I like how the granny leprechaun — dang it, I can’t remember her name! — is taking care of Iggy, and seems more than happy to let Ora Zella discipline her obstreperous son. OZ for the WIN!!
And here I thought our Roxy catching birds was bad. I can’t be certain of her life before she came to live with us, but I am positive she has never caught a leprechaun or at least never brought one into the house.
You don’t want to be eating leprechauns, Ora Zella; if you get a bad one, you’ll be barfing rainbows for days. (Leprechauns are a good choice for those following a vegan diet, however, as the fact that they’re imaginary means they contain no meat.)♥
Aha, the last time the young leprechaun visited the house, he scared the kids and had to be reeled in by his Mom, nice to see that he did not foresee that Ora Zella was not about to let this intruder bully her best friend.
From Georgia: “Well, Ora Zella tracked a leprechaun as far as the Boy’s room but lost the trail! The Girl had a new approach to her leprechaun trap this year. She set up a cozy chair with a little blanket, a notebook for journaling, and some of her shamrock shake. Her hope is that a leprechaun gets comfy enough to fall asleep until morning (with a trip wire and a basket overhead just in case) Hopefully one of them takes the bait before dawn, cozies up and drifts off”
Good girl, Ora Zella. You teach that nasty leprechaun a lesson! Goldie shoulda let you finish the job! Nobody messes with poor Iggy and gets away with it.
Seamus didn’t make a good impression on OZ when he painted Iggy green, and you know you’ve angered a cat when they utter that low growl that’s combined with a whipping about tail.
Not sure I am on Ora Zilla’s side here. Chocolate is not good for cats. While painting him green may not be nice, keeping him away from the foil covered chocolates could save him a lot of pain.
“Georgia, Georgia, Georgia, how many times do we have to tell you, quit buying those cheap cat-nip infused cat toys from the Dollar Store. They are cheaply made, a chocking hazard, case illusions and hallucinations and stir up lots of trouble. Get them some high quality educational cat toys to keep their little, and I do mean little, minds occupied and life will be much easier for all. Preferably one they can start and manipulate on their own.
You don’t want to be known as the Crazy Cat Lady that lives in the Big Pink CRAZY House on the Hill now do you? You didn’t name the boy Norman by chance did you??
OOHHHH, you do not go around painting Iggy green!!!! The teeth on little OZ and a very, very unhappy expression. That leprechaun will not ever mess with OZ that’s for sure. (whip crack tail flick) And the Beautiful leprechaun queen cleaning up Iggy. All he wanted to do was to put them into nice straight lines, he had no other interest than that. “low dog growl” with little legs sticking out. And the look on Lupin’s face says it all.
If I had been having a party, An interesting idea came to me yesterday. It was to bake my chocolate syrup cake, but pour the batter into mini cake pans, rectangular mini bread pans? So as to give the effect of serving everyone their own brick of turf. LOL Long used as fuel in Irish chimneys. I actually have a briquette or two for my fireplace. Instead I baked myself some chocolate chocolate chip cookies. But the lil brick cakes is an idea I will put a pin in for another day.
Happy Saint Gertrude’s day everyone! I now have a new resident, Shelby. She is a dilute tortie, 2 years old, and formerly abused. She hides under the bed in the “isolation” room and only comes out to eat and use the litter box. With much coaxing, she will come out for “pets” and I can pick her up now (after 1 week). She is so scared of everything, poor kitty. My other three are no longer interested in checking her out. I think they decided she is no fun. She wasn’t going to get adopted because of her fear of everything so my husband figured she needed him (he picked her out and named her). I think in time she will trust us but I doubt she will ever socialize with the other cats or other people. At least she now has a safe, forever home. The cat rescue group told me I could trade her out for a more social kitty but I told them she deserves a permanent place. I do believe they were happy to hear that. Anyway, that is how we decided to celebrate this year, adopt.
I like to think that Lupin’s horror is because of the green paint. Been there, done that, gotten that bath. Otherwise I’m sure he’d be right in there with Ora Zella!
Happy to see the tables turned on the leprechaun as his mischievous acts tend to be a little mean-spirited! The gentle Iggy was only lining up the chocolate coins, not stealing them.
In honor of St. Patrick’s day, I’m baking a batch of Irish Soda bread; I hope it turns out well because today is the perfect day for some nice warm bread, fresh from the oven.

At the Royal Snack Room
Thomios: I have tea, scones, soda bread, Eire potatoes, and plenty of ham and cat-friendly chocolate. Our guests should arrive soon.
Beatrixia: I have a feeling I know who they are.
Puckmosis: I’ve opened up the treasure room. The Artisans have all they need, so our guests can take what they want.
Serfig-Aro: I am pleased to announce the arrival of Duffy and Trish O’Doyle.
Lupinium: Welcome, friends!
Duffy: I hear Elvis has been working on Elvish scrolls. I brought him some scrolls written in Old Gaelic for him to translate.
Elvis-Anum: I have learned some Old Gaelic in my travels as a Dancing Corsair.
Trish: I think I can be of some help with that.
Thomios: But first, some good Irish tea and coffee, and snacks.
