Coming Soon 👀 At the beginning of April, you’ll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
Friend of mine’s mother keeps sending me links to X. I’ve told her several times I don’t have the app, never did and never will. I just delete the links. My life is very free.
Just the other day, I received a message from a friend saying “My Instagram has been hacked. Don’t pay attention to anything posted there.” The last thing I remember before passing out is the doctor saying “Call me when he stops laughing. I can’t operate a hernia if he keeps shaking!”
Absolutely. I am firm believer that life is 10% what happens and 90% how we “choose” to react to it. I have no control over other people, but I have complete control over my attitude and actions
It’s important to periodically get out of the pool you’re in – to see what (else) is going on out there, to see what types of things others are doing, and to consider what else you might do.
The world according to Monty Python: “Life’s a piece of sh!t, when you look at it—so look on the bright side of life!” Don’t read the news—read the comics!
I get tired of people complaining on Twitter. I tried Bluesky and it is not much better there, so many complaints! As much as FB drives me nuts, I at least get to see posts from people swimming in the pool O goodness. There and on MeWe where I can pick and choose what I will let into my brain.
Who needs Twitter (never X!) when I’m literally surrounded by real-life Twits (aka red-hatted troglodytes)? As far as my eye can see, there ain’t no “Pool O’ Goodness.”
Here’s another “social media” I’ve quit: NextDoor. Originally when it came out it was easy to filter out all communities but your own neighborhood and stay in touch with neighbors and immediate-community goings on. But now it’s just another cesspool of mean conversation, hate talk, “I lost my dog,” “Did anyone hear a gunshot,” and “I’ve got these things for sale”, plus way too many ads — and I see comments from the states away! At one point I was designated as a Moderator, and couldn’t keep up with the complaints – many of which were basically “I didn’t like what he said.”
Ignorance is bliss. That is why those people who understand things are upset and concerned. Those who only hear what they want are the source of deep concern. They can laugh and play as “Rome burns”.
Life is pretty simple. When you get up in the morning, you decide if you are going to have a good day or a bad day. It’s what you make of it.(Unless brandon is still president then we’re still screwed).

Once upon a time, in FIDONET land, you could create a twit list, to remove people from those whose posts you would see.
Now, they do it voluntarily, and you have to go looking for them to find them.
That’s a step forward.
