Hmmm, seems one of the people running for President is reportedly worth hundreds of millions of his own money yet constantly asks his poorer minions for their money and the poor things being so duped and loyal send it in, kinda like Jimmy Baker who is still hocking worthless crapola for God in the hills of Misery, er, ah Missouri.
Remember when Donald Trumpās top argument was that he was above politics and would finance his own campaign without taking any money from anyone, ever? I think that lasted about three days..
It is a wise candidate who knows his key suckersā¦ I mean constituents. Apparently you can fool some of the people all the time, and there are far more of them than I ever feared.
I have always wondered why the favorite line from politicians is that the average joe voter is doing so poorly (financially and otherwise) under the āotherā candidates. Then they spend hundreds of millions on getting elected so they can say it all again to get more millions next election. Have they ever thought of feeding any children with any of that money?
Well we know they are not in tennessee, the outdoor dog laws preclude chaining dogs outside; they donāt care about kids being killed have to protect the dogs, of course dweeb lee signed a law where you canāt sue gun manufactures because their product killed your kids, would not want to impede donations toward reelections from corporations; God when are those fools with guns getting around to the state government?
To all conservatives who unfortunately live in poverty; You do know that if you vote Republican you are voting to have your benefits cut and to give yourself a tax increase? Is that really worth it just to āown the libsā?
I believe Mencken also said, No one ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public. Iām one of that group and I can speak from experience using Pogoās words:
We have met the enemy and he is us [Walt Kelly. Earth Day poster, 1970]
āTrailer trash,ā thatās what they call us. We only live on our Social Security, and thatās why we canāt move out of here. I donāt care what people think. I know what kind of people we are, to heck with anybody who looks down on us.ā
You have to understand ā Trump is the victim, always and people LOVE the underdog. So dig deep and bail out the man who has only YOUR best interests in his heart ā MAGA.
Version #1 was rejected by editors ā it showed, on the trailerās doorstep, the candidate wearing an orange jumpsuit, trailing a broken ball-and-chain length.
So much thisā¦ so many of these candidates have their hand out.. and so many people who canāt afford to end up giving because they stupidly believe it will help.
I mean.. sure everyone can see what Trump is doing. I donāt believe he was a billionaire before he became president but he sure is now. Every time a news story hits with his name.. they send another donation plea. I donāt think they are even pretending itās for elections anymore. They word it just vaguely enough that people think its for elections but that no one can press charges when it just disappears into his personal accounts.
But this is one area where we can confidently say āboth sidesāā¦ The day that Roe v Wade was cut downā¦ I got no less than 12 emails begging for money to save abortion rights on the national level.. and they havenāt even tried. They are enjoying using it as a wedge for the 2024 election. Which means they wonāt even try until AFTER Jan 2025.
How many women will die before then for lack of healthcare?
They literally donāt care. Itās more useful as a wedge.
I want to say something snarky about how stupid this couple isā¦ but that would be wrong. So many of these people actually believe they are trying to help. Itās the politicians that should be ashamed.
In the United States, any money donated to a candidateās campaign fund may not necessarily be used for that candidate nor even for campaign purposes.
Candidates are free to transfer their campaign money to a different candidateās campaign fund if they so desire. Also, and more importantly, they are allowed to use campaign money for personal use if they so desireā¦ as long as income tax is paid.
So if you ever wonder why a candidate runs even though they would never have a chance of making the final cut, they are doing it to line their personal pockets. These are the candidates who are constantly at fund raising events, but never spend it on office supplies let alone campaign materials and advertisements.
