Wow. We were hoping, but I’m not sure we really dared to believe it happen like this….

Wait, he actually listened to reason and didn’t accuse Tiff of trying to sabotage this when presented with clear evidence?! WHAT MADNESS IS THIS?!

I will forgive the long delay if this is the time that Ann FINALLY gets her just desserts.

Hopefully we don’t get another twist, and it turns out that waving in the womb is a thing for all babies in the family.

So hopefully Tom is mature enough to give Ann some rope to hang herself with. She’s already started down that path – but it would be more complete if she implicates herself again now that his eyes have been opened.

Wow! I know others maybe be tired of this storyline, but it has gotten so many comments per each strip. People are paying attention, that’s for sure. Likely why we’re getting this instead of Puddles, or Nil, etc.

Looks like maybe Ann won’t win this round!!

So, 3 things to note here.

1. Tom clearly knows who Les is. Maybe he hasn’t actually met him before now but he definitely knows enough not to be shocked or curious upon hearing that this is his ultrasound.

2. For all u ultra pessimists out there who all but confirmed that he’s somehow going to flip this on Tiff in an impressive feat of stupidity and resigned themselves to more Ann, here u go.

3. I WAS WRONG!!!! Tom actually does seem to be legitimately angry about this!! It might be to early to be getting my hopes up but I dare say, Ann might get the type of break-up confrontation she deserves after all! Imagine! A Luann arc where the ending isnt a disappointment

Well, Well, Well. I KNEW It! Tiff DID bring Les and he WAS waiting outside! I Bet My MG 42 last week that he WAS and looks like My MG 42 is SAFE. Now “who” was that who kept saying “Les wasn’t an issue?” I think of “who” that was later.

And Look! Tom is waking up to the truth! Or IS He? Tiff? You’d better follow the Big DOPE, er I MEAN, the Big DADDY when he confronts Ann, least she pulls an expected FAST one. Take “sonny boy” with you.

But before all THAT. Tiffany, I’d get an APOLOGY from POPS Right NOW. He OWES one and you should get it NOW in case something goes wrong. And Pray that 1) Ann isn’t pregnant. And 2) Tom doesn’t suddenly go STUPID and forgive her. ;)

Looks like I went out on the wrong limb predicting a cut to a new arc.

So now will Tom finally give Ann the boot, or will Ann BS her way out of it?

And does Tiffany have any more “character witnesses” waiting in the wings?

And if Ann does get the boot, what about that rock on her finger? Will Tom want it back? Will he decide it’s a small price to pay for being rid of her? Will she have to sell it to raise money to reimburse the lingerie scam victims?

Thumbs up to Tiffany, by the way, for showing sympathy for her father, not giving him the “I told you so” treatment, and not switching the focus to “how Ann mistreated me.”

Oh yes!!!! This turn is really looking promising! Instead of making excuses for Ann, or being completely besotted by her, we see Tom using the brain that’s inside his cranium!

OMG he does get it okay color me surprised i didn’t see that coming but at the same time it’s nice to see his face at last. i dunno why him not being seen made me think of the show Police Squad where you see the bottom of that one Cop who’s name i off the top of my head forget and never see his head. i dunno why that just came to me but it did

I was up and couldn’t resist the urge to look in, but all that angst for THIS? Whadda let down. I still don’t understand the purpose of having Ann kicked out of the Fuze. Maybe by the end of November we’ll know. Sigh

Oh, good. Maybe Tom isn’t as dumb as he looks.

Keeping my fingers crossed that Ann doesn’t figure out some way to turn this to her advantage…

Oh, Les. Don’t be so flippant. You want to come across as sincere and apologetic. This is not the time to be casual. Chin up. Blank faced. Shoulders straight. Make yourself believable. Tom, notice Les has his mom’s hair? Take a good look and you will see Ann in her son (not necessarily the bad stuff – he does have his Uncle Al in him – more than his mother).

Before confronting her, Tom needs to ask Ann if he can go with her to her next ob-gyn visit and watch her response.

This is too good/too easy…. What’s the catch?

Plot twist: I bet that Ann Eiffel is really pregnant. BTW, first meeting for Tom and Leslie???

One possible twist – Ann accuses Tiff and Les of duplicating the ultrasound photo themselves, because, 1) Tiff had the opportunity to do that while Tom and Ann were gone and 2) it is rather obvious that both Tiff and Les are not fans of Ann, so they would team up to discredit her. Tom might be dumb enough to buy it.

Hopefully Tom has the sense to block Ann out of the bank accounts before confronting her. In previous storylines she was controlling the money and cut Tiffany out. Perhaps Tom isn’t as broke as Ann told Tiffany and Ann’s been skimming Tiffany’s allowance for a getaway fund.

But let us not forget that while Ann has seemingly supernatural powers of evil, she has always been an angel to Tom. She needs to be kept away from Tom so she can’t bawl her way into his forgiving her.

Tiff and Les need to whisk Tom off to the Fuze so they can sit him down for an uninterrupted heart to heart with Al. And with T.J. And with Brad. And with Bernice. And with any one else who has crossed her path. Once confronted by a parade of witnesses, perhaps even Tom will be able to overcome his infatuation and realize what a basilisk Ann is, even if she has been wonderful to him.

Ann: Boo hoo, I’m so sorry! I love you so much I wanted to make sure I would marry you! Boo hooooooo. — my prediction (that I really hope I am wrong about) for this week. (I was surprised by Tom’s reaction here — it is hopeful!)

I’m STILL not sure that Ann is not actually pregnant. I guess we’ll find out.

Well, as per usual, logic does not work, what seemed at first to be a rejection of the obvious by Tom turns out just to be a set-up for what seems to be the end of Ann. Maybe so, and of course that would be satisfying, but I will go out on a teeny, tiny limb and say “not so fast.” Wait for it…..wait…

Okay Mr. Attorney, Tom, beware of the real law, here. Murphy’s Law which states that if anything can go wrong, it probably will. You are dealing with Ann Eiffel, who has been around the block a few times. So, Tommy my man, watch that first step, it could be quite a drop.

Ann’s previous two departures have been abrupt, so I’m holding out a little hope that this will remain straightforward. Her departure from the bookstore was especially fast; nobody expected the Spanish Inquisition – sorry, nobody expected an abrupt out-of-the-blue transfer to Japan. Maybe…maybe…

However, if she goes now, that’ll leave us with the question of why we followed Ann getting thrown out of the Fuse (just to take her down a notch?).

I am not on board with the idea that Chekov’s room is intended to be occupied by Tiff in the third act. Hopefully that’s an unrelated setup for a character TBD later.

It was going great for Tiff for 2 1/2 panels, until Les walked in!!

Ann Eifel is an escape artist wrapped in teflon. Wanna bet she weasels her way out and ends up smelling like a rose.

“I thought I knew Ann,” says the man who apparently knew about her son, but never bothered to speak to him once before now despite that he was about to become his stepdad.

Too many times Tiff has been hung out to dry. I’m not convinced yet.

Hopefully, Tom’s “other brain” should be kicking in about now. Just in time to kick out Evil Annie. For some reason, I do not feel Evil Annie will go down easy, so I hope Tiff and Les have their planets in alignment to make this stick.

One possibility: Ann has been pregnant all along, but, not having had an ultrasound yet, used the old one as a symbolic substitute.White lie territory. At least that would keep the story going…

Time for Ann Awful to pull the old fake suicide or fake miscarriage bit. My evil sister pulled all kinds of tricks like that to get her way and she still does.

I hope this is finally turning in Tiff’s direction. Who knows what Ann may try or lie about to fool him onto her sided again?

A lot is going to go wrong…

This is too easy – Ann is going to say she is pregnant but was unable to get an ultrasound yet so used the one she had of Les as a cute way to break it to Tom. She will say she held off giving it to him because she did not want to influence him to marry her. Tom will say “I knew it!” Story back on! Dang it – hate Ann! If she was not pregnant she will probably be after the romantic get away thry were just on. Tiffany should have told her father how Ann has been treating her while she had the chance.

I really want to be wrong, I want to see Tom be a man and finally stand up for his own flesh and blood daughter, but Ann isn’t there yet with her claws, fangs and slick B.S. Time will tell.

If he is Smart he will hire a Private Detective to really go into Anne’s history. Les might be interested too.

I love how he’s sad, angry, feels sick, but his face shows all the emotional range of a toenail.

Paula Abdul once sang a song that describes Anne perfectly. It is called “Cold Hearted Snake”.

And I think Les should also have a little confrontation with his evil mother for abandoning him.

This is the first time I have seen Tiffany smile in a long time!

I am still not getting my hopes up, somehow things will get twisted back in Ann’s favor.

There’s a simple enough way for Tom to confirm this….simply tell Ann that he’s accompanying her to the next OB/GYN appointment and then watch her face.

Help me out.

1. When actually did Tom and Ann meet? How long have they known each other?2. Does Les have a father some where I’m missing?3. Are Tiffany and Les the same age?

Just stirring it up …

Greg’s written other characters out of the strip. How long’s it been since we saw Aaron Hill? Or Quill? Or that abusive ex of Toni’s?

Those all just went away without a trace. It’s still possible to get Ann out of the regular continuity and have her return for an occasional cameo, for those who need someone to boo and hiss at.

YESSS IF THEY BREAK UP I WILL BE SO HAPPY IT GETS ANN OUT OF A HUGE PART OF TIFF’S LIFE GO TOM ANN SUX.

I am hoping that Les spills the beans about what his mother is really like to Tom so that he will become so repulsed by her that not even the smoothest lie will be able to sway him.

GO TOM! Confront her! And HOORAY! We now know for sure that Tom knows that Les exists. Tiffany may feel bad for a while, but she did it for her father’s sake and that’s good.

dare we hope that this is the end of Ann Eiffel and Tom Ferrell as a couple?Seeing the two ultrasounds in the same place does lend credence to why there’s no modern metadata around it (it’s cropped copy of a 20 year old ultrasound)

Please let this be the end of Ann and not a trick.

Has Tiffany finally gotten through to her father or is he lovestruck? Is Ann Eiffel through in the Farrell household or does she have an ace up her sleeve? What is Jack up to these days? These questions any many more will be answered in the next episode of "So-….I mean, the next strip.

Guess I was wrong about Tiffany, she didn’t go to Ann first. Well Greg you out foxed me.

Now that it appears to be happening I still can’t shake the nagging feeling that The Misery arc ain’t over for Tiff!

All I can say is…uh-oh!

The ultrasound should just be a starting point. Dad needs to insist on a visit with Ann to her OB/GYN for a real-time ultrasound.

At least he knows who she really is now.

First thoughts.. OMG yessss! Les DID say “go BIG!”

“Who fakes a pregnancy?”- it’s quite common on soap operas!

I have a very different take – As evil as we all know Ann is, she has made Tiffany’s dad very happy, and she has helped him get his finances in order – and lets face it, Tiffany has grown quite a bit as a woman by the actions that Ann took and is starting to see the world as an adult who’s actions do impact her in a very real way, and she knows who her friends really are and cares for them because she knows they care for her. Now, I don’t like Ann using her pregnancy as a potential back-up to trap her father, but in a very twisted way, Ann has done good things for her father, helped him get his financial affairs in order, and I think the real twist will be that she honestly does love Tiffany’s father.

Right now I have this stomach churning impending sense of doom. If this all blows up and we go to Ann being forgiven I will be seriously ill and really disappointed.

Let’s face it. After all this time where would Tiffany be without Ann? Tiff originally was miserable because someone was competing with her for her father’s love.

Now that she will (apparently) revert to his princess, will she revert to svelte Tiffany again? Will a svelte Tiffany be changed in personality due to her Trials and Tribulations? A svelte Tiff will definitely put Les into Lothario mode again. Who else?

Maybe Tom will take/send Tiffany to Paris for the summer like he used to and allow Luann to rise from the ashes of neglect. Maybe she will induce Simone Souffle to introduce a Plus Size line of her lingerie.

Maybe…BUT WAIT! Tiffany hasn’t dispelled The Wicked Witch of Southern California! YET!

i’m sensing an unexpected turn

Les is SO going to become Toms “son”. If not through blood or marriage, then through mentorship.

Still suspect that Ann wiggles out of this one. Something along the line that she used a home pregnancy test to know before the trip and only used the picture as a representative prop since a real one was not available yet. I’m hoping to see on Saturday a view of Tom’s giant house with boxes and a moving truck.

We haven’t heard from Ann yet. She’s already shown she can outsmart every other character except T.J. This might be her Academy Award moment.

Thus, the Great Awakening begins. The Evans don’t strike me as Qanon types, however.

It’s a joke; no political intent.

Somehow, someway, Ann’s gonna come out on top; you know, like a cat, always lands on its feet.

Poor Tom.

This is a nice way to start the week. And it coincides with the announcement that the “Redskins” football name is going to be retired.

Ann is fast on her feet and a skilled con artist. Look for her to slither out of this.

Tom and Ann have been together for how long and this is his first time meeting Les?

If Ann is overhearing all of this, she might be planning her get away, i.e. empty out Tom’s bank accounts and hit the road. Because she can’t win on matters of trust and honesty.

The only thing that could make this worse is if it turns out that ultrasound isn’t even of Les but a completely different baby. I know. Soap Opera Drama!

The pattern with Ann Eiffel is that she gets caught in this or that scam, a blow up ensues, and life returns to normal, for awhile.

I was never a fan of Tiffany for obvious reasons, but I will say I’m warming up to her a little bit. I just hope this doesn’t explode in Tiff’s face and leave her really out in the cold.

Actually, that doesn’t prove anything, Ann could still say that Tiffany simply made a copy of the ultrasound she found and Les is just saying it’s him because he hates Ann.

What Tom should do is ask to speak to Ann’s obstetrician and where she had the ultrasound done so he can also talk to them.

Besides the expected reactions, I’d like to add one – Tiffany does seem sorry that she’s cause pain to her dad.

I don’t normally post, but Tiffany’s dad is OBVIOUSLY a very wealthy man, and you’d think one of the FIRST things anyone like that would do when they get into a serious (or even not so serious) relationship would be to DO A COMPLETE BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION on the person.

“Wanted” to marry her. Looks like Tom has some second thoughts!

Let’s face it…Tiffany would do anything to not have Tom marry Ann. He could think that she’s lying about the fake pregnancy, and has brought Les into it. Ann, of course, will deny the allegations. She will say that Tiffany and Les are lying about the sonogram because they are against the marriage, and would do anything to ruin Ann’s chances of happiness. I am so willing to bet that Tom will forgive Ann, and marry her, anyway. He will gain a wife, but lose a daughter.

And aha moment for Tom.

I see what you did there with the last strip. Made things ambiguous. A cliffhanger. Will he? Won’t he? Good one. He’s actually pissed. I am surprised. What other twists and turns do you have in store for us before this particular arc ends, Greg? Guess we’ll have to wait and see. BTW, I know I’m late on this but… siblings Eiffel and Gray? Previous marriage? Legally changed her name? (if so, what’s the real one?) Half siblings?

It is amazing that Ann has allowed Tiff and Les to reach and talk to Tom. Maybe she realized her scheme has been uncovered and she left without telling anyone.

You’re not helping, Les.

Not sure confrontation is the best way to go with Ann. She’s managed to weasel out under pressure before.

Just how much could you sue for a broken engagement? Asking for a friend…

Interesting change from what “seemed” his emotion on Saturday. Ideas:

1. Now he is upset at Ann. But…. how will this proceed?

2. He could, of course, break it off with Ann, and tell her to “vamoose”. That is what many folks want and suggest. It is what Tiffany (in part) wants as well. But, it feels too simple an ending to me.

3. He could be “fire and brimstone” angry…. but Ann may have ways to diffuse the anger. Not sure what ideas she could formulate to get the anger to go away…. but we will see.

4. With the likely ample commingling of Tom and Ann’s gametes… it would be a really interesting conundrum if after this false “new baby” sonogram image is discussed, Ann takes a pregnancy test and finds out that she is now really pregnant in the current situation. This seems perhaps too twisty a plot development for “Luann” the comic, however. But…. it would be awfully damn interesting.

Overall…. I just cannot imagine that Greg is going to get rid of Ann for any extended period of time… so I just have to think there is some really creative way Greg is going to steer us. I just have no idea what it may be.

He should also learn that she used to sell fake imitation lingerie.

Wait….what if Tiffany suggests that they play along with Ann because Tom cares about her so much and Tiffany wants him to be happy? … What if Les suggests it?

Wow, he is dumb as a bag of rocks. Ann has him wrapped around her fingers. I fear Ann will pull the wool over his eyes again even with this evidence. He must be very lonely and vulnerable. But wake up already and Man up. I am really trying to avoid calling him names. Sheesh.

Les gets more and more interesting as time passes. His attachment to his kitten is downright endearing. And his “range” is broadening beyond just being a sulky lowlife.

How about this? Tom confronts Ann, Ann says, “Oh, dear! I mixed them up!” and produces another ultrasound—also hers, of a baby she miscarried (or adopted out, whatever). Or produces an ultrasound that isn’t hers. Handwave how she gets out of that. Tom marries her. Then later she fakes a miscarriage. OR she finds out she’s legit PG—in RL she wouldn’t be far enough along to show an ultrasound like that, but this is Luannville.

Tiffany did tell her dad that the ultrasound belonged to Ann’s 20-year-old son, Les.

I’m really afraid to get my hopes up. But, I hope, I hope, I hope that we will finally be free of Ann Awful. Please! Enough! We are SO tired of Tiffany being crapped on.

How the hell did I end up emotionally invested in a comic strip? This hasn’t happened since I watched Hoodwinked! with the goodie bandit.

This is a lot for Tom Farrell to take in. He thought he was going to have a wife and son on the way. Now his daughter has undeniable proof that Ann Eiffel is not the wonderful woman he thought she was. Faking a pregnancy? That’s just wrong – even he knows that.

His desire to confront Ann is understandable, but he should talk to Les first. He needs to know more about the woman who has been monopolizing all his time… and his money.

The big showdown is coming? Dare I dream? Dare I hope…?

If Ann gets banished from the cast – what will we do for plots? Are we back to Shannon wants a tree house but a neighbor protested to the building department. Also I still have concern about Tiffany being reinstated as rich Daddy’s little girl. Tiffany learning to get a life on her own would be more interesting.

He should be able to tell just because it has deteriorated over the last 20 years.

It no longer has that “New Ultrasound Smell”.

I’ll bet Ann will some how blame Tiff for messing with the picture and say “Tiff don’t like me boo-hoo”

For someone who’s wealthy and should be wary of attracting the attention of gold-diggers and con-artists, Tom is pretty naive. “I need to confront her!” …or… he could do a little background checking like most people with that kind of money do when someone new shows up. But up till now, he’s portrayed as being a very gullible fool to soon be parted with his money.

Holy hole-in-the-head, Gang! Tom Farrell, awakened from his months of being a gullible patsy for Awful Annie?! What a stunning reversal! —And, if it sticks (that’s a BIG “if”), a huge victory for Tiffany Farrell and huge defeat for scheming evil Ann Eiffel. I am feeling uncertain about this, because such a sudden change-of-heart seems to be a shaky thing….

But, at least for today, I’m doing Snoopy’s Joy Dance!

Tom is a wealthy man who obviously has not received any lessons in avoidance of ‘Gold Diggers’ in the high-priced university he undoubtedly attended. Hopefully Tiffany will bring him up to date in all the cruelties Ann has done to her before confronting the ‘*itch’.

There will be a twist to the story, an explanation for the sonogram, a way for Ann to maintain her place in the family, etc…….

In the words of Prince at the end of the “Partyman” music video: This Ain’t Over… I suspect Ann has some cover story planned where she’s going to say she WAS pregnant but she lost the baby due to the stress Tiffany caused, or something similar.

Ann pregnant? He better have a test done to be sure it’s his.

I see Tom looking similar to Les. I wonder if the reveal is that Les is Tom’s son. Some college year nighttime drinking fling?

I fear that Ann may be the Harry Houdini of escaping social problems.

This is something Ann did that is unpardonable. This should be grounds for calling off the wedding.
