I wonder what info Tara will be able to get out of Piro.

Congrats to BuckarooDave for predicting Piro’s reappearance.

So will Luann meet up with them at the cafeteria?

Alright, back to a far more interesting arc that hasn’t grown stale yet!

So Tara plays the old “I’ll show you mine” gambit.

Will Piro take her up on her offer?

Will he learn that Tara is the one who broke into the vending machine?

Will she learn that Piro confessed to it to shield Bernice from getting into trouble for having him in her room after curfew?

Will he (and we) learn anything about what gave Tara the idea to break into the vending machine—and to steal the TV and other stuff?

And will she (and we) learn anything about his backstory—and his real name?

I’ll go out on a limb and guess that the answers to at least some of those questions will be yes. Answers to others may be “not yet.”

Best hook for an arc to come along in a loooong time!

Will Tara’s outgoing nature mesh with Not-the-Piro’s reticent one. Are they a match made in cartoon heaven?

So Tara makes the first move on Piro, international man of mystery. Will Luann come along later can call dibs? Will Tara learn Piro’s dark secret? Does Piro even have a secret? I was hoping for a Luann story, not a Tara story.

Pushy girl. Will Piro take back his tray once Tara lays it down on a table and move to another table or will he sit and eat, and tune out Tara’s white noise? I doubt he is interested in her. Tara is a pushy personality, so she took the choice away from Piro who gave zero indication of being interested in Tara, whether as a friend or whatever.

I presume this is taking place in the Pitts C.C. cafeteria? Piro was attending/proctoring at Moony U.

No one on earth would shave a star in their hair like that.let’s be serious.

That Tara knows how to hijack a conversation … even before there is one…

So I’m actually looking forward to this arc. Beats the last arc…

Tara now you just being rude he said no thanks and you are going sit down with Piro anyway.

That was a nice trick – taking Piro’s tray. So we will either learn more about Tara, or Luann will appear on the scene and Piro will let Luann rescue him.

If Piro is really totally not interested in Tara, he can just go back and grab another tray and start over…

Perhaps they will both end up taking night classes.

Oh, she’s good.

Wasn’t it Tara who Piro engaged in a question about Bernice? First Mrs. Phelps-Fogarty appears, then Piro, who next – Zebo or that little Elvis look alike guy?

Man, Piro looks like he is half in the bag. Perhaps G&K explore the topic of substance abuse with Piro being a primary example?

And it’s Funny, you two never met when you BOTH attended Mooney U.

Great move Tara. Dunno if Luann is with her in the cafeteria or not, but someone has to start finding out about Piro and Tara knows how to get people talking. Knowing that her friend likes him, she will pepper Piro with questions and then she will tell Luann everything she can find out. If Luann has lunch with them that would be even more fun to watch.

Everyone’s talking about Piro, and nobody says a thing about Tara. Well, I guess this is normal behavior for her.

Long story, huh? Maybe his IS interesting and compelling, but he reminds me of an InsertColorfulInsultHere I once knew. He was not at school because he got caught drug dealing (wasn’t hard since he lived out of his van, embracing the transient lifestyle in the BAD way). He only came back because he still had classes to take and it was a place to get free food and a room for a little bit (Don’t ask me how. I never figured that one out. My guess is the government paid for his classes, but even I don’t buy that.)

Tara knows nothing of this man. If he has been inside it is not a good idea to mess with his food.

All kinds of speculation here; both are interesting characters, both we could learn about. Like this misdirection play, so let’s go along for the ride I say, too often boring is described if we shift to Luann and/or Bernice, unfairly, but now we have a new arc to savor.

Did she take his tray?? What a pushy jerk.

I hope Piro takes it back, tells her “Learn to listen to people” and walks off.

From panel one to panel three, Tara’s green plastic bowl goes from round to oval.

You both sit down and talk about compulsive obsessions over minor meaningless artistic details in comic strips.

At least at this college they are not wearing face diapers.

“a little pushy aren’t we Tara”. Piro is put off by girls like this whom he’s probably used to, as well as girls who try to ensnare him with sexual charm. Tiff tried it and it didn’t work. Bern (while intrigued) wasn’t like that and I think he appreciated her because of it. I hope they eventually meet up again; but in the meantime this is all pretty entertaining.

I think Piro has a lot on his mind.

I hope Tara’s buying lunch.

“Then you decide which of us is most interesting.”

Careful Tara, Piro just might flash-over on you.

I wonder if Greg is going to remember when Tiffany was helping Piro and said she “knows his secret”. She kept him hidden and vowed to keep his secret safe. Maybe he’s an undercover cop, or in a witness protection program. That was back when Tiffany was moxy and smart though, so their back story friendship is probably down the rabbit hole.

This remindsof the cartoon from decades ago when, over dinner, the young lady tells her date: “I’ve talked enough about me. Now it’s your turn to talk about me.”

I’d sit with her. She IS interesting. I hear she poses nude- and I do a little painting…

Tara seems to think Piro is just shy and she can draw him out. I hope Tara is not one of those women who looks for a damaged person and thinks she can “fix” him. That is always a waste of time.

You know I know it’s “pushy” on Tara’s part, but since when is that a non-chauvinististically stereotype for a female? I don’t think pushy is right or fair and as sexist, as it might be racist to characterize diplomatically aggressive Bets as pushy. Can I make the quiet suggestion another term be used by a young woman who is not afraid to take the bull, literally, by the horns. Investigative journalist here we come! If Luann had the nerve to approach Piro and what might be, mistakenly, considered only the culture correctness that dudes can do, would she be “pushy?” Just me the old defender.

Maybe Tara can ask him how much time he spends shaving that star into his hair every morning.

Tara is an extrovert. Piro is probably an introvert. They would be a bad match romantically, for many reasons.

I like how Tara wasn’t deterred by Piro’s response.

I think Piro said No to talking about himself. He may not mind listening to Tara talk about herself.

Perhaps Piro could have been a bit more polite in his response. What’s wrong with inviting an acquaintance to sit together for lunch? A blunt No Thank You in real life would be insulting…

Tara and Bets are not shy about taking the wheel.

It’s just as well. Had Piro told his life story, it would’ve only lasted a few minutes. Thus, leaving the rest of the hour for Tara’s life story, part 1.

I, like a lot of the people here, are looking forward to a new story about two minor characters in the Luann universe

Taking his tray so that he either has to follow her to where she’s going to sit, or get in line again for another tray. Smooth, or annoying?

I like a good conversation when I’m eating out. I really don’t like eating alone…..

I wouldn’t try to handle two trays at once. I would use both hands for one tray. I guess Tara has a lot of wrist strength.

THIS came out of left field…

Piro is either going to be slightly amused or really annoyed by the way Tara just took his food tray. If some guy did that to a woman he didn’t know, it would be considered chauvanistic and out of line, but Piro’s going to have to like it so this story can continue. Waaaiit a minute…..Piro doesn’t have a scarf on! That’s why he looks like a dork.

Took me a moment to realize she had abducted Piro’s tray.

Now, if someone was to take off with my food tray, I’d prefer it was Steff. Same food but the dessert might be worth the pursuit.

I miss Crystal; she brought some pizazz and no BS to the gang.

Or just come and sit with me.

Anything to pry Piro to tell what’s going on.

Are we ever going to see Delta again?

Or is she working in the campaign to get Michelle Obama elected president?

Can’t imagine how freaked out Bernice would be if she saw Tara start being interested in Piro.

Bernice gets freaked out if she has a mateless sock.

Tara is an intrusive, pushy, self-centered, manipulative invader of others’ privacy, and certified (former) lawbreaker who regularly starts trouble for a more pliant character (Luann).

And everyone thinks she’s an adorable scamp.

Bets, on the other hand …

(But enough about Bets … new storyline.)

This could be a really fun week!!!!

Tara and Piro are both outsiders in need of stability. Just because they have that in common doesn’t mean they would be stable for each other.

Piro got two piercings in his ear since we last saw him. Or is that 2 dot tattoos?

Wasn’t Tara struck by moving vehicle? Got Luann work hours cut by 50% ? Hijacking a tray is a minor situation?

Tara is nothing if not a Take Charge girl! But will Piro capitulate to her aggression, or will he just reclaim his lunch and turn his back on her?

We shall see, I expect….

Is Tara stalking Piro? Seems awfully convenient that following the writers class, she just “happens” to run into him at the food line.
