So is their mother Brenda K. Starr? I Still Believe LOL

Seriously though, It’s nice to get some new info on Piro.. I mean Walt.

He doesn’t really look like a Walt, does he? I wonder how closely related they are. It’s still kinda odd to shave a star on your head, even if your last name is Starr.

Ohhh. Same father, different mothers? Long lost cousin? SO Piro is actually Walt Starr and the shaved star is in reference to his surname. So that mystery is solved. But what’s up with the name Piro? Yeah, Walt is a rather old fashioned name and he probably was named after an elder member in the family, however, Piro is such an unusual name for a nickname so I AM curious…

Interesting. Much more interesting than watching dorm mates snipe at each other. Much, much more interesting.

Curious how they both knew they were talking about names spelled with two “R’s”? How does that sound different?

Amnesia runs strong. They were once married and now do not recognize each other. Hence, them both having the last name, “Starr”.

Related?

Curiouser, and curiouser. Both have the same last name. Both come from backgrounds where the family ties, particularly as to parents are mysterious. Only characters with a relatively normal and consistently “there” parent set, Is Luann and Brad. Leave it to direct current, Ginger-head Tara, to get alternating current, star-headed Piro, to reveal something about himself.

This is really a surprise! I don’t know if Tara and Walt will find out that they are related, but he looks a lot like a runaway and we already know that Tara’s cousin is a violent and unscrupulous delinquent. Maybe Piro/Walt had to run away from his family so many years ago that Tara doesn’t remember him. I would have liked Luann to be there, but maybe it’s a family revelation situation. Where it’s best for Tara and Walt to be alone.

Walt Starr looks older than Tara? Is Walt from Utah?

Ok, I’m having trouble remembering… but in the movie “The Parent Trap” these 2 twin girls were separated when their parents divorced and one moved to the east and the other to the west. They met as young teenagers at a summer camp and found out they were twins because they had the same last name I think, also of course that they looked alike. Piro and Tara don’t look alike but they are probably related. It’ll be interesting to see how.

I think it’s more likely that Walt is a cousin. Maybe he’s the younger brother of the cousin Tara was hiding from when Luann hid her in the Fuze a few years back. No matter how he’s related to Tara, this is going to be an interesting story line.

They take an interesting, mysterious, handsome young man character, take away his edgy clothes, give him an ill-fitting blue shirt and change his name from Piro to WALT??? Why not Walter? To scared to go all the way I guess.

I assume that Piro’s legal name is no longer Walt Starr – or else Bernice would likely know that from her time as an RA at Moony Uni, and wonder about the connection. Let’s see, I believe Tara was introduced after Piro…

And once again our eponymous Luann has disappeared from her own strip and is no longer the focus of reader interest.

Maybe he is a pyromaniac and when he was in 5th grade he burned down his family house and spent the next 6 years in a state psychiatric hospital and adopted the name Piro when he was released. And that is why Tara’s family never mentioned her cousin.

Oooh, the plot thickens. Though it’s still irritating that Piro dodged the question about the star on his head. If something’s personal you generally keep it personal, rather than announce it to the world. He’s like those people who go on social media to blast everyone about how they’re in a bad mood but nobody had better ask them for details because it’s private (notwithstanding the fact that if it were so private then why did they bring it up on social media to begin with?)

First cousins can marry each other in California, and 18 other states. It would not be icky if they did not grow up together. I don’t think that is where this is headed, but it is legal.

Hmmm…Tara and Walt’s noses look similar in profile….hmmm…

You’ll be able to tell that they’re related when it turns out that Piro/Walt has actually dyed his hair, which is naturally the same — what is it? puce? color as Tara’s.

HOLY CRAP…. Piro.. is Tara’s brother?! That.. is a great twist. And looking at them they do have similar eyes and eyebrows, Piro’s are just thicker, so there was a subtle visual clue this whole time. It also explains why he moved from school to school possibly as he may of been looking for his sister/daughter/whatever.

So they may have the same father, or the mother married the father, or the mother never married and they both have her last name…

Their great grandfather was the quarterback for the Packers back in the day…

I haven’t looked at today’s comic, but if his name isn’t really Piro, there is a good chance Walt Starr isn’t either. Just a guess.
