OZ is a lot like Honor was. She liked being brushed, though, for a little while, then she tried to murder the brush.

At least she’s just biting the brush. Foxy goes for your hand after you’ve brushed her for a bit. She’s all Ooooo brush me brush me, purr purr, brush me some more, (turns around) brush me right there, (turns around again) purr purr OKAY WHACK BITE.

I saw an interview where the author says she takes stories from her own real cats. Today’s comic strip has that kind of feel to it. This seems like a real-life story.

I have a cat that does that, I use a second brush as a distraction and another to brush him.

Its so cute how Ora Zella thinks its a tiny cat.

The little angel I look after occasionally does this almost immediately. Does it mean she doesn’t like it ? I think she has skin issues so maybe she finds it too sensitive. She barely gets combed when she’s with me. One of the prongs is bent in and I worry it pulls at her fur.

And I will call you, George, and stroke your fur, jusssst right!

Cats should brush Georgia’s hair not vice verse because cats tongue brush their fur more than many humans brush their hair.

Ora Zella toe beans!

I’ve seen hairballs big enough to give nightmares, but never has one moved on its own in my presence. This could be a horror movie!

My current cat loves to be brushed. He’ll sit in my wife’s lap and she’ll brush him, and he’ll purr up a storm and headbutt her.

The Woman better watch OZ to make sure all she wants to do is play with her clump of fur. One of mine will try to eat what I clean out of the brush. Um, no, I’m brushing you to help cut down of hair balls …

Loaner Cat refuses to be brushed, but she’ll let me cut the mats out of her all day long, and I’ve gotten pretty close to her skin at times. Go figure. She sees the brush, she turns and saunters away with a big, fat NOPE on her face.

Puck need to show her the good side of the brush. Just be sure not to turn on its defences.l

Oh Ora Zella, you’ll feel so much better without all that loose hair!!! That’s what I tell my Novadaisy anyway!!!

Cannonball hated to be brushed until recently. I happened to have my old toothbrush in my hand, and thought to use it as a toy. Well no, it’s the best brush ever! Now Cannonball loves to be brushed on the head with that toothbrush. Forehead, eyes to ears, whiskers, chin. Purrs, kneads. I store this old toothbrush on the nightstand and Cannonball paws at it when he wants a little grooming. I wonder if it’s just a little bit like a mom-cat.

Holly Bear gets a quick brushing every night before bed. It makes her feel special.

Albert was quite the brush biter.

“I shall call him… Mini-Me.”

MippyCat hated to be brushed, but he was a longhair cat and really needed it. I used to get enough hair off of him to practically knit another cat! Iggy has shorter hair but loves it! I use the Furminator, which really gets the loose hair. Both cats are fine with it. I tell them they’re absolutely covered with cat hair!

Cant think of a good comment but I feel like I wanna comment so here I am commenting. I’ll just say have a great day I guess.

What a struggle! My guinea pigs usually hold reasonably still for brushing. It’s nail clipping that gets them riled up.

My Rachael was a long haired orange tabby. She used to love to be brushed – until the day my middle sister decided to jump around the corner and try out her new “super soaker” on me while Rachael was being brushed! Needless to say, that did not end well for anybody. Momma had a fit because she soaked the entire living room, and definitely should’ve known better at her age, (she was 23 at the time) I was covered in scratches, and Rachael never allowed herself to be brushed again! For the rest of her life, she would hiss and run if she saw a brush of any kind.

Violet-Ifa: There might be a bit of cleanup necessary. But it will all be aright.

Ta-Natash: And we brought back some food items from Where We’ll Never Tell.

Alice-Ata: We have pomegranate tea for tea and scones.

Sue Chef: Wonderful! We’ll have them for tonight’s Evening Tea.

Elvis-Anum: But the Woman had no business disrespecting Sophie like that.

Iggy: Still, things turned out alright in the end.

OT: Mom update

I love OraZ’s wildly wagging tail. And her nose. And her attitude. Okay, I just love everything about this little Agent of Chaos!

None of my four will tolerate being brushed.

I have one who does that SCRAMBLE if I try and pick her up.

Don’t tell me how to live my life. LMBO

Not sure if it’s been mentioned yet, but Ora Zella Toebeans! EEEEEEEEEEEEE!

We use the blue grooming glove with silicone “bristles” too, but follow with a few licks of the squeezable treat in a tube. Daisy would let us brush her all day for the treat.

Today, I went out on the balcony (second-story) with my cat, Rexie. On the other side of the parking lot were three deer strolling by, The reaction, translated, was “Dad, what are those?! They won’t come up here and get me, will they? They look pretty!”

I can’t brush/comb oopsie. I have a glove that I can use on Diesel. I’ve tried the glove on oopsie. He sees it and says NOPE! So I can relate. At least these guys don’t try to eat the hair I’ve do get off of them. Now Sebastian and Vlad, yeah……they always tried to eat the hair I took off of them.

Its the legs going

there are times that my older tabby cat likes to roll back and forth on the rug. That’s when I grab the brush and groom whatever parts present themselves for as long as she will tolerate it.

One cat would try to groom her clumps of hair. It smelled like her after all….

I’ve often said we could make a whole new kitten from the brushed-out fur…

All of ours have liked or do like brushings.

Ever notice how Oz, Iggy, and Beatrix have all been kittens for years on end?

Silly Woman. Attempting to brush a hyperactive cat like Ora results in chaos.

The Woobat (avatar) loved to be brushed. Top, belly, tail – just drag a brush through it. Any kind of brush – soft, wire slicker, furminator, mine… But nails ? Heck NO! He had to have those done professionally.

Squid, on the other hand, barely tolerates the brush, anod not for more than a minute. But I can clip his nails with almost no fuss. Sometimes he’ll pull the paw back and try to hide it, but I’ll just get that one later.

Ora Zella loudly proclaiming “Don’t tell me how to live my life!” would be good on merch.

OT: Storms.

Last week I tried a different brand of cat toothpaste because it was the only one the store had. It was a serious mistake. I ordered the old familiar kind and was able to restrain her today. Yes cats have nipped me and called me unbelievably foul names when I groomed them. The futility of resistance is not a concept cats accept.

I combed two kittens off my two cats: one-off Katie and one Yogi.

I’ve had cats who tolerated being vacuumed. But, they were deaf. Felix was the brush biter. He went after the brush and got my finger nail instead. Right through to the other side. One pierced finger. That hurt!

I think the woman should be wary of giving “Ora Zilla” a puppet enabler.

Adorable! Sometimes my cats get interested in the little fluffs of hair that come off the brush but instead of attacking(at least most of the time) they run away

Let them brush themselves, first. Hold the brush out so they can rub into it. Eventually, they will say “hey, this is pretty nice.” Then, they will appreciate it when you do the brushing. I only give this advice as I had a cat who was very independent and difficult to brush.
