Looking at Les’ hair in the first panel, he keeps the top almost straight across flat. That way, it makes a good landing field for small aircraft. Like flies.

I knew a guy in high school that was super fussy about his hair and would get all bent out of shape if his hair got mussed. You guessed it, today he as bald as a cue ball. :)

For a kitten (and a lot of adult cats) EVERYTHING is a toy and up for grabs.

So, I have a radical notion. I think Evans should do a reboot of the strip and call it “Gunth”, it would be all about Gunther and Les! It would be far more interesting than Luann and Bernice.

Boy’s got a lot to learn.

This is a test in patience, cats are playful and as everyone points out have minds of their own. I have a neighbor who has a cat who is very happy with his cat door. We have a 12 house townhome association with 12 backyards, our common back area and parking lot, and in South Kenwood all kinds of old mansions with big yards dogs, animals, etc, and he is boss of them all. He goes out when he wants surveys, hunts, keeps other cats away, then goes home through his cat door. Cat’s life. Meows when he encounters me when I go out in the morning. I say hi Smoke. It probably took his employee, my neighbor some time to adjust to his beloved feline. I think Les will figure something out, maybe another cat. Hey Moe!!

I like how we can see the little claws as Punk is jumping.

Kittens can be very playful…. and at times a bit exasperating…. but…. hopefully Les…. even with all the gruff bluster he is spouting at the moment…. truly loves Punk and the story just continues about their interaction.

I would hate to see this story actually go to a point where Les decides to get rid of the cat…. which is an alternative route this could go….. but I sure as hell hope that this is not the intended direction.

It is interesting how Les is so protective of his “hairdo”. To me, he could use a haircut and a different style. And, like I suggest for Gunther, perhaps he should join the beard/mustache growing contingent to transform him a bit. The “soul patch” Les sports currently…. IMO…. is even worse than Gunther’s peachfuzz was.

Back in high school my ethnic White fellow students (I went to an all boys Catholic high school) often favored a hair style like Les’s. (back when they had hair). The name of the style, or the nickname? DA, AKA “Duck’s Ass.” Learn something new every day Pipe eh?

Who’s boss? The cat/s. Stoopid human.

He has a lot to learn about cats.

Punk continues in the Greg saga to morph Les into a new young adult character. It started long ago with him falling for Pru. It was the first time he indicated that he could be humiliated. It continued with his accommodation of Tiff for the waitress job and refusing to ally himself with Luann in her prurient interest in his roomie. Having him bond to a kitten adds to a softening of his image. He still shows a tough unfeeling image to the world and he definitely has his crude moments sometimes, but just where will Greg position him?

Will he become an embittered recluse? Just he and his cats? Will he become an extroverted acerb/ Will he find a romance interest to soothe his character flaws? Will he reconcile with his mother somewhere in the dim future?

Only GnK know; if even them.

He needs this cat to grow him.

& I think I know who that is.

And that would be ME, grease monkey! Cowa-freakin’-BUNGA!!!!

I think “NINJA KITTY” has wandered over from “ONE BIG HAPPY”.We’ve had at least 4 cats in our lives—-one of them was a Garfield-heavy who warped our outside flower box(his favorite sun spot).For abvious reasons,we named him “LOUDMOUTH”.

We could prolong this arc by showing Punk taking a nap for four frames every other day…

Les… Just trim that old mop you call a hairdo. Then your cat won’t jump on your head so often..

Punk is the most realistic kitten I’ve yet seen in a comic strip.

Oh, Les. You should know that when you live with a cat, the cat is ALWAYS in charge! And I say POOH to you who are dissing this arc! I lIKE it! Such a nice respite from all the drama.

And this is how Leslie got so many scars on his back in addition to having a shredded shirt covered in blood stains as a souvenir.

This match made in heaven is about to come to an end!!

Les might want to start manicure lessons for the little rascal. Kitten claws, while not long, are very painful!

Pets, be they cats or dogs, already know that people are just their servants, its new pet owners who need to understand that reality
