Is he Santa, or Alice in Wonderland? Eat Me! Drink Me! So, by that logic, Lupin is obviously the Mad Catter!

Makes sense, I suppose. After all, the poem does call them eight tiny reindeer.

Puck is right. The reindeer fly from roof to roof. Father Christmas doesn’t have to climb onto the roof. Lupin, you are correct about the size change to get down the chimney, but do try to keep your speculations within reasonable limits.

Could he use the quantum dimension like Antman? Or maybe he IS Antman with all that shrinking and getting better? Or maybe he’s Catman.

OK, Lupin, I was following along until you said Santa was riding the reindeer. To quote Pucky, “Nope, nope, nope!”

I’m repeating my theory that Santa is more like an octopus, able to fit in anywhere because he has no bones.

Originally in the North, it was Sleipnir who flew from roof to roof. Eight legs became eight reindeer.

Lupin has some good catnip. Perhaps Mittens told him how to get a hold of his catnip dealer, Stumpy.

I’m starting to like Lupin’s explanation of Santa. The Night Before Christmas aka A Visit from St. Nicholas describes him as small but chubby with tiny reindeer. Just reread that poem – magic!!

    Meanwhile, Back on the Nile

Puckmosis: It’s always good to see you, Kat-Mandu!

Ora Z: How do you like being a Papyrus Cat?

Kat-Mandu: It’s a great job. I get to deliver gifts, good news, and scrolls from all over. Of course, I have to deliver the good news and the bad.

Ora Z: Can’t you just shred the bad news?

Kat: No. Unfortunately, people need both the good and the bad.

Melpomene Bee: That’s like what I do. I represent the Muse of Tragedy. But my message is that tragedy and comedy are necessary to have a full life. And there’s always honey to sweeten things.

Puck: I like your Xanadu honey, Mel. It’s sweet and yet has a touch of salt as well. Very complex.

Mel: I always like to keep finding ways to improve. I’m just on the way to see Trevor about some exciting new flower varieties.

Kat: Great! Let us know how you make out.

Mel: At least I’ll do better than my sister Thalia. She tried to make honey from space time anemone nectar.

Puck: Oooh…How did that turn out?

Mel: No one knows. We can’t find the honey.

A really big Santa was supposed to be in the Ghostbusters Movie instead of the Stay Puff Marshmallow man, but the studio thought it might traumatize parents when their little ones learned that Santa wan’t real. Parents can be so unpredictable and fickle these days.

Lupin tells Pucky how it’s gonna be

When Santa goes down their small chimney

Though Puck and Elvis throw shade his way

Lupin knows that before the big day

Santa will shrink but not fade away

He knows Santa has to be that way

To fit inside his tiny sleigh

Santa grows bigger than a Cadillac

In the pink house while enjoying a snack

Santa Claus has got to be real

On Christmas morning, his magic’s revealed

    Santa’s real, won’t fade away

Ora believes what Lupin does say

If we believe, our hope won’t fade away

    At least not for today

    - Norman Petty / Charles Holly – Not Fade Away

Puck’s eyebrows, in the last panel, are getting pretty fierce (although the ears are still mostly upright). Will this friendly debate turn into a cuffing, swatting and hissing spectacle?

    In other news…

Animal Control showed up this morning to attempt to round up the dogs that attacked my orange plush yard cat last week. The dogs just kept moving out of the officer’s reach – which he said showed they don’t attack people. (Just other animals.)

Another officer was called in who brought a live-trap cage. That is now chained to a fixture in the yard where it’s out of direct sunshine most of the day.

And all day long the yard cats were in and out of the cage, stealing the dog kibble bait without triggering the latch. Cats! So my kid got some dog biscuits at the store and used one of those for bait – ten minutes later, we caught the first dog. Right about the time the Animal Control office closed for the day.

But we are on their list to come get the dog in the morning. I hope the pooch will be all right, stuck in the cage all night!
