So who is telling the truth??

I’m inclined to think that Piro has some connection to the navy. Since Alan offered it up, Luann could ask for more details (Is he a Corpsman etc?).

Alan didn’t say that Piro IS in the navy now. That could be in the past, but The Airhead was so intent on gossip she didn’t bother to get details.

So Bernice believes the child younger than Alan? I think Bernice is like some of you readers in here…that Alan is slow, challenged…not to be believed. I bet the sister is pulling her leg about Piro having 12 toes. She probably could tell Bernice is crushing on Piro and is fishing for information about him and she hopes to turn her off with the 2 extra digits and unpopular musical instrument? Wrong, sister. It only makes him as weird as she is hence interesting to her.

All of the kids that were sitting with Bernice are younger than Alan, yet Bernice is mocking Luann for “believing a child.”

Interesting…today the post was late…past 11 and only a few readers posted comments. I guess most of the readers had gone to bed.

Is he in the navy or was in the Navy? It would explain why he disappears from time to time but not why he was couch surfing earlier on. And is he on some compassionate leave now to care for his mom, or is this all a pack of lies, like his sister saying he plays the tuba?

Piro’s in the Navy?? …. Not with a haircut like that he’s not. And most likely he’s enlisted, not an officer. And at this point, he’s probably AWOL. It’s possible that he could be a civilian working for the Navy though.

Alan, they’d believe you LESS if you were a teen!

Bernice believe that Piro plays the tuba. Maybe Piro is a musician in the navy?

Bernice, stop being such a jerk. It’s okay for you to believe without question anything a small child tells you about Piro, but it’s not okay for Luann your supposed “best friend” to believe something that a tween told her. You know darn well that if Allen had told you that instead of Luann, you would be all over that like milk on cereal. But because Allen told Luann and not you, you just automatically dismiss it out of hand. Some “friend”. Why Luann puts up with you, I have no idea, but she needs to kick your pompous bee-hind to the curb, and dump you. All you ever do is put her down and mock her. True friends don’t do that. They support each other. You know, like how Luann is supporting you, by letting you live with her, rent free? Yeah, I doubt that you would do the same for her.

This is a massive breach of trust. Using the siblings to dig up info. This could wreck everything with Pirouette.

I think it’s funny that she finds it most unbelievable that he plays the tuba, not that he he has 12 toes or speaks Hindi.

Are Greg & Karen set on making Bernice utterly unlikable?

Careful LuAnn or your intel source is going to dry up. It’s not a contest as to who knows the most about Piro as he is who he is and will do what he wants. If it includes one of you or not, it’s his choice. And neither of you are going to be able to change him; he needs to do that himself. If Bernice paid attention to what she’s learned, she’d know that.

Typical Bernice. What she hears is true, while what Luann hears can only be false. I think the kids had fun telling her random things, probably not true. Bernice continues to show how full of herself she is and how she is not capable of understand others. Alan seems hurt by her lack of confidence and Luann, finally, starts to get angry.

And why is being in/having been in the Navy such a big deal?

I would believe more of what Alan says, than one of Piro’s younger sisters.

If Piro was in the Navy, he should be using his benefits to pay for college. Or is it different now?

Clearly, Piro was in the Navy. He joined and then either quit or was discharged.

And it seems Alan isn’t autistic as I thought. OK!

Wait, so they’re framing this as Piro currently being in the navy, rather than him being a navy veteran? Okay, I gave G&K a pass yesterday for the corpsman/medic thing, but this is too much. Either Luann or the people writing her are being full-blown idiots today if they think Piro is an active-duty servicemember. Besides that dumb haircut that is completely out of regulation, he has way too much free time in the middle of the day to be currently serving. You think a servicemember has time to attend community college on weekdays?

Okay I’ll play. We all need to forget when Piro’s head scar was explained as a playground accident when they were all children TOGETHER. Now he’s going to be an older man, possibly in the navy, who plays the tuba and speaks hindi. I like it! I really need to remind myself not to expect consistency in these characters.

Hopefully the speed at which Luann blew off Alan to go gossip with Bernice puts an end to the whole “Luann is so great with kids” thing.

Ah, that age when you want to add some age to your age… that was long, long ago for me.

Why is this so shocking? Because they’ve seen Piro as a homeless reject? If nothing else, a lot of homeless in California are former military.

Bernice, that little girl is more of a child than Alan, yet you believe everything SHE told you.

I think if Piro really has 12 toes he wouldn’t pass the military physical.

Both girls seem to have missed Piro disinterest in having any kind of girlfriend. They are so 13 with a boy crush on the antisocial loner.

OMG!! Here is another thought!! Maybe he isn’t in the Navy (most likely by his haircut) but he has told his family that he is, so that he can take long absences from them!!1

What I really want to know about Piro is how he manages to keep a perfectly shaped star shaved onto the side of his head.

A little boy I taught in Sunday School showed me a little “tattoo” of Spiderman on his forearm. When I commented that it was different than his mother’s tattoos he proceeded to list all his mother’s tattoos & the locations on her body, most of which are normally under clothing.

When she came to get him after church I smiled & thought I know a secret!

Ah, all the doubters here. Piro must be a “bum” not qualified for anything. He’s mysterious, all the more reason having a life and/or career is more interesting to learn more about, IF one follows the story as opposed to disliking or stereotyping a character based on only that visceral reaction. And the kids, being kids, are likely honest brokers of what he says about himself, or what they have personally seen. But just hating on someone this gets in the way of insights of what is realy happening.

It is rude of Bernice to doubt Alan like that… especially when he is sitting RIGHT THERE. Bernice, you attempt to heal others, you have considerable work to do on your own interpersonal skills.

Why would Bernice ever believe Piro is a 12 toed, tuba playing Hindi speaker? Yet, his being in the Navy is not credible. Bern is a loon.
