I love that teenage Elvis’s face is colored correctly. Siamese kittens are very light-colored and only start darkening on the points (face, tail, and lower legs) as they age.

Reminiscent of Vampire Bananya from Bananya episode seven.

The Woman should have an easier time drawing.

I much prefer the very early rather naive style that Georgia penned . Today the strip can appear over produced (to my eyes). But that’s just me . I also prefer the early Mickey Mouse and Felix (keeps on walking) cartoons .

Interesting, I wonder where the Woman’s drawing hobby will take her. Perhaps we are going to get a comic within a comic.

For newbies here, the drawings of Elvis and Puck as kittens together is not part of the real world. Elvis was Georgia’s first cat, adopted before she got married. Puck was adopted as a kitten several years later and then Lupin a year or two later.

Project: Uplift Frodo

We did as much brainstorming as we could with Don’s RC Truck.

We can make a lift with it easily.

We can limit the capacity of the lift with a clutch that will slip if the weight is above 5 lbs.

This can be 3D printed and put on the pulley assembly. Using a multi-pulley system so that the take up can be reduced from full height to about 15% and fit in the motor box.

Since an RC truck has a Forward and reverse (go and stop) only, we need to be able to have the car stop at the top and bottom without Frodo’s help. There is also a remote operation for steering, where the wheels turn left or right. I toyed around with making the lift rotate at the top and bottom using the steering linkage from a Truck, but I really don’t need it. Frodo enters from the bottom facing the desk, and exits from the top, facing the desk interior. So, he doesn’t need turn.

So going to use Proximity switches on the lift car body and tube. Was thinking of putting it on the cable until we figured out a way to reduce the cable length by using take-up wheels and winders. If we used a full-length cable, it would be easy to fix a switch on it, but using these take-up wheels and winder means the same “eye” would pass the proximity switch multiple times.

While we can make a program with a logic counter to stop after so many revolutions, it is easier with using the lift-car body then it doesn’t need to count.

So far, according to Amazon, the RC Trucks and cables are coming tomorrow (Saturday -Amazon Day – with $3 Digital Discount for using amazon day). The tubing was ordered but two-week lead time. Feb. 6 is the tentative arrival date.

We talked about making the Lift look like the TARDIS inside the tube. But making a rectangular/square Tardis in a tube reduces the 6" diameter to 4″ × 4″ square Frodo fits easily, but I would rather give him the full area. Will investigate other decorative finishes later.

So, no new reports until Monday.

My father was ambidextrous. He claimed it was because he grew up on a farm and started working with his hands before he learned to write. He became an engineer and could work with his left hand almost as well as his right.
