I suspect she thought a month was like a day and is just now realizing her dad’s gonna be gone longer than a day or a few days.

Shannon is not a child who cries often. I think this is the fourth time she has cried in the strip and two of those times it was because her father was not with her. Poor child, she must love her father very much. Brad will now have to do it on his own to comfort her and make her stop crying, I’m sure he can do it.

I thought Jonah would at least tell his daughter what was going on.

It appears that no one has taught this child ANYTHING, which explains her rudeness.

I’m sorry, but I really can’t stand Shannon and her antics. Maybe she’ll finally grow up a little in this story line, but not if they keep spoiling her because her dad neglects her.

Bwad is already acting like a dad. Loading the washer, getting the kid to take a shower, etc., a good dad.

I think she’s crying because she suddenly realized how long it will be until she sees her father. Actually Shannon’s character is changing. She’s growing up, and Brad & Toni are great influences on her.

I just hope we’re not in for a month of another drivel story line.

It’s not just Shannon- adults also often don’t hear unpleasant things that they REALLY don’t want to hear. That’s why it’s a good idea to have a trusted adult with you when you visit the doctor to hear the results of your diagnostic tests.

End of arc, please. Let’s forget the kid’s shower and get back to Tiffany getting ready for, and taking her hot, steamy shower.

No no no. You don’t run laundry at the same time someone’s taking a shower. The washing machine wreaks havoc with the water pressure and temperature.

So what happened to the Shannon who was begging her dad to let her stay for a “whole month” and telling Brad they’ll need to get a puppy?

More and more I suspect this comic is being ai generated. The story lines are inconsistent and the characters don’t, well, stay in character. Or maybe G&K are getting senile and can’t remember what the story is anymore, even from just a couple of weeks ago? Maybe they just like to confuse and irritate their readers. Weird.

Based on the comments from people who post here daily (who I KNOW have seen all the previous strips) it seems there is a major epidemic of amnesia among all you readers. Better get a checkup.

she is such a brat

It seems that crying removed the stains from her shirt. If only laundry were that simple.

You know I hope it is about her Dad, it’s good for her to be open and honest about how she feels. Everyone passes a lot of judgment in the comments about her and her behavior/attitude and also about Jonah. However, she’s still a kid and Jonah’s a father and an adult. He is supposed to have the mental maturity that Brad tries to display as a parent figure. Shannon is young and still developing, talking in circles here but maybe stop passing judgment on her for things when right now how she feels especially if it’s her Dad being gone for a month is completely valid feeling for her to have. It’s not like they can say oh he’s doing what he’s doing out of love but they can’t say oh he just did it for himself. There aren’t really good answers Brad and Toni can give her on that front and just need to be supportive and loving even if she is bratty at times.

There it is! All this time the little one was just distracting herself from the reality that she misses her dad. Give her a big hug and show her lots of love, okay Brad? XOXO

Perhaps she didn’t realize how long a month is. Or how the artists missed her dirty shirt. Or she misses her Dad. Or she’s still manipulative.

I’m amazed at the amount of laundry Brad has, again. If and when Toni gets home, there will be nothing for her to do but play with Shannon, making Brad look like the bad guy.

Hey, JP1 – I am posting about a follow-up to a thread on July 23. You wrote, Sorry folks, but this story line is just yet another “exercise in nothingness”. Is the Romance Novel Life thing going to be followed up on to provide us some satisfaction there, or were you just selling us a bill of goods? Payoffs, money shots, satisfying outcomes, etc. are not yet in the cards for Luann. All the noble claims that he’s trying to make the strip better, to inspire GnK to new heights, are wonderful displays of arrogance. Gold medal stuff. The final rules requirement at The Comics Curmudgeon is “Don’t be an insufferable p***k.” You’re certainly not one. You’re a good man JPW, I see you follow a lot of comics with enjoyment. That’s good for the industry.
