Is this believable? She was BF/GF with Quill. She’s not that awkward around boys.

I think the twist may be that this guy is Tara’s older brother. Just look at his hair color.

We’re supposed to believe that Luann has never spoken to a boy before? This tongue-tied act is so much BS.

If Bernice was drawn solid color she would look like one of the spies in Spy vs Spy.

I think she is feasting her eyes on one.

Even as a total goof Lu’s very cute here.

What’s strange is her sudden shyness.

Oh well.

I would mention that Lu looks on the verge of “giggling” in the last panel, but I don’t wanna “poke the old bear.” ;-)

Actually, being caught being a dork can happen too frequently.

Throughout this arc, Luann looked so beautiful. Now, she looks just plain STUPID!!

Why is Luann being silly? Can’t she just stand in the line like a normal customer?

I had many dates and girlfriends before I was married. It was always like this, if I ever had to date again, it would still be like this.

When Luann wants to write a parody of a romance novel, these events will come in handy. The awkwardness in the last panel is great and hilarious. I can’t wait to see how this story continues and if they manage to meet someone, or if they just make fools of themselves over and over again. Maybe they’ll find someone who likes them because they are a very funny duo.

Even as an adult, Luann is still awkward around the opposite sex.

Ask about the chicken! “Hi there! Is this a good food truck? What did you order?” or just some friendly info-gathering chat to get things rolling. Lu would likely manage on her own, but being around Bernice stifles her sometimes

Luann could start telling him some funny jokes. That always works for her.

So we get to see Karen regress Luann back to 14. Awkward, tongue-tied, insecure, nervous and immature. What joy.

It’s impossible for a human being to get their pupils in the position Luann has hers in the first two panels.

This is the single worst, most unattractive presentation of Luann and Bernice that I can remember. Greg tried endlessly to tear down Tiffany, and now he’s doing the same thing to these tweety bird sisters.

Facial expressions occur for maybe 1 second, but when drawn in a strip we see it for much longer which impacts us in a way it may not in the actual situation.

Karen has Luann regressing to her Aaron Hill days. Why keep these characters in teen limbo? All Luann had to say to him was, “that chicken looks yummy.” Simple. Or throw a $5 bill on the ground and ask, “Did you drop something?”
