Yikes! No new arc?? Well, it now makes sense why they dressed Bernice like Gunther.

I wonder what a Muse Makeover looks like… contacts? new sexy dress and The Rachel hairstyle??

A Muse Makeover? Doesw this involved a burka like robe with strategic cut-outs? Like exposing part of an ear, half of an elbow, a bit of chin…. just like Nil’s “art.”

Luann is talking like she herself has undergone big change, while Bernice has stayed the same. The only physical change Luann has gone through is her hair, but Bernice’s hair has changed too, so Luann can’t really talk tbh.

A “make-over” is actually not a bad idea!

Start with divesting Bernice of that awful “hairdo” she’s been inflected with since high school graduation, Luann.

She hasn’t been right since she got it.

And BURN Gunther’s shirt before Bets sees it and wonders what Bernice is doing in it.

Well, they killed off two of them for Disney’s Hercules just because they didn’t fit on screen. In comparison, a Bernice makeover is no big deal.

Bernice, Luann has a valid point. It’s kinda hard to be a creative muse when you yourself have lil to no creativity. But to defend bernice, she doesn’t dress for style but for comfort and neither does luann. Luann, how are YOU going to perform a makeover when you need one just as bad? lol

Kinda seems like the blind leading the blind.

I’m pretty sure Nil wants the “Same old Bernice” as his muse. But Luann has a point, Bernice needs a makeover! Seeing someone, especially someone young, going for a walk in long black pants, closed shoes and striped T-shirts during the summer is really weird! Isn’t she suffocating from the heat? The way Luann is dressed makes a lot more sense with the season. It makes me happy to see that Luann is the one suggesting it.

This story line is so incredibly STUPD! In what world does Bernice think that being a third rate artists’ so-called “muse” gives her new social standing, and that other people are supposed to recognize and respect that she is one person’s muse? SO WHAT if someone told her she is their muse – why would anyone care? That would be a private, fictional relationship between two people and it wouldn’t include anyone else she knows. The more she talks about it the less special she makes it. If it’s true, she shouldn’t be discussing it with other people at all. Maybe she thinks she is now “muse” to the world – so BY ALL MEANS – get her nails done! That will fix everything. Oh, and maybe a Grecian goddess costume to wear when she’s “musing”. Can this generation be portrayed as any more vapid and stupid? Someone needs to give Karen Evans an (obviously) much-needed vacation!

Some people think the romance is over, but it should be obvious it is nowhere near over, this is just a step. Now this arc will hilariously (means to be funny, mildly or uproarious, what difference does it make?) explore trying to make Bern more attractive a muse, which leads to Nil reevaluating his muse definition. Boy has gonads even in carrtoon, and as I noted last week Lu is being portrayed more curvy and cute, whither Bern?

Good lord. This muse crap is continuing? As if she wasn’t enough of a smug, insufferable, piece of work as is, now she’s feeling “special” and “unique” and no one is going to tell her to get over herself. Instead, Our Hero wants to give her a makeover, which may go on all week. The strip can be so insipid sometimes. I know, many of you are probably thinking “then why continue to read it?” and you are quite correct. If there are no redeeming qualities to it at all this week, I’m done.

Sadly today the Luann strip was discontinued in the Los Angeles Times comic section. Luann only recently came on board at the Times, when it replaced 9 Chickweed Lane. “Luann” requires its readers to know the characters to follow the theater in each episode. This takes time, which unfortunately “Luann” didn’t get. Also unfortunately the current arc with Bernice as Muse is not one of the better stories. Too bad – I was hoping “Luann” would catch on.
