Goldie blew it when she said “We should respect that”. It hints that she knows. And at least one mole has checked her movements and come to the correct conclusion.
Why do I have the line from Star Trekkin’ running through my head? “We come in peace, shoot to kill, shoot to kill, shoot to kill.We come in peace, shoot to kill, shoot to kill, men.” This mole doesn’t know the song (I hope), so he’s likely truthful.
Ironically the newscast clearly already lead the moles here. or Mag did, so goldie’s fears were well founded.. simply too late. Though bandana mole may be able to help them stop this mole madness.
Last night when I was watching three bunnies playing in my back yard I was thinking maybe the Raccoons needed to find some zombie rabbits to help them, though i assume the zombie effects have all worn off by now. Looks like they might need to actually fight the moles though, it looks like they might have a mole on the inside.
Note to everyone (so this isn’t buried in replies) — if you want to post a link, you now have to change all periods to (space)dot(space).
That means that we have to go through a few more steps, instead of highlight, right-click, and “open link in new tab”, you highlight, copy, manually open new tab (or window), paste, and edit (space)dot(space) back into a period.
And it occurs to me that there’s a possibility that other moles might find the tunnel this mole made, and show up in Baba’s place. And those moles might be distinctly NOT “digging in peace”!
Am I the only one who got Hobbit vibes from this particular mole? Remember when Bilbo showed up in the “enemy” camp to offer the Arkenstone to Bard? That’s who this mole reminds me of.

I suspect that after the moles, including that one, chatted with the cats, some discussions took place along the lines of, “Why are we doing this?”

Friends of Distinction: Grazing in the Grass
Do not be afraid: I dig in peace (digging through the grass very fast, oh friends can you dig it?)
Taking time away from the battle of the fields (digging through the grass very fast, oh friends can you dig it?)
There are too many crazy things going on in the fields right now (digging through the grass very fast, oh friends can you dig it?)
Moles out there taking everything in sight (digging through the grass very fast, oh friends can you dig it?)
The raccoons hiding in the woods (digging through the grass very fast, oh friends can you dig it?)
All of this going on bodes nothing good (digging through the grass very fast, oh friends can you dig it?)
What we are doing is unclear, I can see it
Montague’s plan is unreal, I can feel it
And it’s time to get real, get real get real!

I’ve been thinking, you’ve been thinking, we’ve been thinking, they’ve been thinking
I don’t dig this, neither do you!

Meanwhile, Back on the Nile
At the Royal Palace
Queen Catshepsut the Golden: So you would like to go to afar to see the renowned librarian Beaver Lee Cleary.
Beatrixia: That is so, Your Majesty. We have uncovered scrolls from many renowned authors that I believe would capture her interest.
Floofnet the Joyous: And I would like to stop on the way to deliver supplies to my culinary school.
The Queen: Let it be so. And I believe it is time to pay a visit to my fellow Queen, Mags.
Floof: Hopefully we will find the spice merchants along the way.
Bea: Just be careful if you want to buy more than one.
The Queen: Very well. Elvis-Anum, you will write a letter to Queen Mags announcing our wish to visit. See to it that Kat-Mandu receives it today.
Elvis: I’ll get started right away.
Bea: You do know Kat-Mandu is the Papyrus Cat.

She feels good, she’s back with her brood, now
So good, so good, a fine mood
Whoa!
Baba’s nice, like sugar and spice
Baba’s nice, like sugar and spice
So nice, so nice, and some ’tude
When a mole pops in the barn
We hope she won’t do them no wrong
And when she pops up in the barn
We hope Baba won’t do her no harm
She seems nice, like cute Robber mice
She seems nice, Baba’s stare’s like ice
So nice, so nice, and peaceful, too
When she visits at the farm
We hope her story don’t take long
And when she visits at the farm
We hope Baba won’t do her no harm
This feels nice, like good mole advice
This feels nice, explained in a trice
So nice, so nice, peace is overdue
Whoa!
And it feels good, as good as it could, now
It feels good, as good as it would
So good, so good, is war through?
Hey
Oh-whoo
So that’s how it goes, with a kiss from a rose
