I once read a novel where the chapters were randomly arranged. Author thought it was clever that you needed to read it twice to get it straight. Survey says, 60% didn’t finish the first reading.

Bernice is so horrible and narcissistic that she makes Pepper Ann look like a saint.

It’s funny because Bernice is a terrible friend. Ha-ha?

Luann should tell Bern to chill or she’ll hide her electric toothbrush.

I know the focus is on Bern and her critically snarky perspective, which performs, ironically, a good summary of the arc in question: here that Luann seems to be getting serious about writing, by making sure is aware of and carries out the fundamentals If she does, a wholly new perspective is about to happen.

My mom made us take typing and business courses because she told us at age 13 when we turned 18 we’d better have a job to support ourselves. We didn’t get the luxury of considering what we liked to do.

Plot?

Bernice, 3 words, Nil, Jack, Piro!

Bernice is hilarious! She’s desperately trying to cajole Luann into writing something, anything! Even writing a grocery list would be more than what she’s doing right now. Luann’s going to keep analyzing it and making notes until she gets bored and gives up (as usual). A true writer, someone with imagination and drive, would be making up stories, even if they aren’t a best seller. They would have been making up stories their whole lives. Luann should give up now before she invests too much time into something she isn’t innately pre-destined for, and pursue something she is actually good at, like getting a job in the child care industry and maybe opening her own day care center someday (that is, if she can keep people with weapons away from the children).

This is going nowhere. How about tomorrow we watch ‘Shoog’ judge the “Miss Yam Pageant”!

Piro, Tara, Jack, Tiffany, Kip, Brad, Toni and TJ, are all more interesting characters than Bernice.

“Done is better than perfect, because perfect never gets done.” I’ve never heard that – and I needed to hear that! I think I’ll be adding a new little note line at the top of my monitor…

For someone who insists on complete privacy and solitude when studying or working, Bernice sure seems unwilling to give it to Luann when the tables are turned.

Privacy is a MUST……..

Working for the government taught me something about writing. They had a cure for writer’s block called 8 am.

I’ll bet Luann is getting lots of plot ideas right now. All of them ways to kill Bernice. All fictional, of course.

Some folks here complain that the characters never grow, but it seems to me that Bernie does, and very much as in real-life: she’s becoming more and more like she’s always been. In her case, “more and more” means “worse and worse.”

We can take a collective sigh of relief at the fact that Bernie didn’t decide to become a life guard or doctor

Study? Work? Luann???

Bernice needs to just leave. She’s so annoying.

And as they left the San Diego Comic Com, Gunther and Bets were taken hostage by somebody called Peacemaker.

The name fooled t hem and they allowed him to approach.

Maybe this is the arc where Luann tells Bernie to hit the road.

SMH…the one time Luann appears to actually be getting serious about something, and readers are already criticizing her along with this lame excuse for a BFF…

It’s nice to have friends who can rag on each other with no hard feelings. Too bad Bernice isn’t one of those.

Why does Luann have to make flashcards for the techniques she’s reading about? Can’t she make a list? Seems kind of pre-school to me.

Wonder what Luann’s family would think if they realized how Bernice treated her? At my house the you know what would hit the fan. Bernice needs an intervention or a kick in the back side……or both.
