Coming Soon đ At the beginning of April, youâll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
Reminds me of a TV commercial where a banker asks an Inuit if he has any âliquid assets.â The man replies, âYes, but theyâre all frozen!â Canât remember what that commercial was for.
Of course, Calvin could have replied that the snowman getting into the car means that the snow car would go just as the snowman got into it. As Hobbes says though, the engine WOULD have to be frozen in a snow car.

Remember the time Calvin told this joke?
Master: Heel!
Dog: It takes one to know one!
(Hobbes asked âHow did the dog learn to talk?â)

Literalists spoil a lot of jokes. :D

Futility is trying to explain a joke to a realist!
Hello Everyone 6 days ago
Of course, Stuffed Tigers donât walk around and talk either. But it can be really Funny/Cute/Heart Warming.

Well I thought it was a good joke.

I get the feeling Bill Watterson was throwing subtle shade at his fellow cartoonists for their extremely lame jokes and visual puns.

Bwahaha, that kid is so funny, it curls my tootsies.

My brother-in-law is like this. He yells at science fiction movies for not being âreal.â Duh, thatâs why itâs science FICTION.

Logic in cartoons? This is why I read âCathy!â
win.45mag 5 days ago
But how would the engine STAY frozen with thousands of controlled explosions going off in it per minute ??
JonladY2K 5 days ago
This is the level of inane detail a lot of commentators put into this very website, completely forgoing the concept of comedy. How ironic.
ekw555 5 days ago
pesky science!
einarbt 5 days ago
Oh, Hobbes. Calvin will have to explain cartoon physics to him.
mickjam 5 days ago
If Iâm being honest, Iâve seen many less funny comics done by professionals over the years.
MRBLUESKY529 5 days ago
There are a few âHobbesâ in this and other comment sections.

Hobbes sounds like many GoComic commentators on other days pointing out the logic inaccuracies or other goofs which are not real.

Logic!
sandpiper 5 days ago
Hobbes applies logic in the same way some readers to. Itâs just a comic. It can go anywhere the author wants it to.
guenette.charlie(BozoKnows) 5 days ago
Calvin mustâve been trying to fill the void from The Far Side ending earlier that year (January 1, 1995).

Hobbes should analyse âAndy Cappâ since the ânew guysâ took over and explain where the gags are.
mindjob 5 days ago
The engine wouldnât have frozen if he used antifreeze, like the ownerâs manual says
Angry Indeed Premium Member 5 days ago
Hobbes poked a hole in Calvinâs whoopee cushion.
Will_Scarlet 5 days ago
Logic is supposed to ENHANCE your joke, not kill it.
pripley 5 days ago
Iâm with Calvin on this one. Itâs a good, silly cartoon. I donât think anyone is a fan of Tex Avery for his realism.

sperry532 5 days ago
Hobbs sounds a bit like the commenters without a sense of humor that show up in these comments. Itâs a comic.

Shows what happens when you apply logic to a work of creative fiction.
JoeMartinFan Premium Member 5 days ago
Hobbes, like many people, doesnât appreciate absurd humor. Itâs not supposed to make logical sense!
StevePappas 5 days ago
Itâs a mildly amusing joke, and then comic book guy has to go and ruin it.
CharlesBrickner1 5 days ago
Hobbesâ comment reminds me of so many that I read in the GoComics comments.
yangeldf 5 days ago
a slight change to the punchline is all he needs, âDarn it, the engine warmed up!â then itâs funny because of reversal of common sense.
Laurie Stoker Premium Member 5 days ago
I love Calvinâs expression in that last pane!
elvira.alejandro 4 days ago
Readers Digest would appreciate that joke.
Drakonus 4 days ago
Hobbes and I would get along very, very well.
