OT: 2 updates from Sheila about Salem

I really hope Iggy’s playing in a fresh batch of litter, because the alternative is, well, funny but also nauseating …

Love the look on Goldie’s face when she says “let’s get back to Lupin being old”. I’m also fine with it.

Lupin is used to being the “youngster”. Adjustments are required.

That last panel of Iggy making sand castles in the litterbox breaks the cuteness scale. One of our neighbors, who had six kids, built a huge sandbox in his back yard. It was probably about 8 ft by 8 ft. Even though there were quite a few free range neighborhood cats, they never used it as a litter box—probably because the concept of a litter box was still foreign.

Multiple litter boxes are needed to avoid this stress.

I think this has enough going on to be a Rueben candidate.

Lupin, there are cats who would be happy to be called merely middle aged. Just ask Elvis.

I’m pleased to see that American kittens play with bucket and spade too.

I know it’s just coincidence, but I’m getting a giggle over the cats arguing about age on my birthday. (Fifty-two. Which isn’t bad for some the doctors said would never make it to twenty.)

Of course the really old ancient one is Elvis. Okay okay me will keeps off your lawn.

And speaking of old and middle age, the oldest living relic is Baba Mousey. She so old that she was middle age when ancient aliens first come to planet earth.

Lupin reminds me of the coworker who mourned her 30th birthday. I thought that was so silly. That’s when I demanded the gag gifts, black roses, and such. Sure enough, when 30 rolled around, I got them, including a fake black rose and a Grim Reaper mug (“Relax. I’m just here for the cake. Happy birthday!”) I still have them, 27 years later.

I had a kitty (Thelma) – who outgrew it, thankfully – who would lay in the litterbox, paws tucked under. She and her sister (Louise) were also tended to be like OZ – digging a hole, covering, covering some more, (kicking litter out of the box), very noisy the entire time. My two nowadays (Lucy & Linus) like the challenge of trying to see how much litter they can track off of the large (2×3) litter mat outside of their box.

I believe this is the first time I’ve seen Lupin poof out…

Iggy playing in the litter box…! My Squeee can be heard across the pond at y’all’s new King party. I’m almost too overcome with his cuteness to comment on the triple shot of toebeans (plus another in diff panel).

Iggy does his business, flicks a little litter over, and is in his way. Punto carries on like he’s burying Bluebeard’s treasure. You’ll never find it without a map!

Ha ha ha! I love it! Sweet Iggy(not) playing in the litter box! And(not) middle aged Lupin, puffing out! I was trying to decide what kind of flower he was, since Elvis is a sunflower…a white mum, comes to mind!

I guess I don’t understand the problem, but then as recommended with two cats, we have three litter boxes in the house.

Lupin: Puck, help!

He’s not playing. He’s preparing for a career in architecture.

Roy is the most fastidious, when it comes to the box, but is not above drinking out of the toilet. With Poodle, the box is optional and only if I take her, or escort and lift her. And like Pickle she won’t dig or bury it. Just nursed her through a bladder or kidney infection. Poody is a Showshoe, and I am just learning are prone to kidney issues. If that’s the case, I need to switch her dry food to something less budget friendly and more Cat friendly

Underlying this strip is that there is something bad about being old.

Nothing to say about this one, the way the characters bounce off each other is just hilarious! I remember Georgia saying Goldie was when they adopted her either three or nine with great teeth, so hard to say if she is indeed middle-aged.

Old age is inherited—you get it from your kits!

It is immensely satisfying to see lupid razzed about his age after the MANY shots he’s taken at Elvis for being old. And immensely adorable to see Iggy playing.

Now he knows how Elvis feels about being called old.

When Oopsie finally came to live with me and he was out of the crate (to acclimate him), I didn’t have to worry about him using the box. He’s since calmed down, but he would literally make MOUNDS. He was just so happy that he could finally properly bury.

He’s been fluffy for longer than usual.

Aw, Iggy playing in the litter box. It’s both cute and a little gross, considering… The many facial expressions here are amazing

I love how Iggy just shows up waving, especially when he is doing something Elvis doesn’t approve of.

How is it that no matter what Iggy does, what he gets into, whether he sings or yowls, he is just plain adorable. Tho I think I’ll qualify a hug right now.

I hear ya, Goldie. I’m also fine with being middle-aged. ❤ It’s a good time of life. Most of the uncertainties have been resolved, and a lot of hard won wisdom is at my disposal. I’m finally happy with my life’s path and where it’s heading. (๑′ᴗ‵๑)
