I can even see the old cartoon bit where the pie’s aroma stretches out. As it reaches the character in question it does this follow me finger bit. And follow they do. I think in some instances even leaving their feet and sort of floating towards the pie.
I never, ever have left a bowl of ice cream uneaten, let alone unattended. I firmly do not believe this could happen. It’s ice cream, for gosh sakes.
Never have I doubted anything in BCN. It’s all completely plausible, if not probable. But scooping out ice cream and not eating it, that’s beyond belief. No. Couldn’t happen.
I read that milk and milk products are not good for cats. But then I read of cats drinking it without harm. So is it on an individual basis like people who are lactose intolerant?
_*Beatrixia: Have you considered asking for (your jewels) back?*
Queen Catshepsut the Golden: Excellent idea. I would like to invite our elven guests to have lunch with us where His Highness Fe-Anaro can make his formal request.
Fe-Anaro: You are most kind, Your Majesty. I understand your royal jester’s troupe is most entertaining.
The Queen: Indeed they are. I have instructed Lupinium and Ora Z to demonstrate their latest Thwump routine.
Enter Thomios
Thomios: Your Majesty and Honored Guests, it is my pleasure to present our lunch of fresh-caught Perfect Perch, courtesy of Fresh and Salt Water Cat. And a course of salad and vegetables from the Cosmo Nursery.
Eldest Son Maed-Ros: Your offerings are most delicious.
Thomios: For dessert we have pastries made with Queen Bee Titania’s Xanadu Honey. And for the cheese course we have a selection of the finest cheeses whose source we know not.
Second Son Mag-Lor: Courtesy of those from the Ancient and Accepted Guild of Procurers, no doubt.
Sometime Later
Fe-Anaro: Your Majesty, Noble Cats, and Most Valiant Kittens, you have shown my sons and I kindness beyond measure. Now I would request one more courtesy: The return of the jewels we have long sought after.
All: Hear! Hear!
Mag-Lor: I must write this in our chronicles.
Elvis-Anum: You are the family scribe?
Mag-Lor: Yes. I have scrolls from the time my family began this quest.
No more ice cream for me. Now it’s frozen pretend ice cream via oatmilk. And how one gets milk from oats, I don’t know. But some of them are pretty good. Silk and Oatly are good. Or I do gelato. I miss real ice cream though.
My cat Biggs has a brain he likes play with. Its a stress ball i got at a seminar. He carries it around and bats it. last night he lost him brain under the sofa,it was tragic.
Not sure which is the craziest here, the woman for dishing up a bowl of ice cream and then falling asleep, or Ora Zella for being such a lousy stalker. Cats are known for their stealth, a trait obviously Ora Zella does not possess. Ora Zella is about as subtle as tuba player in a piccolo quartet.
A couple of weeks after we adopted four tiny kittens, my then four year old brother was eating homemade ice cream on the back porch. He set his cup down on the porch and went inside the house for chocolate. When he got back, all four kittens were spaced out around the cup shivering as they lapped up melting ice cream as fast as they could. Even their pointy tails were shivering. Their eyes had only been open for a few days.
Something similar happened to me a couple of weeks ago. Dark bedroom, middle of the night and I hear the dreaded “RRRRRRRRR”. As usual our older cat, Kung Pao was stalking her little brother, Shadow. I waved my arm ineffectually, hoping to break the tension. No good. Even at 10 years old, shadow still maintained the feral survival instincts he had when we rescued him off the streets as a kitten. In other words, he freaked right the Eff out. A scramble ensued, RIGHT ACROSS MY FACE! Someones paw, scimitars out, nailed me right next to my eye. Very bloody. Lesson learned. Next time I hear the dreaded “RRRRRRRR” in the middle of the night it’s “duck and cover” under the blanket.
She chose the wrong path. Not in the sense of righteousness vs. sin, but in the sense of location. The back of the couch would have worked. She’s a kitten and has a few things to learn about stealth.
Let’s see: fangs!, little tongue!, inch, inch, inch…! tail wagging!!!!!! “toss me into the bowl before it melts!!!!!” Just too much! :-D Not to mention the “stomp” on the face….
Depends on my mood. If I’m feeling particularly festive, I like English walnut or black walnut (or both!) with chocolate fudge sauce, marshmallow fluff, and a ton of whipped cream. If I need cheering up, chocolate with chocolate whipped cream, fudge sauce, and chocolate sprinkles (Hagel, a Dutch brand that translates to “hail”.)

When trying to be stealthy, pouncing from the face . . . is, shall we say, counterproductive.
Now, if the goal is to pounce onto the face, that’s a completely different matter.

I think this is the only time the words “Ora Zella” and “sneaky” have ever been used together…at least, without a “not” in the mix.

First off, how on Earth could someone fail to eat a bowl of ice cream before falling asleep. I mean… priorities!
And second, I’m confused about the reference to cartoon ducks. Best guess is it’s a reference to Huey, Dewey and Louie?

So close, yet so mercifully, close. But I do love her inch, inch, inch, army crawl.

OZ did the woman a favor. You wouldn’t want to fall asleep and wake to a bowl of ice cream soup.

It has dairy, so of course she’s going after it.
Our Black Lab loved frozen custard (yum!), and vanilla was her favorite. She licked other flavors, but bit into vanilla.

Lupin has a great expression in panel four. His headline is pretty accurate too, as Ora Zella is not exactly synonymous with any sort of sneaking.
