This one has it all! Ora Zella at her finest Terrible Tortie self. Sunflower Elvis! HUZZAH!. And, Last but never least, Pucky and one of his magnificent charts! Isn’t that CRAZY?
Thank you for the reminder about cats and milk. I have the same problem with milk so gave it along with ice cream, anything obviously milk product up years ago. Not worth the result.
On today’s comic . . . (cheeky giggles) . . . :D Trouble has this problem! He absolutely luuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurves milk . . . especially cereal milk. SO we have to be vigilant and keep his little furry paws away from it! (yeah I’m looking at you, hubby) ;P
Fake Mews! That a lie. Cats is loves milk and they is been dreenking it for ages. Never seen no cat be sick from milk. Pet products makers making up nonsense so that you goes and buys their expensive overpriced pet foods stuffs.
My childhood cat Rags would drink out of unattended cups of milk. Eventually I learned not to leave them, LOL. Thankfully I don’t recall him ever getting sick from it.
OZ, you remind me of a certain void of my acquaintance. Only his problem is with his other end. (Dear sweet Logan has CH, and hasn’t learned what the litter box is for.)
Generally, but not all cats have a problem with it. When Jenny (RIP) had cancer, the vet told me to try and keep her weight up. So I used milk instead of water in a syringe to wash down her pill. She was fine with it, it stayed on her stomach, and when I told the vet, she was fine with it, too, as long as the cat was.
Our new cat is the most food-obsessed moggie we’ve ever had. He scarfed down wet canned food on his first night and it… didn’t come out well. I won’t go into details.
Now he only gets a teaspoon of that kind of food, twice a day, and we shut him up in the spare room when our other cat gets it so that he can’t push his way in and risk a face full of claws. For the time being it’s going to be mainly sensitive stomach kibble with a feline probiotic powder sprinkled over it.
We’re thinking of changing his name to Dyson or Hoover. The name he came with (Drac) doesn’t really roll off the tongue anyway.
My childhood cat would only drink milk. He was famous for tipping over any glasses on the kitchen table that had milk in them. He wouldn’t touch water. I was told that kittens are born with an enzyme that can digest milk, but once they are weaned and stop getting milk they lose that enzyme and therefore can no longer tolerate milk. However, if they are always given milk without any interruption, they retain that enzyme and are therefore capable of digesting milk…I don’t know if it’s true but that’s what I was told.
Roy bugs me for Milk twice a day, he only gets a spoonful, which he usually does not finish. I try to indulge him every other day. But he is a pest about it!
My cat begs for milk. I give her about a tablespoon a day, which is enough to satisfy her, but not upset her. She also likes tiny bits of cheese. These are very little pieces. And bread, little bits of bread.
Belle and Mittens both like to take sips from Marie’s milk glass, and we’ve never had a problem. Georgia’s advice is probably best because you can’t really tell if your cat is lactose intolerant.
Yup. The closest to dairy our clowder gets is beef based cat food. And the butter Odinsdottir steals from my fingertips when I’m having scones with my afternoon tea.
Sooooo, my friends, does any one have suggestions of how to clean soot off a white cat? Someone was exploring the fireplace today… (I suspect Bartholomew pulled back the fireplace screen for him.)
I already tried brushing and a warm, damp washcloth to no avail.
Most cats are simply lactose intolerant. If they get runny stool or vomit, do not give them milk. They may actually be OK with milk consumption otherwise. Heavy or whipping creams can be given as an occasional snack (and kitties will just love you for it) due to them having significantly less lactose (learned this from the vet).

Meanwhile, Back on the Nile
Thomios: Now that we have the tomato storm all sorted out, it’s time to plan new recipes.
Sue Chef: Does anyone have any special allergies or sensitivities to food?
Thomios: Not that I know of. And Trevor-Hotep makes sure anything he grows, like onions and garlic, is cat friendly.
Sue Chef: That’s why we can have a Chocolate Everything buffet.
Sometime Later
Sue Chef: We seem to have a large supply of apples from where we know not.
Thomios: Including pineapples. I always wondered how they got that name.
Alice-Ata: It got that name because of its resemblance to a pinecone.
Thomios: You actually told us?
Agnes-Ata: Yes. I found it in the Pretty Good Library, so it’s not a secret. Actually, Bea told me.
Sue Chef: I think these pineapples would make a good topping for a cake.
Thomios: Sounds good.
Sometime Even Later
Thomios: I don’t know how this cake got turned upside down. Still tasty, though.
Alice-Ata: I’ll never tell.
Violet-Ifa: But I’ll hint. Two clues: Pink and Zoomies.

In OZ’s defense, we’ve been presented with images of milk that has been thrown up BUT no images of OZ being the one doing this.
