Hey, why are YOU touching a child that’s not yours like that?

People today would be crazy to grab a kid like this and drag the kid. It’s do-not-touch-my-kid world today. Most parents would just grab their kid away from the offending kid and take it from the play site for a bit or until the offender leaves.

How do we know what really went on? My own kid used to fall and then look around to see if I was watching before the tears would flow.

Once again Greg and his wet blanket magically appear to destroy any potential happiness for his characters.

At least Shannon looks sad, and not defiant as I suspected she would.

I’m just wondering if we really have to go through an actual month with Shannon. Will the outcome be Brad & Toni agreeing to never have children?

Why don’t you find out what the little brat did before putting the lady down, any other day everyone would agree that she is a little brat.

I’m sure Brad and Toni won’t react like the parents of the older kid who bit my 4yo grandson at the waterpark last weekend – and I see people doing here! Their first reaction was: " DON’T TOUCH MY KID, Get your Hands OFF him!! You have no right to even look at MY KID!" When shown the full-jaw bite mark that broke the skin, they just continued – and said their kid wasn’t a biter. Get better people. Shannon is a brat, written as a brat, and probably did something completely bratty – needing guidance. The grandma in the photo COULD be in the right.

What did Shannon do?

Oh no, what happened? Shannon had a fight with the little girl, was it an accident or is the crying child overreacting? Anyway, it will be another valuable lesson for Toni and Brad. I’m afraid the discussion will be very difficult. That person looks very angry and unreasonable.

Whatever she says, Shannon did it. The girl’s a nightmare.

So what’s so outstandingly different with this situation? Shannon is a sweet, curious, somewhat bratty of a kid, with a father she loves, no mom, and needs to,as so many of us, get loving, patient guidance as she grows up. Thus will be a chance for the strip to show how our future (I am pretty sure this a tease for Brad and Toni to get pregnant) parents handle this not out of the ordinary situation in child rearing

Welp! It didn’t take long for Shannon to relapse back into a intolerable brat!

Now we’ll see if Shannon actually gets disciplined, if in fact she actually did something wrong.

I wish everyone would get off the kick of using a widely used first name as an insult. It’s childish and stupid and we should all immediately take exception when we hear it used. Maybe it will go away.

You know what? I’d take the word of the so called “Playground Karen” over that willfully, petulant & spoiled little monster, know as Shannon, every time!

Let’s wait and see what actually happened. But it is interesting that not too long ago it was Shannon who was crying….. now playground bully?? not to jump to conclusions but is this something like the oppressed becoming the oppressor??? It strikes me that Shannon doesn’t spend much time (outside of school) with other kids and so may not know how to play “nice”.

Step one: get your hand off her.

It never fails..

Brad and Toni are both in the fire dept, they better walk on eggshells. If Shannon caused the problem and the way they handle the situation can cause them problems even if they are off duty.

There’s still more to be taught. There’s still more to learn (on both sides)

Not good that Toni and Brad lost sight of Shannon. She did something to annoy/bother another child. You have to keep an eye on your kids in public.

Cue reality.

Okay, what happened? She doesn’t strike me as the type to beat up another kid.

As an aside, I really hate using “Karen” as an insult. For one thing, it must be awful if your name is actually Karen. For another, it often seems to be used to mean “Middle-aged woman who has the nerve to stand up for herself and speak her mind.”

Name calling aside, looks like Brad and Toni are going to get yet another lesson in good parenting. These type events occur on the playground all the time. Most times, they are blown out of proportion. First, find out why this lady is upset. If she has a real beef, Shannon needs to be made to see what she did wrong and apologize. Then, she needs to be shown how to play properly. (it may be she simply swiped a toy out of the little girl’s hand) The injured parties may be happy with an apology and a promise from Shannon to share on the playground. Then, Brad and Toni have to pay attention and make sure she behaves better. This is not necessarily a case of “violence” on Shannon’s part and it would be wrong for Brad and Toni to escalate it if it is a simple matter.

Hopefully this little tease results in something dramatic happening. Too many times we’ve had interesting setups that failed to pay off (like when Bets was finally going to call out Stef for her behavior, only to give up on it mid-conversation.)

I was wondering why they weren’t supervising her.. learning curve!

Don’t jump to conclusions! Shannon might be innocent this time. We don’t know what the crying kid did to Shannon!

I blame everybody else. Shannon just too sweet a child to POSSIBLY have done anything wrong. I suspect she was defending yourself from the big mean woman.

How do we know Shannon is the instigator?

Ok, let’s shock everyone by listening to all three sides of the incident before we make judgments or call names.

That “Karen” looks a little old to be a mom. Maybe a grandmama. Somehow I hope they make friends out of this…. why not? Maybe grams has some useful insights.

Brad and Toni still have a learning curve ahead of them. When I take my grands to a park or playground, I keep an eye on them.

I am happy that I, too, called the ‘brat’, a brat.And, one would think that a concerned daddy, would be a communicative ‘daddy’.Life on the “Streets of Los Angeles” must agree with him.And, WHEN WILL the name of the comic be changed from Luann, to “Brad and the Brat”? (Since the WHOLE comic has evolved into the ‘life’ of Brad, his wife, AND the brat).

Now, if you’re done calling a child names, what seems to be the problem?

Well, first of all, lady, do not grab a stranger’s child by the arm. I have zero tolerance for brats, but that seems harsh.

OMG That reminds me of when I was a kid. My neighbor (a girl). I must have hurt her feelings or something. All I remember was, her mother came down the cul-de-sac. Grabbed me by the wrist and pretty much dragged me to my house to complain about me. My Mom WAS MAD because my wrist was white, all the blood had drained out of my hand.

The woman has properly classified Shannon.

I hope they don’t defend the bad seed. “Nope,…not ours.”

Did you punch Sarah Jr? Yes. Why? Because…. She had it coming!

Now comes the REALITY of parenting.

Her: “Hey! Is this brat yours?!” Brad & Toni: Nope! We’re just babysitting. She’s not our kid! No way! Uh-uh! Here’s her dad’s cell!

Ma’am, unless you’re pulling that child from the path of a moving car, get your hands off of her.

I’d whip out my phone, take a picture of this stranger gripping my kid and then, knowing me, grip HER arm just as hard. And knowing my son, this lady would be in all sorts of hurt.

Maybe next time it will be the little rat face who comes back with a bloody nose

So they just let Shannon go play without keeping an eye on her? No, they’re NOT “doing ok.”
