I have to admit that this whole story line is lost on me.

Why do I hear superhero music?

It took a moment to spot Jules, but is that him under the question mark in the second panel? And then perched on top of I-don’t-know whisper bubble in the third panel?

Yes gradually making his appearance panel by panel.

“Well”, he said doing his bit, “I’ll be switched.”

It’s one way to get flipped off.

Today’s strip is a gut punch.

Did anyone else see Jules in all four panels? He overheard them and was curious. I like his moment of realization before flying off. He’s not slow on the uptake.

Did Jules surprise Mags so that her paw slipped, or was the slip a coincidence?

Since that is one of the old time vacuums that blows both in and out, is Mags planning to use it to blow the moles out of their holes?

Poor Mags, with the weight of the raccoon realm upon her shoulders.

Is Jules off to rally reinforcements???

I KNEW IT! Right when the moles were getting mean I thought July Bug (Jules) would be perfect. Moles don’t know what’s about to hit them. Squeee, this is my favorite month and I make sure to remind Georgia every year.

Yay, it’s Jules! Did he just help her find the solution ? Will those lawn potatoes, get hoovered and become, Lawn Mashed Potatoes? Jules! Heck yes!!!!! This is going to be an interesting week and a half to wind down July. Perhaps the vacuum will now be the key to the moles downfall and the return to order out of chaos in the realm of BCN! How? Good question, I guess we shall see very soon! I wonder if Mags remembers Jules from the trial of ’91, perhaps their paths have crossed since then as well. Great arc Georgia!

I too celebrate the return of Jules!! Although Great Boot may not be around anymore, I am sure Mag knows him well enough to imagine what he might say.

Hurrah for Jules! I am sure he will help the raccoons and the cats get rid of the moles.

No wonder Georgia said she had plotted a story arc that would last all summer! It will take that long to untangle this. I am eager to find out the motivation of the moles because once that’s revealed, there will be a solution like with the Mama vacuum cleaner.

Parrie Dog colonies are vacuumed up(or at least that was what they were doing 10-15 years ago according to the San Antonio Express-News) without harm. So blowing them out of the ground could accomplish the same thing. Have to be a really powerful vacuum though

I love her “thank garbage”. I’m guessing from the lower case g, that it’s more of “thank goodness” than the raccoon equivalent of “thank Cat”.

Hi guys! Sorry I’ve been gone, my life has been difficult lately. but I try to be here best I can.

Is this some movie plot?

(One time my family visited DC and we saw our vacuum cleaner in the Museum of American History. Realized it was time for an upgrade.)

So I haven’t had time to read all the comments yet, so someone may have answered this already. So, any guesses how the vacuum cleaner is going to be used in this scenario? And how does switching it from sucking in to pushing out going to help? Just not seeing this, but you guys are great at guessing at the possibilities.

June (July) bugs would definitely see moles as enemies. Does Jules have a legion of his kin standing by?

Jules has returned! I can hardly contain my excitement.

A long ago friend used high pressure wash unit. He hooked up the hose and threaded it down into one of the tunnels. He must have run a couple hundred gallons through those tunnels over four hours. Never saw a mole after that, at least for the couple of years I was still in the area.
