Now we know how the mice get in and out of the Big Pink House. I tried to tell them a storm was brewing back on August 25! I’m glad to see the mice heeded the advice to never go anywhere without a towel because “it is about the most massively useful thing an interstellar hitchhiker can have.” Is Alice using an acorn cap as a rain hat?
Blatant Plug: I get treats for Foxy at the $ store near my place. The checkout guy asked me today, “Do you have a Garfield, or a Heathcliff?” I said “She’s a Sophie. From Breaking Cat News .” Told him he could find it online and that there was an amazing crazy adventure storyline going on currently.
Panel 3 gave me pareidolia. Behind Alice and Agnes to the right – I know it’s gray clouds and rain drops but I swear I can see a teapot that reminded me of Mrs Potts from the D* animated film Beauty and the Beast.
Georgia does some of the most beautiful artwork. Truly beautiful! I love thunder and lightning and last week, we had some storms that looked exactly like this. They were awesome to watch and this strip is exactly like those.
Watching the Robber Mice scurry down the drainpipe is a great thing! Now we know….
So much to love in this strip! The colors (esp the brick wall), the atmospheric feeling of being exposed outside … at night … in a storm, the leaves used as tarps to keep them dry, and then the suspense building… until the meet a friend, not foe!
Love love love the panel of 4 Robber Mice colorfully running in the rain. The whole strip is so beautifully colorful today. And the prize at the end of the rainbow is … Thimblefist!
I think, when this arc is complete, I will go back and re-read it right away so I can read it all without waiting until the next day for each installment. This arc is long enough, I bet it would make a great next book: The Mole Wars!
I call upon the North winds and the forces of Dunn to cry havoc! And unleash the Tiny Tornado of Tortie Terror upon these terrible subterranean foes!Update: Mercury is now “Puddin” and is thriving and happy, when she can be found, Luckily Amazon is sending a Kitten Corral to solve the issue. Meanwhile, Barb and I miss her terribly.
I get the feeling these places aren’t very far away from each other… big pink house, barn, tree ware Bea was stuck, wildlands, fields, moles, mice, opossum, raccoons… coud put em all on one smol usgs pocket map
I just noticed that in the rain Violet has pushed her mask up onto her forehead and Natasha stuffed hers into her pocket. The details are just amazing. And even more so when you recall that Georgia works actual comic strip size.

From Funny Girl: Don’t Rain on My Parade
Don’t make us stay behind
’Cause we can do it!
Whatever happens we’ll get right through it!
No mole or owl is gonna rain on our parade!
…….
Don’t tunnel through our field,
’Cause we all use it!
Whatever it takes to win, we’re gonna do it!
No mole or owl is gonna rain on our parade!
…….
With sword and thorns, now,
We are right here!
And we will show, now!
It’s very clear
We are all gonna fight on!
We are all gonna be right on!
…….
We must pick out our battles,
Well here we pick it!
We’re coming for you, Owl!
So look out, Wicket!
We’ll never let a cloud go and rain on our parade!

Meanwhile, Back on the Nile
King Cadbury of Away: Dr. Zeus, would you like to say a few words?
Dr. Zeus: I’d be glad to
Thank you for your gracious meal,
It really fills me with such zeal!
I hope we can all be friends!
And have a friendship without end!
In all seriousness, I believe kittens and kits, and all children should have the opportunity to read, and write and develop an interest in learning.
All: Hear! Hear!
Maat-Tilda: And I believe everyone, young and old, should have the opportunity to enjoy creativity, whether in art, music, writing, or anything!
Adobe Style: Your Majesty, King Cadbury, I understand your artisans would like to visit with us and possibly come up with an exchange program.
King Cadbury: That is correct, Ms Adobe Style. And our royal chefs would like to exchange ideas with your kitchen.
Queen Cat… The Golden: Let’s put it to a vote. All those in favour of working with the Royal Court of Away say Aye!
All Aye!
The Queen: And now, on to dessert!

They’ve got a surprise they’re gonna bravely pursue
Something that all of them have always wanted to do
They’ve waited so long, waited so long
They’ve waited so long, waited so long
They’re gonna take a trip so far from here
Old Wicket’s on their docket, oh baby, they wanna make him disappear
They’ve waited so long, waited so long
They’ve waited so long, waited so long
Nothing better than two pair of mice
They’ve packed their bags and they’ve left tonight
Watch out, Wicket, for two pair of mice
Natasha’s ready to slice and dice!
