Odd, I never had problems with pineapple on pizza. Not my #1 style, but I found it “acceptable”.

Um, usually pineapple comes along with ham. And Pigita is ham. This cannibal theme comes along in Pearls Before Swine what, every three years?

While in the service we had sliced hotdogs on pizza once. Didn’t see anyone take some.

A nice Pizza Hawaii needs to have the pineapple on top so the fruit is grilled, not cooked. And most often the ham used is the cheap crap that has barely no taste except „salty“. If done right, really like it. If done bad it is close to inedible.

I think Pig is wrong here. Pineapple and good ham are a nice topping. But Pigita doesn’t seem „good“.

I loved it (before Diabetes, now I make my own version with homemade cauliflower crust).

The only thing worse than pineapple on pizza are people who care what other people put on their pizza.

And anchovies.

I much prefer meaty deep dish. My wife prefers a thin crust with black olives and mushrooms. I yield for the sake of our 45 year investment.

A counterpoint: There’s a place in my area that offers cream cheese as an alternate sauce in place of the marinara. Pineapple is great on these pizzas. The problem isn’t pineapple on a pizza, but pineapple with marinara.

How about Pizza in a pineapple? But seriously, considering how far most american pizzas are from real original pizzas, there is no reason to point out pineapple. It is no more an heresy than thick crust or cheese in the crust, and all of these hybrid pizzas can be tasty.

I cannot understand how anyone can turn down a good Hawaiian pizza. Pizza……good. Ham……good. Onion……good (when mixed with other things). Pineapple……GOOOOOOD!

My wife likes all that “other stuff” on her pizza; I’m strictly a meat person. We keep the two types strictly separate in the freezer. Make one half of hers and one half of mine. I never ate any pizza until well into my adult life. Don’t think it was even available in my town when I was growing up.

It’s about time that Pig finally broke up with Pigita, because from what we’ve seen of Pigita, she had a tendency to violently beat up Pig whenever he made an unintentionally insensitive comment to her.

I can Pig Out A lot on most any Pizza. Prefer thin crust as I avoid over indulgence of carbs. Pineapple and Ham is good. No anchovies or tuna. You can tune a piano but you can’t tuna pizza.

As an Italian, I applaud you, Pig.

Pepperoni and pineapple pizza…my favorite kind!

Since I haven’t had pineapple on pizza and don’t plan to, I can’t speak to the taste. But a friend of mine loved anchovies. So we’d go halvsies. Until one of her anchovies touched one of my slices and ruined the whole slice. True horror story. Fish flavored salt. That’s what anchovies taste like to me.

Pineapple and ham are the best toppings ever. You may disagree but that’s what I think.

If I am buying a pizza for myself, it is always Hawaiian. But it the pizza is on somebody else’s dime, I’ll eat whatever they are having.

Some of the best pizza I’ve ever had was a thick crust with pineapple and real AMERICAN bacon, not that posers called “Canadian bacon” which is just sandwich meat.

Given what we’ve seen of Pigita in the past, you’d think Pig would have to be called the winner here. But if the choice is between having Pig as a boyfriend and having pineapple on pizza, she obviously made the winning choice.

The outage a couple of days ago seems to have been more serious than thought: Since December 5, all strips here (and eg Frazz) are from 2016?!

I usually only disagree with Goat when he’s talking to Rat, but I’m taking Pigita’s side on this one: pineapple on pizza can be a fun change. And I’ve had Margherita at Brandi in Napoli, so it’s not like I don’t know pizza.

My wife loves Hawaiian pizza. I love anchovies on my pizza (with pepperoni, bacon, and green peppers). We get a half-and-half (sometimes Chicago-style; sometimes NY-), and it works for us. (The trick with the anchovies is to put them on the pizza after it comes out of the oven, so it doesn’t get all flaky and permeate the pie.)

I don’t understand what the big issue is with pineapple on pizza! I’ve been hearing this for years now, and definitely don’t “get it”. I think pineapple is a fine pizza topping, and probably get a “Hawaiian pizza” about twice a year. Perhaps it can be a bit bland compared to my favorites of sausage or mushrooms or Canadian bacon, but there certainly is nothing wrong with it! I love pineapple, whether it’s fresh, canned, or baked/grilled!

Nothing better than Buffalo, NY pizza and of course our world famous wings….now there is a meal….

I love a pizza with EVERYTHING. I called in once and the guy asked, “Jalapeños?” I said, “Sure!” When I opened the box, it was GREEN! I peeled off half the peppers and made nachos. My Great-Grandmother was not a fan of any pizza. “Why would I want to eat something that looked like someone had been sick?” Cause it’s delicious! Beau Jo’s in Denver some of the best I ever had.
