Bad news travels at the speed of light.

These kids today. I remember going to parties when you spent your time dancing and not doing social media on your phone. Frankly, I think those parties from the olden days were a little more fun.

It occurs to me that, to the chagrin of the Bets-haters, once Gunther’s friends get done debunking the nasty gossip, the Bets-Gun reunion just might get an even bigger outpouring of fan support than Bets was originally imagining.

So where does this leave Bets? Is she going to come in anyway or drive off into the sunset and never bother Gunther again.

Looks like everybody is in on the reveal. Tiff’s doing damage control but as Les says “Too late!”

Gunther and Luann look like they think the proverbial has hit the fan!

I feel discombobulated.

Is Luann upset because the pic looks like they are a couple (and they aren’t), or because of the posts?

Just to change the subject, I like Luann with big 80s hair. It suits her.

So is this the time when Stef sneaks out of the party before everyone notices she has vanished or will she oblivious to what she has initiated? Of course if she sneaks out, there is the possibility of running into Bets if Bets is still outside in Ruby.

I’m confused. Why does Bets not want Gunther to look at the pic? What is she thinking when she sent the message? Wonder if she doesn’t want him to see the messages posted by her fans? That they reveal the real Bets and that he’d realize the truth and agree with them? Yep, Les. Too late.

Judging by Bets comment to Gunther, she knows Gunther is not cheating and is trying to keep him from flipping out. However, telling someone not to look at something is almost like telling them to take a peek! I guess it did not matter as Luann showed Gun the pic and if she did not Les would have enlightened the G-Man or someone else would have. One observation: Gun’s friends have his back; Tiff, Dez, Luann and even Les most certainly are concerned for Gunnie. Now where is Stef?

WHAT IS ON THE PHONE? Gah…One. More. Day.

Aw man. More reacting to to this rather than actually doing anything in reaction to it. Funny how this is all happening at the party where Stef is. What’s she doing while everybody else is distressed? Playing dumb or cackling diabolically?

I do have to say I really like how Luann looks so comically surprised in panel 2. She looks kinda crazy and her eyebrows are missing. Also… what over the top reactions to a photo of two people standing next to each other. Imagine if she was holding his hand, they’d all die of scandal!

Wait…could Bets be…uh, you know…

Great. Bets is making out with Thanos in a Nebula costume.

What would Bets who craves social media attention as a influencer do back in the 1970’s were there were no Cell Phones.

As I said yesterday, I hope that Bets will have faith in Gunther, get back to him to find out what is going on, and simply quit being a social media influencer due to her mean and disloyal “fans”.

…And then all of the girls should gang up on Stef to throw her upside-down in a trash bin.

So, Bets thinks Gunther won’t look when she tells him not to? She obviously told him so he would look. Panel three is two women trying to protect Gunther from the post, and Les making sure he sees it, revealing their personalities. What is Gunther’s reaction? Angry? Confused? he has a tight grip on Luann’s arm as he looks at it. Will he figure out that she is outside and go out looking for her? Or will she overcome her chagrin and come inside? I guess we’ll find out Saturday.

So… even though Bets isn’t sure what’s going on in that party – or whether Gun has moved on to another girl – her second reaction is to try to prevent Gunther from seeing the hurtful comments. Not so self – absorbed after all, eh?

Well, Gunther could decide to leave the party and walk outside to Bets. Surprise!

Today’s Strip reminds Me of a classic Saturday Nite Live skit, where Buckwheat got shot.

An interviewer asked one of the Little Rascals for an opinion.

Her response was: “Ooooo, I’m HURT, and Confused, and I don’t know what to say! NO COMMENT!!”

Don’t ask Me why this Strip reminded Me of that. Perhaps because it’s early and I haven’t had My COFFEE yet.

Or maybe I just miss the good old days when “folks” still had dial phones.

Either way, this story goes into next week, which “I” personally don’t have a “problem” with.

I remember the Buckwheat skit but the part I most remember was various people all saying “Alfalfa was a quiet sort, kept to himself…. always talked about shooting Buckwheat.”

Sounds like bets understands that the picture is not showing what Stephanie is trying to imply.

Stuff like this is exactly why I refuse to have anything to do with social media. I was bullied plenty in school without Facebook, Twitter, etc.!! Social media has ruined more lives than it’s worth; just look at the Trump administration.

Bets tries to prevent Gunther from seeing their page taken over by trolls. This shows how important he is to her. Unfortunately, it wasn’t possible. Les deleted Gunther’s account, so he goes to show him what’s going on and Luann wanted to see and now she seems really, REALLY sorry. I wonder if this is serious enough to put an end to Bets’ influencer career. Now I hope all the people in today’s strip go and ask Stef for an explanation. It’s about time she paid the consequences of her actions. Also, Bets has to go inside and say hi to Gunther.

She’s with someone else to get even, I suppose.

“Do NOT look at Bets-N-Gun” actually means “You might want to check out Bets-N-Gun”.

I know Dez only wants to keep the peace, but this is not nothing. Stef crossed the line here and the fallout is going to be painful.

Why is everyone so shocked? Luann knows Stef took a photo of them, and she did not have time to read the comments yet. All the guests know L and G are at the party together and the comments posted on the photo are typical of what you’d see anywhere on the internet. And if you tell someone to NOT look at something, the first thing they will do is look.

Couldn’t Bets just delete the photo and all the comments in one click? It is her blog, she has control over it. She must have dealt with this issue many times in her blogging career. People post mean stuff all the time.

Tiff, you should have had a phone turn in at the door.

This arc is racing along with the blazing speed of a herd of turtles.

Say what you will about Bets, she’s trying to protect Gunt, from the trolls and rotten people posting this garbage, you would say to their face.

What could happen Bets and Gun have a nice reunion, but Bets wont stream it live. Maybe record it, maybe not.

Or she will, with Gunt, Luann and her explaining the situation live.

Still trying to figure out who that is in the Raggity Ann costume :-(

Seems odd to me that Bets is using Social Media to tell Guns not to look at the Social Media.

Sitting by yourself in a van when you could just go inside and talk also seems strange …

This party is going to last until Thanksgiving.

At least we know now that Bet really knows that Gunther and Luann are not a couple!

Word travels fast online. It’s a very powerful and gossipy thing.

I believe, or at least HOPE that when all is revealed, that this will strengthen not weaken their relationship, and that Steffi is held accountable. Why Tiffany invited her to begin with makes no sense.

Hopefully Bet’s shows up anyways to confront Gunther and LuAnm; Gunther needs to put the relationship at 95-5 and sweep Bet’s off her feet and tell her how he feels; Bet’s can clock Steph and everyone else cheers. Give me an S – an O, a C, a K, an H, an E, an R - what’s that spell — SOCK HER.

Lots of speculation here. It’s either Bets’ “Big Reveal”, a spur of the moment modification of that “Big Reveal”, or she doesn’t want Gunther to see that photo and the comments.

So, where’s Kip? Is he coming late to the party?

I had no use for Bets, but this is cruel to her. Blindsided. No one deserves that, no matter how much of a controlling person they are.

The stereo in Ruby is blasting “By the Time I Get to Phoenix,” if Gunther’s face is any indication. Bets & Gun have just imploded, as Luann has thrown open an old door. Poignant hilarity to follow.

So Bets didn’t want Gunther to read the comments . . . does she know, then, that the readers have misinterpreted it, and she’s trying to spare him the discomfort?

Boring storyline. Roflmao. I’m so over it. Bets is a coward. Good riddance if she leaves without confronting GunLu and the gang. I never liked Stef or Bets since their first appearance on this strip.

So tomorrow, Sat., Bets will enter the door of the party crestfallen, betrayed, or angry. Monday she will be embraced by her true friends.

By end of week, she’ll finally see flesh and blood friends are more valuable than a million followers.

Luann is looking at Gunther’s phone in the second panel. So he is back to following her blog.

Very interesting the way all participants are confronted with the issue with Gun(ther, I have to do parenthesis again as he’s drawn so passive in matters of passion) and Bets. I’m a huge supporter of Bets and Gunther as a couple with a future, because I think she is the woman who would help him meet his prodigious potential, who really loves him. And he her. This relationship is on the chopping block in a 21st Century way, Bets being outside in her van, seeing the negative comments and Gun(ther) at the party (yes Big Friendly Giant, its been too many years since I read the last children’s book), while at the party all the reactions of the main characters (interestingly, Steph is not in the last few panels—start the trouble, then vanish—so tonight ought to be the confrontation, or not. Hopefully, they get back together, in person, and Bets fascination with social media,cools. Or not.

Still doing that weird “ohmygaw” thing, I see.

Jeez Gunther. Do you always do as you’re told? But why was Bets texting him instead of walking through the front door and showing him what was happening? That is really strange. She could be putting on her costume (maybe it’s a book). Maybe she’s calculating how many likes this whole scenario can generate, or maybe she is systematically destroying Steffanie on line? That would be good.

Luann appears to be alarmed by what she looks like in her costume, but so far, Les is proving to be the sharpest knife in the drawer, compared to these other characters. Les and Tiffany would be a great match but I’m afraid she’s a little bit too ditzy for him

I agree with Les on this one. When he’s right, he’s right.

I don’t see the big deal in any of this. Stef posted a picture of 2 people at a party, that she took with their knowledge. She posted the photo on her friend’s blog and added her speculation. This is how Stef always behaves so no one should be surprised by it. The comments by Bets followers are the same as you’d see on any blog or social media site. Bets and Gunther need to actually communicate with each other if they think they are still in a relationship.

Where is Stef?

As much as a pain Les is, he’s absolutely right here.

I always liked Bets. I hope she gets through this.

It’s so sweet how everyone is looking out for Gun and Lu, including Bets! ✍️(◔◡◔) No one could have guessed that. It just goes to show that Bets not only loves Gunther but she knows him really well.

Saying “Do not look at it” without giving reason is a sure way that someone will look at it.

Saturday – Gunther will send a text to Bets trying to explain….and she will text back that she is in the van- outside of Tif’s house. All is back to normal. Bets will return to college & quad.

My hope is that Bets realizes that fans are fickle and often nasty and that this incident makes her rethink putting her whole life on social media.

Here we see: Social media is or at least can be poison to teens… hard enough already without the endless possibitilities for shaming, misunderstanding, and more.

Another week is drawing to a close, with Bets still parked outside. That means we won’t find out what’s going on for at least one more week.

So true Les. Nothing moves faster than social media.

Will there be Gunther’s response to Bets “splaining” ad nauseum? Will everyone get into the fray? GI Les is correct again. Quicker than wildfire. Just as dangerous.

I always hated the Stef and Tiffany types from my high school and early college days. They just could not go through life without creating drama. It’s time for Stef to get slammed good and dumped ,Tiffany to also get some choice words in her face and for Gunther to grow a pair and assert himself .

I don’t think that Bets is the right girl for him. In fact I think he needs to take a break from the whole dating scene and get his own life together. Move out ,get away from Leslie and get away from his creepy annoying mother – get a machete and cut the apron strings.

Maybe Steph’s boyfriend will finally realize what a cruel streak she has and kick her to the curb. It would sure be good news for Tiff, who has shown a lot of personal growth.

Why take the high road when the low road is always available.

Stef is a spoiled, entitled brat.

Another view point/take away is that her followers are everything to her. Even more important than Gun in everyway. Who wants a life where popular opinion control all your outcomes with her?

I don’t know if it’s just me, but I feel this arc keeps getting stranger and stranger…

Nobody has eyebrows on their bangs. Is Greg going to leave them off when he draws Tiffany and Luann in the future?

I still love Leslie’s character development. He went from full-on bully antagonist nightmare to anti-hero wingman to Gunther trying his best to look out for his family-in-law. I think we can safely say this is the start of Gun and Bets’s break-up. I WANT to hope that Bets was actually heartbroken her fans showed no faith in her relationship with Gunther, but knowing she has crippling insecurity I think the reality is she DOES think Gunther cheated on her. I really hope I’m wrong.

When one invites the world to weigh in on their life, the response is immediately out of their control.

So, what kind of doll has fungus facial hair? Les, what ARE you?

All this drama could have been avoided if Gunther has told Bets he was going to the party with Luann. And if Bets had told Gunther she was returning home that day. Not much of a couple if they can’t simply talk to each other.

Rather curious what Bets’ reaction will be. I have a feeling it’ll involve jumping to conclusions in some way.
