Another kibble spill? If you guys arenât careful, somebodyâs gonna call OSHA or whatever the feline equivalent is (although Iâm not sure the feline bureau would consider this a problem)!
I didnât even need to look at the 2nd panel to know who. LOL Watching Ora Z ride the kibble container down to the floor is the amusement park ride we all needed! And itâs the ride that feeds the whole family! I love her paws in the air celebration! HUZZAH!
Yep, this looks like our household. The dry cat food was kept in a bag on a shelf under the counter. That ended when we got a new brand of dry cat-food. They really like it. Now we have to keep it on top of the fridgeâŠ
After a rough few hours trying (and failing) to repair a ps3 I just got as a gift, I needed panel 3. Just a tiny energetic kitty making her way down in a kibble bin while her dad looks on mildly suprised.
O.Z just keeps that big bin going! Surprised she didnât start it burninâ! Rolling! Rolling! Rolling on a kibble bin! Mew Mew Mew Mewp! Mew Mew Mew Mewp!
Iggy: Where did you go? You were here then you disappeared.
Ora Z: You were right. That flower was a space time anemone. The Royal Procurers came and got me.
Iggy: Youâre just in time for the judging of the Veggie Transport Competition. Bill Platypus is going to make the announcement.
Serfig-Aro: Sentient friends! It gives me great pleasure to introduce Bill Platypus, who will announce the winner of the Veggie Transport Competition. Bill?
Bill: It was a close one, alright. But by a margin of a half kilo, the Beaver Guild is the winner. They win the bragging rights and the gold cup courtesy of the Artisans Guild. Great job, mates.
Phil-Adelph Groundhog: Congratulations, Beavers!
Theodore Beaver: Thank you, Groundhogs. Great job.
Phil: Itâs kinda strange, though. I was sure we packed more veggies than this.
Steve Groundhog: Thereâs a pile of tomatoes with one bite taken out of each one.
Phil: I think I know who. Groundslow!
Groundslow: Sorry. I couldnât resist these luscious tomatoes.
Theodore: It doesnât seem fair us winning because one of your team ate the veggies.
Phil: You won fair and square.
Trevor-Hotep: The midsummer fruit will be coming in in a few weeks, then the end of summer produce.
Phil: Thatâs it! Best two out of three!
Theodore: Youâre on!
Puckmosis: Is there anything you can do with these tomatoes?
Ora Zella looks like sheâs having so much fun! Then again, so do all the cats in panel 4. The Woman will probably need both a broom and the Man to contain this spill.
Cat Food Storage 101: the container must have a lid that seals completely. The canister should be unbreakable. It should be kept in an area that is not easily accessible by felines. Extra supply must be stored behind a closed door or in a giant bin with a locking lid.
I love this strip, Georgia. Now picture this scene, not with kibble, but with a half-full tin of coffee (dark roast for those keeping scores). Holmes was on the counter, Hamilton was on the floor directing the chaos, and I was at the sink filling the carafe with water for the coffee maker.
Holmes stuck his head in the tin and sniffed. My oblivious comment at the time was, âHolmes. Thatâs not kibble.â
The carafe was almost full when Holmes decided since the tin didnât have kibble, it didnât need to be on the counter. The words âNO,â and âSTOP!â still echoed in the kitchen when an orange paw pushed the container off the edge.
The open tin seemed to fall in slow motion to the floor, straight at Hamilton. For his part, the family Sous Chef watched as the hoped-for kibble container descended. However, hope turned to bewilderment when the tin hit the floor, and the contents exploded, dousing the black cat not with the hoped-for kibble but with rich aromatic ground coffee.
Seeing the look on my face, Holmes remembered the old cat saying, âThose who misbehave and run away can live to misbehave another day.â The last I saw of the family consulting detective for a few hours was an orange rear-end and tail disappearing around the corner into the dining room. Eventually, I heard those same paws running down the upstairs hallway for the sanctuary of our bedroom. Hamilton, however, wasnât so lucky. I followed the coffee groundsâ paw prints to his favorite hidey-hole, where I had to pick him up and carry him back to the sink. I didnât want him cleaning himself and ingesting the grounds. While in the sink, Hamilton gave me a look that said, âI was just an innocent bystanderâŠCan I have some kibble now?â
And people wonder where I get my ideas for my writing.
On occasion, if the kibble runs low enough in the communal bowl, Roy has a habit of pulling out the kibble bag from the laundry room. He then lies on his stomach in sploot mode and reaching his paw into the bag will pull out a few pieces at a time, like he is snacking until he is satisfied or when I get up in the morning to feed them. Poodle ate a hole in the bag once, no subtlety there as to who did it. So now I hide it better.
Some one really needs to get these cats some responsible, thinking humans to watch out and take care of them. Kibble on the counter in a container that opens that easily, letâs get serious here.
Well, thatâs quite a mess for the Woman to clean up! I keep the kibble under the sink.
The kittens are eating kibble now, so I got kitten kibble for them. In a law of illogic, Mouse and Smudge are eating the kitten food, while the kittens are eating the adult food. Humph. Go figure.
Similar situation at my house last night. The cassette walked in to find the cat food cabinet door (over the counter) pried open and food containers, and most significantly a bag of catnip, down on the floor. Apparently I failed to close the door tightly enough last time I got food out. The culprit, probably Inky, was after the nip. The boys are most definitely not starving, they have kibble available at all times. So the nip was the break-in target. I might need a child-proof fastener for that cabinetâŠ
In p4 it looks like a cat whisker was on the glass when Georgia scanned this strip. Iâm sure it is an âaction streak" but Iâm going to stay with the cat whisker theory; it just fits so well!

OT: Thank you! Thank you to my Orb friends for your purrayers and good wishes for my recovery which I mentioned on Monday. Iâm getting better slowly. Your comments were so appreciated by me and my husband. â„â„â„
When I first saw this last night, I felt like I had seen something like it before. This morning it âdawnedâ on me. This is like the scene in the Dr. Strangelove movie where Slim Pickens as Major King Kong rides the H-Bomb to his (and the earthâs) doom. Only in BCN there is a much happier ending. For the cats at least.
Our tortie growing up once got into the closet where her kibble was kept (the latch didnât latch). We found her lying on the floor, her stomach extremely bloated. Whoever said cats will stop eating when theyâre full, was full (of it) themselves! Though, to be fair, she had finally stopped â after sheâd eaten half the bag, and her stomach had expanded to multiple times its normal size. We could actually see lumps, like sheâd barely chewed in her attempt to eat as much as possible before we found out.
She also later became obese, until eventually kidney problems led to a change in diet. For years, everyone asked if she was pregnant. Mom tried to claim she was âjust big bonedâ â but she definitely wasnât.

Running along the counter top to the orange bin
We know itâs full of lots of kibble food
Right away Ora Zella pulls open the bin
And delicious kibble falls all over the floor!
As five kitties all stand and wait!

Ooh! I laugh as kibble rains
Cleaning up the mess with the taste we love
Ooh! How I love the kibble rain
And the happy way. I feel inside!
âŠâŠ.
After a while our Woman comes in
Sooner or later sheâll sweep up the mess
But at the moment she is forced to concede
The cats have their way and we must confess,
There is less to clean that way!

Ooh! I laugh as kibble rains
Cleaning up the mess with the taste we love
Ooh! How I love the kibble rain
