The woman is a sucker for a single displayed tooth and purring.

I did NOT think of that method. Seven has me trained to give her treats when she comes back in the house.

Nothing like a well trained human!

I read about a study once comparing the behavior of dogs and wolves. When presented with a clear box with food inside, the wolves would try brute force and persist for a long time. The dogs would try a time or two, and then look for the nearest human and approach them to open the box.

Good Goldie. And I love their shared faces of excitement.

Achilles has been prairie-dogging to get cat snacks. It works on me every time.

I can vouch for the inability of the typical cat person to resist cute. We are putty in their paws.

Of course snack for one cat means snacks for all cats. All purr one and one purr all. The six mewscateers.

I thought she was going to knock it off the counter. My cat did that and fed himself.

With Goldie’s expertise in opening windows (or, finding openings near windows) I was expecting a different outcome. But of course, Goldie knows how to work the system!

We have a rescue cub, about 8mo old, in our house now. We’ve had him since he was 3 or 4 weeks old. He is an excellent mimic and is learning everything he can from our older cats, especially about manipulating us people.

I almost forgot it’s Friday. Buddha’s mouse is defrosting, and I must dispense catnip so the clowder can get stoned.

Smiley: I always like a good cheese dish. Although meat is my favorite.

Floof: Not a problem! Just leave it to my apprentices. Where are our Procurer Friends?

Don: They said they were going to stop at Amon and Azibo’s Spice Plural shop and proceed on to Afar.

Smiley: I’m sure they won’t get into any mischief.

Floof: More likely they’ll be the mischief.

Somehow this was not the solution I expected. For once The Woman does notice she has cats. :)

The levers of power operate the humans. You don’t need opposable thumbs when you have compliant well trained humans.

It’s snowing…again…

The way the kittens are on the kibble container reminds me of a cat my local comic store had. Mojo would do that to a popcorn tin, using the law of the lever totally to his own disadvantage. Then again, Mojo would eat any food left unattended.

Best way to learn to open it, ask.

Gracie got to play the cat of opportunity tonight. I spilled what was left of a bowl of beef stew on the floor tonight and she was Johnny on the spot to help clean it up. As I was thinking, this would be a great time to have a dog…..Gracie stepped up and said “hold my catnip, I got this!” She is puppy like at times though with her being constantly underfoot. I still had to scrub the floor, but her efforts were greatly appreciated. Who knew House Panthers like beef stew? She’d never acted the least bit interested in it before. But it’s not something I’d normally offer her.
