I love Elvis’ purple Easter suit. Would not have called purple as Elvis’ color, but hecc yeah, it sure works for him! Purple and gold, like royalty (well, he is a Siamese).

I love the kids’ bunny ears. Ora Z with the OH NO! of concern for Humpty Lupin is another bit of adorable from her.

How appropriate that Humpty Dumpty and Lupin have identical ties and suits (not he ame suit patternm but color) as Lupin seems to pretending to be Humpty Dumpty.

And the Egg is, of course, doomed.

And Pucky in camel’s hair. But black and Camel’s hair go together fabulously!

That is because Humpty Dumpty was not an egg, cats. Humpty Dumpty was a cannon.

Either that or Humpty Dumpty was name of some UFO that was parked on a wall and it fells down. Me means who on earth would names anything something weird name as Humpty Dumpty?

I like that the other cats picture Lupin as Humpty Dumpty on the wall that runs from the Big Pink House to the Quinn Farm where Burt and Baba live. Meanwhile, Lupin decides to act it out on top of the old bookcase.

Like scaeva, I’m not a squee-er, but we have three panels of beans today, including Lupin the Egg’s teeny-tiny ones.

Seems kittens are included in the phrase “the children” are in the nursery. So sweet.

Ah yes, one of the nursery rhymes with so many interpretations I don’t know which is correct. At least Humpty Lupin is adorable!

There’s no mention of girls so I bet Goldie and Ora Zella could repair a cracked Lupin… uh, egg!

And I truly love Puck’s straight-faced logic of “can’t hammer an egg.”

Given one shelf is completely clear, I think Ora Zella is responsible for a lot of books on the floor. Forget hammers, the only tools for repairing eggs are tape and glue, or maybe hopes and prayers.

Helpful Household Hint No. 473:

Do NOT give Ora Zella a hammer.

Oh my! So much to see: Elvis panel 1 in his Easter finery purple suit and the fuzzy chick with bunny ears. OZ’s gasp of “no” in panel 2. Goldie’s eyes in the center panel, shooting arrows at Lupin, and of course, the boys wearing cards and Lupin’s suit with pocket square. The literary discussion in panel 4 (they do have valid points), Puck’s bowtie and Goldie’s dress, and finally, OZ in a Jackie O pink Chanel-like suit as her partner in destruction tries to enact falling off the wall!!

Ora saying, “I can hammer an egg” Hmmm. Sounds like a plot.

An egg’s tail? Eggs have tails? And what kind of sound does one make? Oh, sorry….‘tale’. The autocorrupt in my brain is acting up again.

It’s seemed to me that most childrens’ stories are meant to convey some life-lesson to help children be safe as they grow- but if that’s the case for Humpty Dumpty, the lesson escapes me. Maybe “don’t sit on walls, because horses make terrible doctors”?

Gorgeous strip, as usual! Still, I wish we could have seen Ora Zella’s Easter outfit; I bet it was adorable. She’s probably already destroyed it.

Did anyone get a new Easter outfit? I used to get one every year as a kid, and my Mom, an expert seamstress and tailor, continued the tradition well into my 30’s, often adding matching shoes and purse. I haven’t thought about getting a new Easter outfit in years.
