Well, she doesn’t seem upset, that’s a good start. Of course, she hasn’t spoken with Seamus yet, so there’s still opportunity to see her upset. (Note: best seen from a distance.)
I like to think Granny Bitty has other children who are well-adjusted, and that she has grandchildren she’s proud of. Maybe Seamus is her youngest child, the problem kid who never grew up? or maybe in leprechaun years, he’s actually a teenager?
Hoo boy! I don’t know about the rest of you, but when someone you know is as mad as a wet hen is quiet and reasonable—soft spoken—not even squinting a little, I duck and cover.
There was a mention yesterday of Romeo and Juliet being derived from an earlier Italian version. That Italian version is thought to have been derived from the Persian/Arabic story of Layla and Majnun. (It’s known in both languages.) L&M is itself thought to derive from an even earlier version. (Babylonian? Sumerian?)
I recall reading about an English teacher who was teaching R&J to Arab students. He had them blend R&J with L&M. I thought that was a brilliant move. They would gain a greater understanding of both versions, of English and Arabic literature.
“Don’t you think that daisies are the friendliest flower?”
This is so very delightful! It’s sending my spring fever off the chart!
And, above all, that darling Granny Bitty! How cute can one girl get?!
She reminds me of Fionnula Flanagan. Same twinkle in her eyes, (even if they are closed here), and glorious silver crown of hair. I’ve loved her in many shows, especially “Waking Ned Devine” and Star Treks.
I’d love Georgia to weigh in on panel 2! Because of her fangs, and the fact she is almost stock still, I say OZ is stopped in mid-swat. She may be impetuous, but she’s not stupid and she probably knows this is one time to reign in her impulses!!
A person of such majesty causes one to show respect automatically. Ora Zella will learn the propper protocol as she grows up. However, now, a salute works.
Queen Lisa Mole: We’ll meet you at the Owl Temple. Duffy and Trish, want to join us?
Duffy O’Doyle: Sure. We love to see the underground tunnels. Our dwarf friends first showed them to us.
King Monty: And if we dig up some gold or gems along the way, they’re yours.
Trish: That’s really kind of ye.
Beatrixia: And maybe I’ll have some stories to write down.
Wicket: I have a few of my friends if anyone needs a lift.
Puckmosis: I think I know of someone who might appreciate that.
Enter Baba-Stet
Baba: Wicket! Long time no see!
Wicket: May I be your pilot to the Anger Games?
Baba: I thought you’d never ask.
Reminder: Baba and Wicket had a brief Owl and Pussycat fling like their descendants. They parted amicably and remain friends. Except their alma maters are fierce rivals. (Temple Owls and New Villa).
Granny Bitty is drop-dead gorgeous as a granny. Can you just imagine the knockout she must have been in her youth? I do believe Seamus is in for an ear tweaking and a stern talking-to!
Such lovely, lovely detail! And OraZella’s amazing salute! I can see Puck slipping up to Granny Bitty when this is over and asking, “Can you teach me how to do that?”
Well, I am hoping that the broken links for several of my comics today (Amanda the Great, UFO, Little Dog Lost) does not bode ill for the upcoming “New” GC!
That rendition of Granny Bitty (with Orazuzu saluting her) is going to create a lot of comments today. Wondering if we will get to 500 (always a milestone).
I can help with that by commenting, I just noticed the size difference of OZ to Granny Bitty. OZ looks huge next go Queen Bitty! Queen Bitty must be very tiny, indeed!
I’ve said it before, and will no doubt say it again: our Georgia is a treasure; she gifts us with such art as Granny Bitty, the party at the pond, and all those night skies—and that’s alongside plucking the heartstrings with such as “Bye, mow mow” and many other scenes.

Ok, who else heard an Irish accent as you read the last panel? Or was it just me?
Granny Bitty may not be paying attention to you Ora Zela, but I guarantee that she sees you! ❤️

I don’t know if the Mama Vaccuum is nodding yes or backing away nervously. Her “eyes” seem a bit wide.

OZ, unless you are in the military, you do not salute royalty. You bow or curtsey. But at least you are trying to show respect for the Queen.

I can hear hear the royal music playing, as she walks! I also bet that Seamus, and the rest of his army, are surrounded by dust bunnies!

Second panel is nearly entirely in the colours of the Irish flag….
Oh, I could use some of her calm, serenity, and grace in the face of chaos. The very molecules rearrange in her presence. I love this.
