Coming Soon 👀 At the beginning of April, you’ll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
I’m grateful that it wasn’t another Sunday ’toon about Shannon creating a mess of some kind that Brad and Toni will pretend is not happening, and posters will foam at the mouth…
I guess they used it because it fits the gag, but “Hello Little Girl” is pretty obscure. It’s a Lennon-McCartney song that the Beatles never cut. Gerry and the Pacemakers covered it.
Greg, and, company must have had a Beatles groove going on when they wrote today’s strip. (or, spent to much time listening to SirriusXM’s Beatles channel.)
Fun poll: When and where were you when you first became aware of the Beatles? Me: summer 1964. “She Loves You” was blaring on the PA at a park I frequented.
Words are flowing out like endless rain into a paper cupThey slither while they pass they slip away across the universe down the long and winding road that leads to your door.
> “What sort of day was it? A day like all days, filled with those events that alter and illuminate our times… all things are as they were then, and you were there.”
Frank Zappa would have been better. “Could not tell where she was coming from but I just met a lady called Dynamo Hum. She strolled on over and said ‘look here, bum, I got a $40 bill saying you can’t make me……, just can’t do it.’”
Hey we need this break friends, it’s been a bit fraught in Luannverse and the comments, me being a contributor, have been off the hook too; lets dig this fellow old farts.
Couldn’t find my comment, maybe mis-posted, so trying again:Hey Luann, don’t make it bad. Take a sad song and make it better (to the tune of Hey Jude).
During the ’60’s, I was really worried about what was going on in the world (Vietnam, environmental issues, etc) and wondered about the future. I never thought I would look back on those days as being less worrisome than today is…
I actually can’t believe there are this many comments. I guessed maybe 100-200. It would have been Frank and Nancy’s parents who listened to the Beatles, and by association, they heard it. This was no Pearls Before Swine pun cleverness, though.
Naysayers, please be warned – As far as I’m aware, Maxwell still has his silver hammer! :-D (One of my favorites, though I’m not sure why – kind of a weird song!)
