Oh boy. Tiff, Kip has been looking at your face for the past hour and you think you need to re-powder your nose? Girl, you’ve got a problem with self esteem. Once you go to re-powder, he might have second thoughts and just leave. Your loss and consider yourself lucky because you shouldn’t go until you finish your work rather than passing it to Ox.

Tiff’s going in to stake her claim. She might want to forego the sweet treats and offer Kip a cocktail. As the great Ogden Nash wrote: Candy’s (or sweets in this case) Dandy, Liquor’s Quicker.

Tiffany has decided to do her best to win Kip over, but now that she’s leaving he might start talking to his old pal Ox and find out about the unkind way she treats him. Kip might think she’s not much different from Stef and decide to leave, or test her someway.

Doesn’t Kip and Ox know each other from high school football?

How about it guys? Did you ever have a not-very-attractive, intrusive clueless bore try to put the make on you? It happened to me back in my college days. Poor girl. I tried to be tactful, but I know I really hurt her feelings. A few months later she was hanging on to some other guy’s arm and half-smiling half-sneering at me. I was secretly happy for her and very relieved.

By the time she gets ready, Steph will have shown up to reclaim her man.

How would this be – Stephanie picks up on Ox and helps him do a makeover with diet, exercise, and styling. He turns into an incredibly handsome hunk and the most famous defensive player in school history while Tiffany gets stuck with has-been Kip. Handsome Ox could carry Stef on his shoulder at the games!

Supposedly Ox and Kip were HS football opponents, but I don’t see how that could have happened short of some sort of national HS league. Ox played at Pitts High, while Kip was dating Stefani in HS somewhere out of state. I like the strip and am not usually bothered by minor inconsistencies, but this one seems like an ongoing gaping plot hole.

Tiff is not going to like being someone’s rebound.

Sort of a “wash, rinse, repeat” sort of day for a comment from me:

This is sadly showing the excessively needy side of Tiffany…. which is rather sad. She is in many ways “willing to give it all up” for the attentions of a man. Even though exaggerated a bit, the fact that she does not even contemplate simply arranging to meet Kip after her shift is done speaks volumes about her rampant insecurities.

In my opinion, the story are is STILL focused on having us learn and understand Tiffany’s psyche due to her upbringing of having her Dad be “present” in the form of monetary support, but an “absentee father” in terms of emotional support and guidance.

However, what I think we ALSO very much need is more backstory into how Ox came to be as he is. He sort of represents how many of us would like to be….. at least perceived……. always kind, always willing to help out a friend in need, etc.

I hope they get really busy and have to pull Les out of the kitchen to wait tables. He does really well at it and gives Tiffany back her dishwasher job when she decides to return to work.

I have a feeling that Kip is so clueless that he did not mean to make a move on Tiffany but she took it that way.

Does the logo on their “uniforms” remind anyone else of the Bizarro strip?

We will see how the “hot date” goes.
