Yesssss… Bets is going to stay!! This is going to get GOOD!! lol

Irma and Al will have to explain their hypocrisy, if they complain about it.

I am surprised Les doesn’t have the guts to talk to Tiff about when he could get his room back, now that she’s all healed. He went from the High School bully to a doormat for women.

    .

So will Bets sleep with Gunther, in his room, or how will this play out?

OMG. What a pair of wusses you are, Les and Gunther. So afraid of Tiff. SO, if Bets is there to stay, Les will fume. Gunther would have a girl in his bed and he is stuck sleeping on the beanie while Tiff sleeps in his bed. So it is up to LES to kick her out and take back his bed.

This painful to read arc continues as seriously you guys have zero problems that aren’t either your own fault or you guys just being slutshaming words I can’t say on this fine site. Bets staying though.. that will be intresting both because it traps the greys in their own stupid logic from one of the series worst arcs (a low bar sure but it cleared it) and because it might finally break her and gunther up. And because it’s something other than two idiots trying to throw someone ONE OF THEM INVITED AND GAVE HIS ROOM out for nothing at all. LIke now it’s an actual conflict.

Misdirection again. Bets is all cool at the continuing insults of Irma so clearly being drawn. Look at Panel 1. Irma totally ignores and talks over a smiling Bets. So in panel 3 Bets drops a nuclear bomb right in that likely bigots face (although I credit equally the theory that Irma just does not see another strong woman take her Gunthie away from her, race has nothing to do with it; brilliant GnK) by declaring that she is going to move in too. So manipulative Tiffany still keeps Les’s room (and if I remember right, it was Les who was eager to help in the first place) but has Bets there too. Quite a hot cup of tea, what? Yes, stick that right in that hypocrites big orange hair mug Bets. Plus where do you suppose Bets will sleep, hmmm? Not only that but Irma (Al I’m still not sure of) has less leverage now. Bets doesn’t have to pay rent, as no one else is, including Tiffany, and whatever one thinks the reason is—either bigotry or mom issues—the die is cast. Boy that backfired didn’t it? Most interesting arc in many a day.

Good for you Bets! Do everything you can to make the Gray’s implode and Tiffany freak out! Bets has had enough of being treated like a second-class citizen and she’s gonna make them all come to terms. Including Gunther. She might have even decided the relationship is bs and plans to have some fun with all of them before she leaves.

Well, Gunther didn’t speak up in any way to challenge or change the situation. Neither did Les. Bets may now have jumped into the impending fray, to trigger reactions to what has just been swept under a rug. Meanwhile, no one has yet spoken to Tiff. She could unwittingly diffuse the tension by breezing back from the dorm party with an announcement that she has decided to move back there or to some other on-campus housing (presuming there exists any alternative to the dorm suite in which Dez & Stef also have been living). I suggest this alternative to moving back home to the quiet of the mansion because she has just been to a party on-campus and perhaps enjoyed so much the stimulation of being surrounded by activity.

Would Bets then be so eager to test the boundaries? Maybe. She would no longer have the support of the argument that a fully-recovered Tiff has been allowed to stay at the Gulag with the boys. Would this be more likely to impel a resolution of the family discussions with Al & Irma that were left hanging untouched over the dinner table?

The situation is getting more and more complicated. GOOD! The general stress will increase, but let’s admit it, Bets is right! It’s obvious that staying in a friend’s room is different than staying in your boyfriend’s room, but the way Bets is treated by Irma and ignored by Al is awful and if Tiffany gets special treatment just because she’s her, I want to read what excuse they will have for treat Bers badly when she’ll do the same. Or maybe Tiffany will see what’s happening and returning to the dorm dragging Bets with her for preserv Les and Gunther’s tranquillity?

There’s no longer any doubt about it, Irma and Mr. Gray are openly disrespecting Bets and making it clear she is NOT welcome or wanted.

And of course Bets is going to say, well, if Tiffany can live here, then so can I. Either she’s clueless as to what’s really going on here or she’s just daring them to tell her to her face that she can’t move in because she’s black.

There is one really stupid, consistent theme in this comic, and that is these young teens taking advantage of, and abusing other people’s property. Here we have yet another example, a student who is going to vacate a dorm room that is probably paid for by her parents (we don’t know any different) to move into a rental house without the permission of the owners. The same situation happened with Tiffany and her father’s house, Luann and her parent’s business, Brad and his parents rental property and probably countless other times I can’t remember. And it’s not like they do something like installing a flat screen tv, oh no, they sublet, remodel, hide felons. run illegal businesses AND act totally entitled the whole time they’re doing it.

Bless your hearts.” 8^ )

She will return to Mooney U. or the newly repaired McManse. This will cause a crisis now since Bets has stated her intention of taking up residence in the Gulag. And just how will that play out?!

I guess in some ways it will be an “interesting” week. But, I guess for me, it would have IMO been better just to have Tiffany move out. To me, this feels like a cheesy story arc now focusing on Gun and Bets possibly cohabitating…. which feels rather blah to me.

I think that the way Gun and Les are living (possibly/probably) rent free in Al & Irma’s guest house MEANS Les & Gun should not have add-ins.

Whether Gun and Bets live together is not something I feel positive or negative about….either way is fine depending upon what the couple would want….. the problem is they are not being ADULTS making these decisions. If Gun or Gun and Les had their own apartment that they PAID for and were independently living…. then they should do as they like. But this feels more like CHILDREN just doing whatever without respect or care to who is supporting them.

The wimp here is actually Les. He was the one who invited Tiff to stay while she convalesced. Now she’s better; he’s realizing already that she’s taking advantage of him (and not in the way he would like). He could say something like “…I’m moving back into my room.. I plan to sleep n my bed; you want to stay in it with me? fine…if not well…”

Was the way Irma and Al reacted to Tiffany a hope that Gunther would dump Bets for Tiffany? If Bets does stay, how does Al deal with the fact that neither gal should be there? Will the problem of Tiffany be solved when she returns from the party with an announcement that she’s moving on?

It’s funny how they act like Bets is a ghost or something and don’t acknowledge her presence here. I’d be stewing if I were Bets. Especially getting cut off like that by Irma. Oof! And all that after the “If you invite THAT WOMAN to live there it will be a BAWDYHOUSE!” remark. I’m not even a Bets fan but this is some uncomfortable levels of flagrant disrespect to your son’s girlfriend.

Also I love how Bets is enthusiastic to call Tiff a mooch and get her kicked out, but the second she sees an opportunity to mooch in the same way as Tiff, she makes a leap for it.

Bets is being so polite, thanking Irma for the dinner while Irma never said anything to her throughout the evening and could only manage to whisper to Gunther behind her back. Les should tell Tiff that she’s welcome to move in with the Grays; they have more space and he can say that they have expressed an interest in her doing that. Wouldn’t that be funny; she shows up at their door and says " i hear you’re quite fond of me…. they said i should move in here…"

    So many questions …

    - When did the scheming, thieving bully become such a clueless wuss? Old Les would have come up with a scheme to drive Tiff out.

    - So now Irma is sending food to (the partying) Tiff? When did that start?

    - (Who’s the better cook, Irma or Gunther?)

    - Did either Al or Irma lift a finger to help their beloved Tiffany while she was actually recuperating?

    - Did Les or Gunther ask Al’s permission for Tiff to stay in the Gulag? Why not, if he’s Lord of the Manor?

    - Will Gunther allow Bets to stay, even one night, in the Gulag?

    - If – another Luanniverse – Gunther and Tiff were announce to Al and Irma that they were a couple and would be staying together, what would be the parents’ reaction? Same as with Rosa?

    - Since none of this makes any sense at all, is it all just a setup to highlight the wildly different status of Tiffany and Bets? If so, what is the big difference? Do GnK have the cojones to go there? (We know the answer to that last one.)
