Dorm Building B? Impossible! Any university worth its salt would have got a ginormous donation from a wealthy alum just to put their name on the building!
Good for Kip to stand up to this Ann Eifel in training but man it took a long time, I guess he is lucky she only hit him up for coin one time 2 years ago, I was expecting her to be always nipping at his wallet every time they went anywhere and she saw something she wanted in the restaurant (remember how Stef ordered off the top of the menu with Tiff when Tiff was trying to get her as a roomie) or shopping mall.
Here is the golden opportunity that comes rarely in life Kip, served on a silver platter. Life it far too short for high maintenance partners. Repaet after us: “You may have but I am done with your planning. I am moving on.”
I seem to remember a fuss not so long ago about a valuable misplaced ring that Kip had given to Stef. Was that representative of their planning to be together forever? I don’t recall anyone actually referring to it as an engagement ring. If there is any hope that Stef will be able to pay anyone back for a $600 loan, might this ring be pawned as collateral for such a loan? Is Kip short of funds, himself, because he may still be making payments for that ring? We’ve been shown that Stef is generally pretty clueless about anyone but herself, so she is unlikely to appreciate such a likelihood. In any case, it appears that Stef is about to learn one or more of life’s hard lessons, whether financial or relational or both.
Wow Stef, that’s the lamest excuse ever! Maybe this really is the time where her and Kip break up for good! But I wonder if Stef will also ask her friends for money and they will tell her to go to work or to sell her old things. Perhaps this could make her more humble and bearable, or make her even worse. It would be tragic if Tiffany finds her as a colleague waitress at The Fuse.
Eh, I’m still waiting to get my $20 back from a girl in my naval reserve unit. We got home after a week at the base in Newport, RI and she needed some money to pay off the airport parking. That was 40 years ago, when twenty bucks was worth more, and I had a crappy job that paid a whole lot less. You should always listen to that little voice that tells you not to give out loans unless you are willing to simply give that away.
Anyhow, $600 to enter some event!!?!?!?!?!?! Sounds like a scam to me.
Just dump her. Seems to have zero redeemable qualities with no real looks to try and make up for that. Very annoying character, but I suppose that’s the reason why
Spent 35 years in public education and managed to retire when I was ready, which was a minor miracle. Education in high profile, extremely large schools was really as tough a business as any Fortune 500 company. But one thing that was consistent during the 35 years was the drama, trials and tribulations with cheerleading. Administrators cringed yearly. Outside agencies had to be hired to judge tryouts. It was really something. As ludicrous as this arc may seem, it is not far fetched based on what I have seen.
Kip doesn’t have $600? What his money manager put him on an allowance? Presuming Kip IS having some sort of pro career, even playing in the USFL, he should have $600.
They’ve been dating for 2 years and Kip has given Stefi money before. He is not going to break up with her over this. Weren’t they in the middle of a break up when we first met them? Or they had just gotten back together. We know that Kip has tried to end the relationship at least once. So being together forever is all in Stefi’s head. Kip is obviously not saying that is what he wants, since he keeps trying to get out.
Uh Oh! This IS beginning to sound serious. Money is often the cause of many breakups so these two could be on the verge. I’m not a Kip fan at all but I still like him better than Stef—-whom I despise. She’s next to the bottom for me. Only one I dislike even more is Ann.
Every time I see her I think of a scene from the movie “Slap Shot” where Moe is watching a soap opera on a TV in a bar and he comments on a woman on the screen as being “no good.” I won’t quote the complete line, but if you’re curious I’m sure you can find it.
I hope he doesn’t change his mind. Now who will she try to con? Many think Tiffany, but even though she lives (d) in the mansion, I believe she’s still on a budget..and working. Bets seems to be the one with the money, but I can’t see her donating. Dez may suggest a bake sale and provide the brownies! ;-D
BTW, resorting to name-calling harpy mode isn’t endearing, darling. Boy should cut and RUN because the girl is revealing her true self and the inside IS NOT pretty.
Ding Ding! Right answer, Kip! “Sorry, I’m not giving you any money”. Note the word substitution of “give” vs. “loan”. Kip has seen the light and crossed over to the Good Side. He knows that any “loan” to her becomes a gift cuz she hasn’t paid back the previous loan.
Steffi: We planned on being together forever. I might as well tell you… I missed my last “cycle” so I went to the Dollar Tree and bought a “test”. It’s positive and you’re gonna be a DADDY, Kip-ums! So we’ll be together forever, all right! HUG ME!"
Where would Tiff get the money? Wasn’t it just a couple of years ago that she was selling-off her belongings to pay for her dorm room? Sure, her dad finances Tiffany’s education at Moony, but not all her “extras”. Why else would she be waiting tables at the Fuze? Unless she is making a couple of hundred $$ a night in tips, I doubt that she would have $600 lying around to loan to Stef.
and I’ll wager that she also has planned out her whole extravaganza future wedding with all the bling and a $50,000 price tag and not a care in the world as to who might pay for it … and will weep about “her dreams since she was six years old being crushed” … THIS is entitlement. Tiff at least went out and got a job when her pie in the sky hit the fan.
“Kippy” (gag, btw), it’s time to cut your losses and cut this leech loose. Consider yourself lucky to get off relatively cheaply. This would only have been the beginning.
Piro’s troubles were being an “enforcer” collecting loans from people. Tiff owed money and didn’t pay it back until a certain window was broken. Tie all of these idiotic threads together.
I hope this is the end of Kip and Stef as a couple and in this strip. Very one-dimensional. I don’t want to see Tiff with Kip – being with Steff doesn’t say much for him. Tiff should wake up and see Ox for the gem he is.
Stef is coming into contact with Reality, and it’s like matter and anti-matter. The two cannot exist in the same place at the same time. Tough patooties, Steffikins!
Lots of you wonder who Kip is going to land on after “the breakup”. It looks like all the dudes better look out for the newly freed Stef, because she’s expensive. Personally, I vote Les to be next to take a luxurious ride with Steffie. He’ll beg borrow, and steal from everyone to satisfy her “14 kt Mind”. Apologies to Gene Watson.
