Puck doesn’t seem frightened of the cursed cuckoo clock or the cursed weird hanging light. The knick-knack shelf is new to me, but it looks as though it is cursed as well.
Apparently my friend did not pick up her dogs and carry them around. When I picked up the little Scruffy One she looked concerned. But as I held him close while talking with her the look on his face was amazing.
This was a adorable and a nice break after a fairly tense week. A good one, the six will live forever but I’m happy to move on especially with patreon previews. I won’t reveal what’s coming but it’s good.
Georgia posted this very late yesterday. Thx to rgcviper for pointing it out. "I want to thank everyone for the support this week during BCN’s real life tiny news broadcast, straight from the scene of the funny pages. Thank you for your words of encouragement, for sharing this with people and reaching out to your newspapers, and for the enthusiasm you have shown myself and my colleagues! I still have high hopes that this can be corrected and women can be brought back into other newspapers that dropped us. And if not, I’ve read through many of your comments about a discrimination case (and had several attorneys reach out to me since the Washington Post article dropped) and I agree that may be inevitable. In addition to my own legal talks, I’ll support any action the syndicates, newspapers, NCS, or other cartoonists take to hold these companies accountable for wiping out the women cartoonists from their pages. Something will be figured out. There’s no option where Americans accept that nearly 350 newspapers host less than 2% comics credited to women in 2024. If Gannett is waiting for that to be their easy answer, that’s not it. It’s especially not it when mega-sellers like Dana Simpson were dropped, and humbly myself, Will Henry, and Steenz, all of whom also sell plenty of books and have a strong readership in schools.
…To quote Thimblefist, “It will be ok, because we will make it ok.”
Thank you for supporting Tabitha and Baba Mouse (and me) speak up this week. I was very anxious at the start of the week and so many of you were amazingly kind and supportive. Let’s hope folks heard us!! On Monday we return to our regularly scheduled programming!
When my husband was socializing Fractal as a kitten, at the sanctuary he was dropped off at there weren’t any chairs. Chris would carry Fractal around, cuddling, and talking to him. Fractal will be seven next month, he still loves to be carried around, and will often come ask for a random hug and snuggle. He’s an imp most of the time, but there’s no doubt he loves us.
And now for another episode of: What the heck is that? What’s the green thing in the last panel next to the bananas? Bag of chips? (That’s what I usually have on top of my fridge).
Georgia posted on facebook "Yes, today’s Sunday strip is based on real life! Here’s pictures of Pucky in his kittenhood, being picked up and shown things. (In this case a fly whizzing around the old apartment, which flew by in the second photo!) He still enjoys this, especially seeing the top of the fridge, which he’ll sometimes then gently scramble to hop on. "
This is interesting! I used to do this for my kitties, too! Is it a thing? I would hold my kitty and show them around and they would look around very, very inquisitively! A dog? Not at all.

The Carpenters: Top of the World
Such a feeling’s coming over me!
There are so many ordinary things to see
But hoisted high in the air
A new perspective is clear
And I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s all new!
Everything I want to go and see
Is now being shown especially for me!
And the reason is clear
Because the Woman is here
She lifts me up and shows it all to me!
I’m on the Top of the World
Looking down on creation
And the only explanation I can find!
Is the joy that I’ve found
As the Woman shows me around
Our love’s put me at the Top of the World!

Hey, hey, hey, hey
His sweetness gettin’ stronger
Rides are gettin’ longer, too
His mic is a-crashin’ free
She wants to, she wants to, she wants to take Puck higher
She’s gonna take Puck higher
Baby, baby, baby, li’l frequent flier (Woo)
Lifetime thrills he does desire
The fun that does transpire
Boom laka-laka-laka, Boom laka-lak-goon-ka boom
Hey, hey, hey, hey

Meanwhile, Back on the Nile
Elvis-Anum: Now that we have a printing press, I can write public service announcements. I’ve completed my article on the dangers of shelves.
Puckmosis: What should we be concerned about?
Elvis: Shelves can be high up, and we have to climb up to get to things on them. That could result in all sorts of dangers.
Puck: But there is so much to see. It might be worth the danger.
Elvis: Safety first. We don’t want to take chances.
Puck: But didn’t you have to take chances as a dancing corsair?
Elvis: That was before I knew better.
Puck: But isn’t there something you would like to do that’s just a bit risky? Maybe not like Lupinium or Ora Z, but something.
Elvis: Well, sometimes I miss the sea.
Puck: I know just what to do.
Sometime Later, at the Harbor
Salt Water Cat: We’re glad you were able to join us on the fishing trip, Elvis.
Fresh Water Cat: Iggy’s coming along, too.
Elvis: Well, I guess it’ll be alright.
Later, After the Fishing Trip
Elvis: Yay! I did it!
Iggy: It’s not every day you accomplish this!
