So last week, we got Toni’s stepford child. Now this week, we get Brad’s cheaper by the dozen.

Enough already. If he wants to take a break, just give us reprints. This is just straight-up garbage.

I don’t know who is drawing these, I’m guessing the Amazon delivery guy? Maybe the Parking Lot Attendent?

I won’t be able to follow Brad’s adventures in the future anymore, now that I know how he thinks. I thought he loved Toni as a person, but I guess he just wanted a baby making machine. She could be any ‘body’…

And neither of them seems to understand the universal truth that the second child is going to be the polar opposite of the first. (I offer Zoe and Hammie of Baby Blues as an example.)

This is only temporary while Greg and Karen are away. Using a guest cartoonist and getting slightly away from the regular storylines is amusing, but it can only last so long. Soon it will be, “…and now, back to our regular program.”

This is getting ridiculous! Spin Jay off to his own strip if you must, and bring back G&K!!

Keep up the good work. A guest cartoonist in a 39 year old comic strip is a welcome diversion.

If I’m correct, the time frame of this arc has only been about one day. So, if Jonah is still around, Brad and Toni can just say “NO!”, and throw the brat and her packed baggage out of their house! And then they (and TJ) can relax over a nice glass of wine.

Parents in this comment section just started sweating.

Clearly, G&K do not respect their readers. There’s not one thing funny in this hackneyed one-note joke.

So, where’s TJ in this drama? Did he make a run for it??

A math teacher once told the class about the math in his family. Everything was pretty normal when he and his wife had their first kid. Some time later, they had another child, and the number of children in the family increased by 100%. Some time after that, his wife had twins, and the number of children in the family again increased by 100%. They decided not to try for any more children.

Brad, why do you want to put poor Toni through this??

That “creative choices” quote sounds like the current generation of parents. It drives me batty.

So this week, we learn that both of them went down the fire pole head-first.

I’ve always said, the best form of birth control is being around other people’s kids. As time goes on, Toni gets ever more-resistant to having even one kid, while Brad continues to turn up the pressure to create his own personal chorus line. The more she resists, the harder he pushes. Something’s gotta give… and I don’t think that she is going to acquiesce to simply spreading her legs whenever Brad wants her to…

Before two people get married, the whole “kid question“ needs to be completely, totally, and 100% agreed-upon by both parties before they move forward. There can’t be any wishy-washy waffling on it. Clearly, this was not the case here. Now, Brad did express his desire to have kids … Not just one, but a few, if not several. Toni did the “maybe, someday, I think I might, possibly, I’ll be ready, but I don’t know”… which now, Brad wants kids and Toni does not. No good can come from this.

Brad’s vision of parenthood is all about the fun times. Toni’s vision of parenthood is all about the messes, expense, stress and exhaustion. Frankly speaking, Toni’s vision is far more accurate.

I’ll say this for Fosgitt, he’s talented and has a wide range of styles. His plot/arc lines need a lot of work. I wonder if G&K are trying to kill the Luann comics.

4 kids 2 on the way. Is Toni still working? If so that is quite a bit of Money for day care. If not I don’t think one Fireman’s salary is going to cover food clothing and housing. Somethings to think of.

That took a hard turn, and now it’s a nightmare.

How long is the new artist going to be doing this? I can’t stand it.

This version of Shannon is Toni’s nightmare, considering that it seems like they have Shannon full-time, and, now Toni is PG with twins.Outside of the nightmare, if the “junior” DeGroots were to have Shannon permanently full-time, I’d bet Shannon’s behavior “needle” would move more toward the super behaved, super smart Shannon, than the Shannon in Toni’s nightmare. especially if Toni were to become PG.

People do not seem to understand ‘over-the-top’ humor at all.

When will we get back to the real Luann? Enough, already!

Really, what’s the point of all this (beyond Greg Evans getting summer vacation, which I begrudge him)? It isn’t funny. I get that you’re not going to move any of the plotlines along right now, but could there at least be gags? And yes, I know that these were written and drawn weeks ago, I’m just complaining. Cf. today’s Frazz.

Wow…that’s quite a change from yesterday to today. Those two get results quickly! Tomorrow they’ll have eight kids, and their parents will have moved in with them as well. ;)

I have some serious doubts about Greg and Karen’s motives for letting this idiot take over their comic strip for two weeks. I find it hard to believe that anyone with Greg’s sense of style would find this type of drawing appealing. It’s messy, tasteless, stupid and ugly, and it gets worse with each passing day. Maybe Karen got a new boyfriend that needed a boost to his career?

I’m really bored with this arc. I was hoping we’d get a new one this week.

By the time this arc is over, Toni will never, ever, EVER want to have any kids.

Best Luann arc EVER. It’s making the characters look like the complete idiots they are.

Time for Brad to get a vasectomy and put an end to this lame take on Luann. If G&K wanted to have a vacation they should have prepared strips in advance to cover the time and not stuck us with this.

Brad loves kids and Toni loves order, now the two need to communicate and work something out because they are so good together. I really like this artist. I hope to see more of his work, in another strip.

Looking at those kids’ apparent ages, Toni doesn’t even get time for her body to recover before Brad knocks her up again. It’s no wonder she rebuffs his advances these days.

This might be more annoying than last week.

Wake me when this misbegotten experiment is over.

Think I’ll pass on this comic for a few days. Finding this particular arc quite odd.

This has become Inane

This is an enjoyable change for 2 weeks. I like Brad’s fantasy better than Toni’s.

Not a fan of experiments. Apparently he is a talented cartoonist who has been a guest for other strips.From the point that the last two weeks have been fantasy of alternate time lines, it sort of works as a separation from reality. Apparently some believe art is supposed to generate conversation and controversy. That view is not held by all.

I love this happy mess! Both Brad and Toni have such dreamy expectations for their future children, as they should. Shannon remains their reality and I think that, when they have children, Shannon will become like an elder sister, very responsible and protective.

Not sure what’s going on with the guest artist, but if this was the regular style, I’d not be reading it.

Over decades, the Luann strip has been one of the best there ever was – insightful, funny, relevant.

In recent years, it’s had a tendency towards ripping off the concept made popular by “Three’s Company,” to wit, no one ever shares information with others; therefore, there are constant misunderstandings. Hilarity ensues a little less often than it used to. I have gotten snarkier and snarkier about this.

This arc is so awful it jumps the snark. I am speechless.

OMG. I can’t believe we need to struggle through another week of this. I don’t begrudge anyone a break, but can’t we just get some reruns?

interesting… Toni and Brad each have a totally different dream family in their minds. Toni wants one perfect (well behaved) child; Brad wants several and is happy to roll with the punches, the circus scene. If they ever do have kids of their own will they even agree on how to raise them?

Wait, there are 4 kids here (not counting the expected twins) where there were only 3 yesterday. Fantasy Brad and Toni work fast! I question Fantasy Toni’s happy look yesterday and today, but this after all is Brad’s fantasy, not Toni’s.

I don’t understand why Brad is so interested in having a bunch of kids. He did have to grow up with a sibling and it seems they had an often difficult time with each other, so I would think he’d want fewer kids. I know I sure as heck wish I had been an only child!

Well, it’s official, we’ve entered the summer doldrums. Wake me in September! ;-)

He’s successfully bulldozed his wife— how many people will need to sacrifice for his wants and will he let them volunteer or simply inform the fact? And here I thought Luann’s oafish big brother had grown up.

Havent commented in awhile being sick, more on than off, but I must say right now I wait because I at a bit of a loss. I think I might have some idea, but not ready to shore.

This is really awful. Portraying Toni as a baby-making machine is disturbing since we know how ambivalent/tentative she is about having just one child. G&K, next time you go on vacay don’t subject your readers to this mess.

How about something a lot more interesting… Such as b-WAD really pushing Toni HARD to have kids… and she has a nervous breakdown and leaves him?
