And B has somehow concluded that her mother ‘tempted’ her father and the result was a child. And now she sees herself walking in her mother’s foot steps. Nah. Too complicated…

So, Bernice, imagine yourself as the psychologist you aspire to be. Now suppose a client were to come to you with the same sort of story—and the same anxiety about it—that you’re about to spill to Nancy. What should you tell them?

Okay, that was kind of a trick question, because I built in an assumption that the best thing to do would be to tell the person something. Perhaps it would be better to ask them something (though I’m not sure just what, assuming they’ve already effectively answered the obvious “How do you feel about that?”).

We’re not likely to learn Bernice’s answer to my hypothetical question any time soon. I am, however, looking forward to learning what Nancy will tell or ask Bernice.

So the entire banana pie episode was merely a setup for Nancy to grab a banana and demonstrate to Bernice how to….

This is getting ridiculous. Once again a three day arc stretched out to three weeks and they have no idea how to end it. Is this going to be like the Tara or Betts arc and just dropped and they come back to it later when they run out of ideas on other arcs ? What about Tiff’s story with the restaurant? It’s like they have ran out of ideas so they just keep dragging everything out with no end in sight.

Well I’ll be! Berniece feels GUILTY for her actions. Nil’s response, or lack thereof, has not played into this angst at all.

Always good to see the writer for this comic has not lost their grip on the ridiculous. This story went directly to stupid right on cue! Of course, Bernice has picked the right person to discuss her new-found “talent” with, as Nancy DeGroot is a well known “temptress” herself. She can teach Bernice how to control and channel her fiery sexuality, keeping the men of Luannville safe from a fate worse than death. I guess it’s kind of like becoming a sort of sexual super-hero. Maybe there’s a how-to book about it that Nancy has stashed in her underwear drawer.

Right out of high school, I stayed in a house with 3 couples. The husbands worked the night shift and after a couple of days the girls, and they were girls, decided to ignore the fact that I was male and continued their conversations as such. I am still recovering from PTSD!

I wonder if Bernice will tell Nancy the actual facts of what happened with Nil, or if she will make up some convoluted distortion of what happened. I think Bernice will add things that weren’t there. Nil gave her a compliment, but in B’s mind she now thinks Nil loves her.

The dictionary definition of temptress = a woman who tempts someone to do something, typically a sexually attractive woman who sets out to allure or seduce someone.

So…. while Bernice is technically accurate in some fashion with her use of the word, I am feeling sad for her feeling this way about the situation between her and Nil. We, the audience, can obviously see her reaction is very “over-the-top”…. but it feels like a legitimate sort of idea that Bernice might draw from the situation that transpired….. we all know she can sometimes…. with her Type A personality…. over-react to things.

Yet…. I am feeling pretty confident that Mrs. DeGroot will be able to successfully help Bernice see how extreme Bernice’s thoughts are about what transpired. I suspect in the end, Mrs. DeGroot will be able to help Bernice see that her gentle kiss given to Nil was kind, positive, and wholly appropriate given Bernice’s feelings and Bernice’s understanding of Nil’s feelings. I am hoping Mrs. DeGroot helps Bernice see better how positive Bernice’s actions were and how pleasant the entirety of the experience was for both Bernice and Nil.

And, I am hoping that the arc does not end come Saturday, with just a conclusion to Bernice and Mrs. DeGroot talking…. but I have a feeling it may. I would really like this arc to continue at least until where Bernice and Nil communicate a bit again….. before switching to a new arc.

But… I just have this sneaking suspicion that Greg will end this week and this arc WITHOUT having Bernice and Nil speak again….. and likely this will be maintained for multiple weeks of comics and potentially several different arcs will occur…. before again seek Bernice and Nil.
