What happened after Bernice blew up girl’s night? Everyone looked happy until Bernice opened her mouth. This arc can be very drawn out if Gun is going to try to teach Bets moderation and having a balanced life with social media and not for social media.

Atta guy, Gunther! State what you want. Then maybe Bets can state what she wants. Then you can move forward in the relationship.

Aww, this is sweet! 2 observations

1. I love that it’s Gunther initiating this. It really shows that he’s understands her. The Bets Gunther fell for is the hardworking influencer who loves her job and adventure and he’s realizing that he prefers her that way. And I agree. Far better for her to be a busy creator with her own income than a couch potato who rely on her boyfriend for attention and affirmation.

2. I’ve seen some people speculate that they are going to break up but I doubt it. They’re in love, neither of them want to break up and this is an easy issue to fix. Couples deal with worse all the time

Also I am stunned at how nice the comment section has been towards Bets lately. It warms my heart :)

It’s possible to do things, enjoy life, have adventures – and NOT post about them! There is no law that says you can only do things if you also blog about them. Bets seems to think her life is only valid if lots of other people are watching (and, one assumes, approving). Good for her for stopping the constant attention-seeking, now she needs to realise that she is also allowed to do carry on doing what she enjoys.

Bets/Gun relationship is a work in progress, Gun takes steps to be more understanding of Bets. And they are actually talking to each other.

Besides Gunther hasn’t sewed in AGES. I guess he liked making costumes.

Surprise surprise. It seems Gunther is missing the cosplay part. I know he enjoys costuming and conventioning but does he miss performing for their Snapgram fans? That’s the bottom line.

What is we haven’t conned? Connected??

Bets realized that she can’t drop out from College and do Bets n Gun as a single act? Gunther likes Bets Malone as an entrepreneur?

They haven’t “conned” in ages?? What does that mean? Are they a couple of Bernie Madoffs??

Feels like Bets is trying to hold onto Gunther by becoming Gunther, or at least her version of Gunther. They really need to talk and figure out what makes them happy.

Good move for Gunther. Let’s see if Bets is mature enough to get on board, or will she derail the opportunity to better understand each other. If nothing else, I’m glad to see Gunther take his hand out from under the blanket. He was starting to worry me.

Come on you two, either do something that take a bit of brain work like playing a board or card game or else go for a walk together.

They are a great modern comic strip couple. So drawn to each other.

As far as Bets is concerned, she doesn’t want to do that stuff if she can’t stream it or get internet attention from it. Gunther needs to point out that they can go to cons and NOT do any internet stuff.

For Bets, if it’s not on a digital screen, it’s not happening.

Bets will have Gunther begging to sew new costumes and get back on board with the vlogging before the week is out. He was snarky enough to revel in his “Gun” popularity to Luann so he liked it just fine.

Living Bets or Zombie Bets, she will brain-dead anyway.

Oh good! They are finally talking. Maybe at last they can find a balance in their lives. So happy Gunther is expressing his feelings. Now she needs to express hers. They can still have fun and fulfilled lives without having to share it all with the social media community.

I have people ask my all the time, why I never take pictures or videos of the things I do. I always tell them. Because I’m living the moment. taking pictures is the last thing on my mind. Its interesting to see how many people can’t understand that concept.

Get involved in other things. There are plenty of ways to have positive experiences on a college campus. Don’t be so self-centered. GET INVOLVED!

Uh, you can go do cosplay at the conventions without broadcasting your every move to the world. It would be a hobby supplementing a PRODUCTIVE LIFE of providing needed and valued goods and services to others through real work.

Everything in its right place……

The “old” Bets was good all she needs to do is learn moderation and they’ll live happily ever after.

Bets is coming up with a mind-numbing, repetitious shows to watch in order for Gunther to break-down, get tired and insist that Bets go back her to “beloved” social media, so that SHE can be “Happy.”

What We have here, is not so much a “failure to communicate” but a text book example of a guy being waterboarded, and then given sufficient rope to HANG himself.

One truly has to admire the psychological insidious of Bets’ “plan.” Because in the end, if Gunther shows ANY future displeasure over Bets’ renewed social media obsession, well by gum, HE will have “asked for it.”

Gunny, you poor, kind-hearted, well meaning SAP, most guys in this situation start looking for a “side chick.”

But God help you if you find her. :-(

I’m so happy to see Gunther able to talk to Bets without the fear of hurting her. Their road trip really changed their relationship for the better, at least in that side. He sees her doing something he thinks is wrong and tells her, HOORAY! Gunter didn’t like the constant media exposure, but he really loved do cosplay and going to ComicCons with Bets. He don’t want stop doing it and he hates see Bets so passive. I hope this doesn’t lead to a breakup, but to Bets realizing she can do the things they love without having to share them with the world, or that they can share it with moderation.

Can’t they costume and comic-con without posting everything? People used to do things all of the time without sharing every second on social media. Go do something! Enjoy the experience. Take some pictures to look at later, like the good old days!

Bets is an extreme extrovert and is now trying to act like an introvert, Gun recognizes that that is not good for either of them or their relationship. Bets just needs to find a balance between being on social media and having private moments for only the two of them.

Bets is afraid if she doesn’t go cold turkey, and staying there, she’s going to be sucked into addiction again.

Now that Bets is “normal”, Gunther realises he liked it better when All Bets Are Off!

She’s got to find the middle ground. You can enjoy all the comic con and cosplay you want without an online audience.

Why is he yelling?? She’s sitting right next to him. That’s the sign of an immature loser. Someone who has to shout to express themselves, like a baby. Dump him Bets, you can’t wait for him to grow up.

The passive aggressiveness of Bets’ body-language’s the only part of today’s strip making me laugh. This is not what a happy relationship looks like. This is pretty bitter. Sad part is they’re most likely not going to break up even though their approach to being on different pages tend to be “cold shoulder, ignore the issue, and passive aggression.” It’s like slow torture.

Being Zombies is not that fun.

Thinking back to when they did cosplay and go to a con together, I think the issue is Gun sees cons as a place to engage and interact with fans, while Bets sees them as a place to engage and interact with HER fans. In her mind there’s no point now that she’s killed her socials

I’ve noticed that when the internet goes out people start talking. We are a little rusty at first, but soon we are enjoying each other. I’m thinking of shutting it down for an hour or so every day.

I said it yesterday, but the comment got shuffled to the “also ran” department. It’s all about balance. These two are learning the invaluable lesson of balance in all things.

So, I am just wondering why Bets doesn’t want the costuming and the con-going by itself. That sounds like a lot of fun. The main problem was allowing too much of social media to consume them. What if they just did the stuff they liked for the fun of doing it, minus the “showing it to everyone else on earth and getting them to comment” part?

Bets needs to open a dictionary and look up the words addiction and moderation and then go see a psychologist because she obviously cant handle it.

As dark as it sounds, this almost feels like a date rape! Bets dedicated so much to her fandom, did so much to please them. And they turned on her. Now she hides her true self away. Afraid of being hurt again.

Given the look in Bets’ eyes, I wonder if Greg and Karen are going to have Bets doing drugs? She’s acting really stoned. California is a weed legal state and a few good brownies would have Bets tripping balls all day long.

Gunther wants the “living Betts” in what context? In one context, how much privacy do they have, and, for how long?

Gunther is seeking growth. Does Bets want to grow?
