They are EVIL lawn potatoes. I’m torn between Bea’s idea, pave the lawn, and what would surely be Ora Z’s Better idea, IMO……. FIRE! BURN THE LAWN! BURN THE LAWN! BURN THE LAWN!

First time I can remember Tommy with a frown.

Even Sophie never hurt his feelings.

Cats are moles worst enemy. Outdoor cats, gang up on them. My 7 pound female Siamese walked two foxes off of the yard, cornered a woodchuck(groundhog) and moles runs diasppeared all in a year after moving in. She never fought the above, simply stood her ground.

Awwwwwww…Tommy… It’s gonna be OK! We all love you and want to hug you. There, there.

The wrath of Tommy outdoes Achilles!

I guess we all learn sooner or later that not everybody loves us. But how can any creature NOT love Tommy or Beatrix?

Not cool, moles, not cool.

Poor Tommy!! You are good enough, you are smart enough, and goshdarnit people (and creatures) like you!

The moles are, as you might have expected, doomed.

I wonder what’s made Mopoleon so angry?

Pave the yard? That’s concrete evidence he’s not trying to cement relationships with the moles. But it’s not Tommy’s doing asphalt lays with the moles…

Bea didn’t say what she was going to pave the yard with….perhaps (trumpets blaring to the south) with the blood of Pirate Moles. Bea is a beautiful young emissary who came in peace. She is really too young to join this fight, but join she has; with the shocking attack that the Moles had joined. The Force is strong with her.

Goldie would certainly join this elite muster of Republic Rebel soldiers to combat the forces of dirt. If they get Tabitha to join the fray, the shock troops would be ready, with a lightning strike from Tabitha into the center of the Mole Phalanx. This would collapse the center of the mass, and the calvary can move in a pinscer maneuver from both sides – to wittle the enemy down to their eventual surrender. Ora Z is too young to remember the clone wars…she was born in the New Republic…so should be held back from the fray, although she is anxious to wield her own Light Saber. This padwan is too anxious to fight, and this sometimes leads to the dark side. (Mole Side)

I see Tommy as a concientious objector to the violence that the moles may have unwittingly foisted on themselves. We need the wisdom of Master Jedi Baba mouse, perhaps she can defuse the situation, and restore calm to the galaxy.

Baba Mouse and the Robber Mice need to intervene, lest Bea and OZ wreak their revenge for hurting sweet Tommy’s feelings.

It’s time to EXFOLIATE, those moles!

I’m holding out for Natasha and Violet, and perhaps the descendants of the Golden Mouse. But seriously, as much as Natasha seems born for this, Violet needs a chance to shine. We know she’s a demolition expert and she was a lab mouse; what could she bring to this?

How dare they hurt Tommy’s feelings?! Gather the troops, Beatrix! We’re heading into battle!

If even Tommy cannot make friends with the moles, then there’s no hope. Perhaps they need to fight pirates with pirates. I don’t know exactly what that means, I just want Tommy in a pirate costume.

I think they need reinforcements. What is the strategy? We’ll never tell!

How dare the moles make Tommy sad! This definitely means war. Someone get the Man to turn the garden hose on their tunnels and set the moles a-fleeing!

OT, Wiley Miller’s Non Sequitur today has a household very similar to the Dunn’s.

I haven’t had time to read all the comments, but Bea’s comment in the last panel made me think of Joni Mitchell’s song, Big Yellow Taxi.

Those moles got a lot of nerve hurting his feelings. Shame on them.

No one, NO ONE, hurts Tommy’s feelings and gets away with it.

I’m sure all will be friends or at least call a truce. It just may take a while.

I’d wonder why it’s taking Baba so long to get there to deal with this, but she IS old. Spry, but still an elderly kitty and it’s summer. It’s easier to sneak around to the big pink house when it’s autumn.

What different reactions. Sad, crushed Tommy (my heart breaks for him) and incensed, revengeful Beatrix.

Definitely time for Baba and Tabitha. Diplomacy has failed.

Oh dear, hurt Tommy’s feelings and pave the yard? I rather quess detente is in order. Who should be the mediator/mediators?

You said it, Robin! Those moles are DOOMED! We’ve got the Robber Mice planting explosives all through the tunnels, protected by Natasha, The Mightiest Prey. Ora Zella will be happy to light them off and watch the fireworks. Fluffapurrus Rex will gladly pounce on any who flee. And Trevor will dig like only a big dog can dig! The remainder . . . will have Elvis to deal with.
