Is Georgia using her special font in order to take the pressure off of her wrist? Smart thinking! The whole Lupin/Goldie interaction is definitely SUS!

Not sure which is better, Puck’s curtains, Elvis’ trash conspiracy, or the ongoing Goldie v Lupin spat. It’s Elvis’ trash conspiracy am I right? Side chuckle for the comments on Beatrix’s notes.

Georgia, oh, so sorry about your wrist, of course it would be your artistic hand/wrist. The good news is that the problem will be resolved and would love to see some of your and our favorite strips while you recover.Love the secretary’s minutes, though it hits a bit too close to home. Oh, yes. And it is so BCN boys and girls.

It’s good to see Elvis is upholding the tradition of hard-hitting, in depth, investigative reporting about the burning issues of our times. I thought that real journalism was doomed.

Two shocking facts: that they discuss the stories prior to broadcast, and that anyone trusted lupin with assignments. I expect it from puck and Iggy and literally no other charcter .

“Squabble” ensued? Breaking Cat News: These are cats! I’m thinking the “squabble” started with hissing, then batting, next chasing, until it became a full-on Tusslemania!

Love the minutes and the behind the scenes view of BCN. Of course, on second thought, after 2 days I’m not sure any actual reporting has happened … maybe that’s the story.

    Meanwhile, Back on the Nile

Queen Catshepsut the Golden: Once again, thank you all for attending the monthly report meeting. So much has happened. Let’s start with Puckmosis.

Puckmosis: Thank you, Your Majesty. I am pleased to report that we have been able to locate a trove of scrolls believed to have been part of the Library at Meowlexandria, as well as determining the likely cause of the library’s destruction. I’ll let Elvis-Anum elaborate.

The Queen: Thank you, Puck. Elvis, go ahead.

Elvis-Anum: For decades it was believed there was some type of accident with the library staff making s’mores after hours. But now we believe it was a natural accident. Apparently there was a freak storm.

The Queen: And I am pleased to welcome our honored guest, Ms Beaver Lee Cleary, who was instrumental in finding the scroll room.

Beaver Lee: That is so, Your Majesty. Elvis and I propose to translate the scrolls along with scholars from Punn State University.

The Queen: Excellent. And you found treasure as well?

Puckmosis: Yes, Your Majesty. The Artisans are most appreciative. I anticipate many new projects of great beauty.

Lupinium: And I found my brooch!

The Queen: I am most happy for that. Now let’s take an important break of light refreshments provided by Thomios and his staff. And the Royal Procurers.

For those complaining about no pictures….quote from Georgia’s FB page…

“In that space of time between “my hand being somewhat out of commission” and “hand surgery”, I took a peek into Beatrix’s station meeting notes…”

She was apparently giving her wrist relief by using a font and skipping drawing, so let us all give her relief from carping about the lack of pictures. Using one’s imagination is a good exercise…see Katzen1415’s note above.

The Lupin/Goldie ongoing spat is an example of Georgia’s genius. For newbies, a few years ago when they “only” had the three cats, Georgia mentioned a stray named Goldie. When they took her in, Elvis & Puck accepted her and Lupin went full on WWIII for no reason. Finally, he settled down to a grumbling frenemy attitude and they adopted Goldie. What is genius, to me, is that in order to introduce Goldie to the comics, she made that part of the story, giving a reason for Lupin to not like Goldie and meantime using the bits they knew about her. For example, that in real life she did not know what cat treats were – so that became a plot point. It was obvious she had once been a house cat, so her searching for her family became a huge plot (and a chance to introduce the raccoons). Plus this ongoing frenemy hostility by Lupin as in today’s comics. I am just so impressed with how Georgia uses these daily events and then creates funny stories around them.

This story arc reminds me of a Calvin and Hobbes Sunday strip in which Hobbes was reading minutes from the previous meeting of the Get Rid Of Slimy girlS club. He read aloud, “Discussed so-called editorial bias of minutes from previous meeting. Much nonsense from Dictator For Life.” Dictator For Life Calvin exclaimed “Nonsense!?” Hobbes reading of the minutes led to further accusations of editorial bias on his part and the inevitable fight between Calvin and Hobbes.

The trash must be examined for any tasty morsels, and the only proper way to do so is to scatter it across the kitchen floor at 4:30 in the morning.

I wonder, is dictation still taught? My mom had to take minutes of meetings back in the day, and she was taught dictation in school in the 40s. Years ago, I found one of her old steno-books and it looked like it could have been written in Elvish.
